@@tommiefisher9525 theres a reason dodges have won nearly every UCC event. i think a ford won the drag race one year, but dodge won all the other events all the other years.
except for that chevy that won biggest fireball last year.

A 48 is a great trans when built right, look at the top guys at the last 4 UCC, mainly DNR Customs. Derek rose. Local shop and know him personally, great guy and shop. Him and many others use the 48. I know a lot of guys that swapped their 68 out of their new 6.7 cummins and put a 48 in
48re is the best 4speed when built.

You have to understand that just upgrades alone isn't gonna bring the time down significantly. That truck stock(coming from someone who owns one) is about a 14/15 second truck, $90k in upgrades without proper tuning, gearing, timing, weight ect being done to it isn't gonna increase the time by a whole ton. Cleetus McFarland for instance has spent probably $100k or more on his Kartvette Leroy and hasn't been able to get out of the 7.5 second mark in the quarter, and Leroy's sister Ruby is about a 7.5 second car and has had I'm sure over $100k in upgrades herself between the two Texas Speed 427's he's had in her alone not to mention other parts. Plus this we're talking about Diesel vs. Gasoline and in my experience with diesel pickups it takes a bit more to make them pull a sub-8 than his does for a gasoline powered vehicle be in truck or car.

thats not true. all the high horsepower duramax guys do 47/48re swaps. allison are good for about 1900hp. but dont forget, 4 gears slamming down the track will always beat 6 gears
jwr gaming all my buddies with dmaxs, put efi live and love it for a month then it limps... and then limps easier and also costs twice as much to build
Allisons are great for towing but the dodge transmissions are the way to go if you're building a drag truck everyone does it they're just faster

I'll never understand drag racing diesel trucks. The cost vs results make it not worth it. Total investment of 150 grand to run 9s? You can find yourself an LS truck and run 9s for much, much less. And the truck will be much more consistent, less prone to mechanical failures, and overall it'll just be a much more controllable and nonchalant time down the truck. Not to mention you can probably do it with a stock bottom end and ONE turbo, much less twins/compounds... God forbid triples. I've got some injectors and a programmer in my 24v Cummins and EFI Live in my LBZ Duramax, but just to make them more enjoyable to drive and to net better fuel economy. It it so ungodly retarded to drag race a diesel, sled pulling, sure. But if you wana go racing unloaded with a truck, gas is the only way to go. 150 grand just to crack a 9 second 1/4, sounds like a diesel. You can build 3 9 second gas trucks for that price for f*cks sake!!! Is it really worth it?!
Yes, real trucks don't have spark plugs...
@@LoganFK Glow plugs require electric to start in 50F weather, might work different, but technically both have plugs that get spark. Kinda like your rechargable butt plugs.
