Effin brilliant cover of my fave REM song! only got to know EDITORS music in the last few months and im pissed i missed them when they toured australia! COME BACK!
I love the Editors, I love REM, this is music technically a great cover, but by no means an alternative interpretation of the original, which is what I would expect of a cover.
a good cover,i doubt they could do find the river though, then again REM would make an arse of when anger shows....so orange crush is appreciated by me for being interchangeable between these two fine bands
i imagine rems live verison of this song would be better as tom smith has to do all the vocals for editors saying that, it sounds as if it would be a difficult song to perform live due to the backing vocals which cross over with the lead vocals
I think this version sounds much better than the original, but then I'm not a big R.E.M. fan; Michael Stipe's voice can be really annoying. the guitar textures, drumming, and addition of new-wave-y keys are all a bit plus, as well as tom Smith's voice! :) I like the "weird" backing vocals.
Then I repeat my opinion. That's why I wrote "I feel."...... So people such as yourself wouldn't make snide comments like the one earlier. But I can see I was mistaken. Ettiquette is alive and well here on youtube, as usual........
Why the hell did they butcher the lyrics in the Chorus? It totally changes what the whole song was written about..... Love the sound, can't stand how they butchered the song lyrics...
They sound sounds great, but the background lyrics in the middle of the song are completely wrong. This song is about Vietnam, and I feel this version's background lyrics totally distort the song's meaning. Stipe's mumbling style of singing is a LOT harder to understand. But once you do, it really adds to the meaning. I feel this version takes away from it; adding your own lyrics isn't cool.
Their version lacks the drive of the original, mostly because of the new oversimplified bassline and plainer vocals. They somewhat make up for it with more involved drumming.
It's like listening to Motley Crue's cover of Anarchy, the song is so much better with some true talent. (Note: Sex Pistols have great vocals, just not instrument oriented.)
Some parts are good, but the bass line has been flattend out and it's much less interesting. The background vocals also. It's not a bad cover, but it doesn't exceed the original. Boo.
The O.C. 4x04 (Ryan running on the beach) brought me here, nice cover!
i still think of that random running montage every time i listen to this song
Always took it at him starting on the comeback trail after the tragedy that broke him.
Just finished rewatching all of the o.c this week... I'm here from that scene xD
Same ❤
O.C.? Orange Crush?!
I would have accepted this as an R.E.M. live version as their voices sound so similliar . Brilliant
I love the beginning of this song.
And then REM reciprocated by covering Munich. Awesome.
For those that don't know REM is Tom's And most of the band's favorite band. This is like a tribute to them
both versions are stupendous . This one gives it a new and wonderful editorial spin.
Gutted this isn’t on Spotify
Same
Same
Literally came here now as my 2nd resort.
I have the cd single ..b side.
It used to be!
Heard it on the O.C. Season 4.04 :) nice song
This guy could literally sing anything and make it awesome.
He even sings the phone book and it sounds good
@@mickltlbjhbih3909 good joke hehe

One of the best voices in music, such a talent!
I like it better than the Original! Go guys. Great band, totally underrated.
Great cover
I would have accepted this as an R.E.M. live version as their voices sound so similliar . Brilliant
Whoa how have I never heard this until now?! Perfection
Love this cover! Madness!!!
ryan atwood brought me here
I love the beginning of this song.
Effin brilliant cover of my fave REM song! only got to know EDITORS music in the last few months and im pissed i missed them when they toured australia! COME BACK!
Great band. They came to South Africa to play at a legendary festival out in the bush in 2014, and they were brilliant.
I think the Edge sounds awesome on this track, he rocks big time...
Excellent cover!!!
R.E.M's live version of this is fantastic. Beats the studio version anyday, and this cover.
I'm a massive R.E.M. fan and I really enjoyed this. He's got some really strong similarities in his voice with stipe..
Great cover, heard it on the radio one day without knowing the artist and found it it after search.
Best Orange Crush Cover I've heard YET!
I'm a fan of the editors AND r.e.m.
this version is good, but my favorite one is from r.e.m.
excellent version
Yeah, let's watch a 10-minute ad before the video, can we please?!
They sound great!
