- This is the Firefly panel from Wales Comic Con, with Nathan Fillion, Jewel Staite and Sean Maher. NOTE: There is video in the first half, then audio only (mixed with photos) for the second half.
There was an unfortunate miscommunication over recording for this panel. The general public were asked not to record video, but we were told afterwards the press actually were allowed to record. However, that wasn't communicated to the WCC crew beforehand, so I was asked to turn off the camera in the middle of it... Unfortunate mistake, but these things happen.

I just watched the show with my sons (12 and 14) for the first time and they are blown away by it. They simply can't comprehend why it had been cancelled, so there is a whole new generation scarred for life by that horrific decision.

I was at this Commicon in Wales and it was the best and most wonderful experience for me. Seeing and meeting Nathan, Jewel and Sean live was the best experience. Thanks to everyone involved. 💛🥰
Out Of Gas is still my favorite as well. It gets me choked up and teary every. single. time. ❤
And Yes. Kaylee. Kaylee would lift Thor's hammer without thinking about it, set it beside the engine, then grab a wrench to go fix the power converter, or the compression coil (again).
God I love this cast. They're just such a joy, especially together!

Yeah, I double-checked that with WCC afterwards to make totally sure I was okay posting this. Usually the stage manager will specifically come and tell me directly if I can't record, and they didn't for that one, so I was recording. When I checked afterwards, the Press were actually allowed to record, but the general public were not (I think that was likely so they could easily tell press not to post it if any awkward questions popped up in the panel, whereas they have no control if everyone is recording.) Problem is, they didn't communicate that to the crew on the floor, so one of the crew asked me to turn off the camera halfway through when I should have been able to keep it running. Annoying, but these things happen! However, I record the audio from the stage seperately (and I couldn't get up in the middle of the panel to stop it without causing disruption.) So I had all the audio, but only half of it on video. Hence the reason the video flips to photos halfway through!
So good, but i miss castle!!!!!!
what will it take to get jewel into the star wars universe?
the point Nathan makes about season 12 sucking is what ive always said - the US only cancels/stops stuff when it starts sucking or no one watches it anymore. Its never written with a quality end in sight - it just keeps going until it aint worth going anymore (which translates as money stops coming in).
Its very different to the UK model where often times a season of something will be pitched because they have enough ideas for a season ~ and thats it ~. Firefly will always like someone who died too soon ... 'they had such potential'. Yeah but also, it stopped on a cliffhanger and was exciting - it never had the chance to run out of ideas and start hooking up every character with every character just to create content *cough*
It didn't end on a cliffhanger, and it was nowhere close to getting boring. Perhaps in S11 it gets bad, so what?
