    I sculpted the character in this video for a kid's meal toy for Tricon Global Restaurants, now Yum! Brands.
    It is a character in Scary Scary Monsters by Jim Henson.

    I don’t have an issue grasping the sprue/vent concept, but I vote for more paper animations nonetheless, please. Haha! Very nicely done!!! And I don’t recall that Muppet book?!? How cool to see!

    • @ssl3546
      @ssl3546 Год назад +1

      elementary classes (e.g. art classes) are taught in the fall semester; students go online for answers. advanced students in the spring don't need to learn how to make sprues and vents because they already know. in the summer class is not in session.

    Hey
    I saw some videos from you and i think you doing this thing a long time ago and have much experience with molding and casting.
    Can you recommend a silicone for me to make moldings.
    I want to make molding from silicone but dont know which one is the best.
    Do you think cheap silicone is as good as expensive ones.
    Do you know some brands which you work with and are great ?.
    Can you link some silicone brands.
    Thank you

    Would love to try sculpting in that wax. I usually use chavant. .. what is the name of that wax?
    Ps, beeswax got me out of a jam this week, literally! Thanks to you! 😎

    • @RobertTolone
      @RobertTolone  Год назад +1

      It’s an old wax. I bought out the remaining stock when the company discontinued it. Many sculptors formulate their own wax. Monster Clay is the closest commercial product to it I know of now.

    • @RobertTolone

      The ones I looked at online are super complex. To make them you would have to do what the manufacturer does, cast each piece separately.

    very handy trick with the cutout paper! What minimal thickness is preferable for a sprue, like 0,5 cm? (for a small sculpt)

    • @RobertTolone
      @RobertTolone  Год назад +1

      The sprue is always scaled to the cavity to be filled. You’ll get a feel for it. If your sculpt is, say 50mm tall, 0.5 cm should work ok. If you are not certain make the sprue bigger than you think it needs to be. The only cost is more cleanup on the casting and a little bit more resin wasted.

    how does a plastic master get use to make a metal injection mold? what is the process?

    • @RobertTolone
      @RobertTolone  Год назад +1

      Nowadays the process is all digital. Back then they would make a mold of the model and use that negative impression as guide for machining the injection molding tool.
