This song, and this specific performance of it, is to me one of the, if not the finest example of what Phil's drumming is all about. His playing is clean as fuck, never missing any beat and with so many intricacies in it. Here he lays some badass drum fills, swings his hihats and hits hard his solidly tuned snare drum as he pulverizes the kick drum. No need to overplay, or showing off, just a simple yet solid ass kicking 4/4 beat. The man's a machine...!!
... and by playing drums as clean as fuck the rhythm jumps over to the listener whose heartbeat then immediately changes, brain shuts off and the listener becomes a robot that is precisely replicating the rhythm by jumping and stomping and head shaking. That‘s how Phil the machine works
I usually don’t care for classic bands that produce new material, but man AC/DC still put out some great shit the later part of their career. Songs off the top of my head Black Ice, Rock and Roll Train, Rock or Bust, Baptism by Fire even Shot in the Dark its all awesome.
J Stone I hate when people insult AC/DC, most commonly Rudd in particular, for writing the same things. Most who hold that belief look on only the surface level and think they have everything figured out. AC/DC has little intricacies in every song that make them unique. Nobody would go to their live shows if all their music was as similar or generic as it's commonly passed off as being. Their formula's hardly changed, but their songs are never even close to the same. I love all AC/DC, but I certainly have my favorite few tunes from them for a reason.
firewarg some people will always try to find the negative side of things . tho the most common thing you people have to say about ACDC is "the music is simple" "it`s the same every time" . with 200million albums ++ sold world wide and a hit record after 40years i guess simple works.
AC/DC is one of my favourite bands. Don't just protect yourself from the truth by criticising me, they are very unoriginal. All their music is so similar, it's like they are always playing the same song. It's a damn good song though :P

I was thinking seriously what would be "the happiest day of my life" and I decided it would be a concert of these guys. Fuck my Graduation, AC/DC FOR LIFE!
Claudio pires .. concordo plenamente contigo .. nessa canção ele brilhou completamente .. mas também tenho que dizer sinceramente que o ***** foi muito melhor ... quando ele faleceu .. a banda desceu muito a nível da reputação e talento !
Chris Slade can play the drums louder and he's more fun to watch because he goes crazy, but Phil Rudd is the absolute best at keeping time and pace. He can play for many hours and not miss a single beat.
What’s terrible is that Black Ice tour was the very last tour with Malcolm Young & George Young alive! Rock in peace you two! And the last tour where Brian and Phil were there so sad that these guys are such legends (together or apart) and they are all separated now! Angus is my hero so I don’t feel lost about it fully but it’s sad.
Man I am 15 I haven't had the chance to see them yet. And If they tour again we all know it will most likely be there last so. I pray to God I get a ticket to see them cos I won't get a other chance in my life and knowing I could of seen them and not going would fucking suck
The sound of drumm in this show is a fucking awesome.
Lucas Pires That was almost English.
Phil Rudd is the boss.

He does play as clean as fuck on his drums Phil Rudd

Anytime someone wants a more recent example of why Rudd’s so crucial to AC/DC, I play them this song.
Phil will go down in history as one of rock and rolls hardest, most solid drummers. No BS, just straight up hard beats!
Phil Rudd is the star of this song. Human metronome on full display.

This song is short but it rocks hard.

That crowd, that band, that riff, too perfect.
One of the best beats they've ever created.
what beat you mean the one they use in every song that they've ever played? The drums don't change.

There is nothing wrong with AC/DC and everything is perfect with them as well
Phil Rudd The Drum MACHINE
Oh man, I bet the guys were so proud of malcolm for playing his heart out through this tour despite his dementia. The man never missed a beat.
i wasnt even at that concert, but im still damn proud of Malcolm for everything he did
Phil’s intro at 0:11 is just nuts. How can something sound so hard and smooth at the same time 😎
Judging by the amount of clothing Angus has on yet, this was near the beginning of the performance
Yup, the last song before Angus' strip

Yep he did his strip tease during the jack.
i love how people can timestamp AC/DC concerts by the tempo of the song and amount of clothes Angus has on

Phil Rudd does some amazing stuff on this song - him and Cliff are so bloody underrated. Brilliant musicians
That's why Phil is unique.
this riff is amazing
Phil Cliff Malcolm what a rythm section ! Brian and Angus brillant ! Ahh it was ACDC
this song is underatted
Watch the concentration from Phil. The temptation to rush this track, especially live must be very hard to resist. But as ever he absolutely nails it.
premier4 6 was Phil trying not to rush Malcolm ? What awesome mates they are! Were ! Even angus seemed on the down low!
Oh yeah!!!!! The second best track on the album behind "Rock N' Roll Train". They both stand up as eventual AC/DC classics years down the road.
And war machine!!! :D
Eric S Let's say: The whole fucking album! :D
I like rock n roll dream and stormy may day too
