Nagi-san, the vocalist described herself as a novice with the announcement of her and Junna ex:GRBK joined Hagane. Obviously Junna is a pro drummer, and I am glad to hear her in a permanent band again. I am glad Nagi has similarities to Uyu vocally so the past songs will remain similar overall. I also like the addition to backing vocals. I don't think had them in the past, at least as prominent as they are here.
This new EP sounds excellent. Perfect comeback with awesome new members! Very pleased with how good it sounds! The last song is my favorite, its just super uplifting and a blast!!
I love this EP. Sakura and Sayaka are brilliant. Junna a beast on drums. And I love Nagis voice. This chorus , she hits me heavy, emotional, inspiring. 🤘😻⚔️
With Junna on drums and Sakura on guitar we weren't going to get anything else but a variant of power metal. 🤭 They did find the perfect replacement on vocals and the time spent looking was definiteley worth it. Nagi is close enough to the old vocalist, Uyu, but also distinct enough that Nagi will be able to do the old songs without it being too jarring and also be able to distance herself away from Uyu enough to where comparisons won't last forever. Hagane did have a song like this before with Black Cult and is one of the reasons I call them Lovebites' little sisters. 🤣
I broke down this track and raised the volume on the vocalist, then I took their previous song "BlackCult" and did the same thing so I can compare the two. I give a slight edge to UYU on the vocals just because of how thick and smooth her voice is, which is amazing. But I do really like the new vocalist overall she is excellent and hits some great notes.
I would the edge to Uyu too. But, I would also make the comparison a little fairer by comparing Uyu's earlier songs with Hagane as I think she certainly got stronger over time.
Technically speaking, the old singers voice does seem a bit better. However, in terms of broadening appeal, I think the new singers voice is better suited for that. Just my opinion.
I was most anxious about the new vocalist, especially knowing / hearing nothing by her prior to this EP. That said, she shines here and she will be fine with both old and new HaganE. she's really awesome to listen to. I do miss Kanako, I prefer her to Junna in every way. Overall, they are back and they sound fantastic. songs 2-5 have been played daily since last week. love it. cannot wait for more from them and I hope they do at least 1 or 2 MVs from this EP. The instrumental is awesome too.
3 members left (vocalist Uyu, drummer Kanako and guitarist Mayto), only their bassist Sayaka and obviously founder/guitarist Sakura Yoshida stayed. Uyu and Mayto are now in a mixed male/female band called Mana Diagram who play similar music to Hagane. Kanako has played live with Paleneo a couple of times (the Pinkish Crown drummer did as well), but I don't think she is currently in a band. Hagane now has a new vocalist in Nagi (I actually wish it didn't sound as much like Uyu because I find them a tad too high for my taste) and have pulled in Junna of all people on drums (you know, the ex-Girls Rock Band Kakumei one). I will probably get the phyiscal EP when it releases next month although I wasn't a huge fan of the Hagane album and this honestly gives me the same cheesy/poppy power metal vibes I am not a huge fan of. That said, I will give them an other shot since I do like Junna's drumming typically (it is very typical power metal drumming here though) and I while I don't necessarily like her writing, Sakura Yoshida is a very talented guitar player. I feel like this lineup won't be my thing either (Sakura Yoshida basically does everything, so it's probably her writing that's not for me), but I do wish them all the best.
Well I love Lovebites as well, while I thought this song was pretty decent. They really try to pull you in with the chorus. Which is nice, because it’s not just trying to impress with the instrumentals to the point where it forgets about these more emotional aspects of music (which I feel like Lovebites forgets at times). Getting people to react emotionally can be important for gaining listeners on Spotify, rather than just gaining viewers looking for reaction videos that surprise the reactors with the technical aspects. Edit: It might not seem like it, but Lovebites is my favorite band. I’m just a bit critical of them at times.
The whole EP is so good, banger after banger. I'm so glad they are back dude.
This has been so much fun to listen to, Having that Junna power is so awesome!

The whole EP is Sakura's middle finger to all those who wrote them off last year!! It's awesome!! ⚔🤨⚔

@@ramair3judge That's a very good point.
@@SomethingToDo360 The new singer's voice is perfect, it does go well with their music. The overall sound of the EP really is complete.
I'd happily buy the CD of this if it is ever released.
Let's take a romantic walk through this meandering bridge straight to my heart ❤️ cheers for the video Howard

Hmmmmm, it just doesn’t grab me. I don’t know why, it ought to on paper. I love LOVEBITES and Lonesome_Blue. 🤷🏻♂️
