    Namaste. Both Buddhism and Jainism are considered non-Vedic for the simple reason that both paths rejected the Vedas. All Dharmic philosophies are infinitely older than any of the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam).

    Thanks for an enlightened talk on brahmana culture. Part of the reason I suffered in life was due to the 'father like son' polluted culture. My father is an ignorant agnostic materialist, & I am very much inclined towards transcendental topics & dharma. This creates friction, so it's best to practice away from such poisonous influences. Until we become strong enough in character & Vedic knowledge, we can teach with conviction & help cure this sick society.
    Jaya Govinda!!!

    Namaste, I am also from Nepal and there are ancient Hindu temples in Kathmandu Valley. The oldest might be Changu Narayan and then there is Pashupatinath Temple. Both are around 2000 years old.

    Dear Acharya and elite or elite Brahmana,
    You explained very well.
    For those who are engulfed in so called 'caste' feeling listen to the true guru, especially between 8:05 min for 2 mins. If you are remotely rational person, all those caste feelings must be washed away.

    It is most encouraging to hear that one is not bound (enslaved) by one's earthly origins (nation, parentage, religious upbringing). I have long studied Abraham Maslow (with my own 'history of peak and plateau experiences) and I know his writing on transcendence of one's culture, a strong influence that entraps people, like an addicting drug.

    Yeah ! Thank god true meaning is explained in a beautiful and concrete manner. Thankful to you for such depth of explanation. How come silly NRIs were upset just because TulasiDevi has UpavitaSutra, this is not good. They should not have this kind of stupid politics in spiritual path.

    What about the Laws of Manu? It’s pretty orthodox on women and on caste.

    • @DharmaNation
      @DharmaNation  7 лет назад +13

      By the very definition of the term "shastra" (scripture), all of the Vedic scriptures are radically orthodox, and not just the Manava-Dharma-Shastra ("Laws of Manu"). The Vedic scriptures firmly uphold everything stated by Sri Acharyaji in this talk. A true brahmana is one who knows Brahman (God), and not simply someone born into a "brahmana" family. A brahmana is known by his virtuous qualities and actions, not just by his parental name. In addition, the Shruti portion of the Vedic scriptures report that brahmana threads were awarded women in more purely Vedic times (this is also very common knowledge to all professors and scholars of Hindu studies). This was the common practice in the Vedic community until approximately 1200 years ago. Thank you for your comment.