Yesssss the OC
o.c. song
fantastic cover
Brilliant cover
Amazing!!
Why isn't this on Spotify already
a good different cover to the original! i like
Great cover!
Porque carambas aun no esta en spotify
I love the Editors, I love REM, this is music technically a great cover, but by no means an alternative interpretation of the original, which is what I would expect of a cover.
completely forgot about this. Awesome
This was just plain good. 5 stars other than the AC/DC like, plain jane common man's vanilla bass line.
i love this cover, used to be one of my fave tracks from REM but much prefer this version
oc vibes
Truly an ace cover
Anyone come for the oc? Season 4 episode 4?
MJdouble G Ryan running on the beach
the best band

a good cover,i doubt they could do find the river though, then again REM would make an arse of when anger shows....so orange crush is appreciated by me for being interchangeable between these two fine bands
find the river is my fav❤
1000th like. On another note this is a (hmmm) mediocre cover. On another, it's 12.03pm here in the UK. What time is it in 17th Century UK.
it´s perfect¡
i imagine rems live verison of this song would be better as tom smith has to do all the vocals for editors
saying that, it sounds as if it would be a difficult song to perform live due to the backing vocals which cross over with the lead vocals
I'm sure Peter Buck overdubbed more than one guitar in the original.
I've always considered The Editors as a blend of 80's music, particularly Joy Division and REM. So not surprised. But kinda so-so for a cover.
AdventuresOfTheKanFam there's no such band as THE Editors
I think this version sounds much better than the original, but then I'm not a big R.E.M. fan; Michael Stipe's voice can be really annoying. the guitar textures, drumming, and addition of new-wave-y keys are all a bit plus, as well as tom Smith's voice! :) I like the "weird" backing vocals.
Muito Bom...................
The oc
that could be the answer to every annoying orange video on youtube.
what do you mean the edge?
of u2????
True
on what album is that song??
Up! by Christine
holy shit
Then I repeat my opinion. That's why I wrote "I feel."...... So people such as yourself wouldn't make snide comments like the one earlier. But I can see I was mistaken. Ettiquette is alive and well here on youtube, as usual........
@sadlsore "big plus," not "bit plus," sorry. The only part I don't really like is the solo piano "dirge" in the beginning.
It's like they took all that's edgy in the song and brought it out - which REM were to mellow to do
❤❤❤
I've been all over the world, son. I'm even writing this from Iraq.
How about you?
this is better than REMs original.
av seen REM do it live and it was poor.
both good bands tho.
@sadlsore Aw, that's the part I like the best :/
anyone...please...cause i don't know if it means something in english...
waht does he mean with "orange crush"
Vietnam ... Agent Orange
Wow
I like it, but something seems to be missing from it.
What he said :)
Why the hell did they butcher the lyrics in the Chorus? It totally changes what the whole song was written about..... Love the sound, can't stand how they butchered the song lyrics...
I prefere this version, seriosly!
Thank you. Let us agree to disagree, then.
i miss a bit the other bass but hopefully it didnt have those irritating backing vocals on the chorus
Anyone else came here because listened in the O.C show?
Not bad but the voices in the back ground sound strange to me.
They sound sounds great, but the background lyrics in the middle of the song are completely wrong. i prefer REM's version
It's like listening to Motley Crue's cover of Anarchy, the song is so much better with some true talent. (Note: Sex Pistols have great vocals, just not instrument oriented.)
Too Weak, they made a good effort at it but you cant beat the real thing!
Sounds very Bauhaus.
+Keith Pixton It does at the beginning. Reminds me of bits of 'The Skys Gone Out' album piano.
Green is a favourite album of mine and The Editors do justice
And not that Bauhaus. As to the Skys gone out, Where?
Some parts are good, but the bass line has been flattend out and it's much less interesting. The background vocals also. It's not a bad cover, but it doesn't exceed the original. Boo.
Not liking this. The original is way better with a menacing bass, great guitar, and amazing drumming...
The Editors? This band should have named themselves "Men Without Testicles".
David Sukenick
If you have to ask, then you should check your crotch to see if two things are missing.
Hmmm I disagree there, I like this cover, but R.E.M's original is far superior.
Terrible in my opinion
