I tried a different pair of boots every 8 months or so when I was in the regular Army. The S2V was by far the best for my feet and my favorite. I still wear them in the National Guard and for LE work.
While I was enlisted, plenty of servicemembers loved the Rocky S2V boots. While I prefer the traditional military boots made by McRae and Belleville for being recraftable, for most, the comfort and mobility of the Rocky S2V were highly-desirable traits for the typical soldier.
Never cared to much for any of the Rocky boots I have had in the past, there was something with the heel counter that temporarily caused problems with my Achilles.
I have the Coronado's and I like them a lot I don't wear them all the time especially not in the winter they're super breathable great summer light boot as you saw when you pulled out the insole even the insole was breathable because it was made to be around water and one thing that I didn't know before I bought them is that cap around the front that you were talking about that looks like manta Ray skin or something. That's designed that way so that flippers fit around these boots so yeah they are definitely made to be around water
Those Georgies Waterproof Pull On Wedge Boot at the 7:00 mark look like a workman's UGG. The first boots with that you called "water boots" were pretty cool looking.
Every time I see you guys talk about local brands like Knaf knives, it always makes me think of Grip6. What goes super well with High Quality Boots? High Quality local made Socks! You guys gotta do some collabs like you do with Knaf!
My one problem with the rocky predators is they aren't like the old S2Vs. Old stock S2Vs were a wider, longer boot and that insole was a bit thicker. The predators are a narrow last, even if you get wides and they're short by about half a size from your normal street shoe size. Go up a half size on them and get the wides. I bought normal fit 11s the first time around and they crushed my feet even in try on. My current 11Ws I still have to have the lower laces really loose to get a fit I can tolerate. I really should've purchased 11.5Ws to be actually comfortable as my toes almost touch the end of the boot and feel scrunched up under the soft toe cap. Use your normal street shoe sizing on those predators and then add a half size and make them wide.
Just placed an order for the Russell PH premiere build. Would love to see the comparison between the old management PH and the new ones. Love the vids, quickly becoming my favorite channel.
The Coronado boot is interesting to me, living in the South where it is frequently hot and wet. I used to go canoe camping, when I would often have to wade in rocky riverbeds where I risked twisting my ankle or cutting my foot. This boot might solve that problem, while allowing it to dry quickly. Perhaps you can figure out a way to test how quickly it would dry, and whether it would be wearable without socks!
There is a Swiss brand I have been looking into but, my favorite shoe connoisseur has yet to review the brand or their leather quality. The brand is called Le Majordome. When I entered the shop on Madison. The shopkeeper was very professional and explained that most of the shoes were veg tan, full grain, and they were imported from Switzerland. May you please review this brand before I drop $400?
I have the same boots they are the best. On my 2nd pair in 5 years of every day use doing tree and ranch work. I'm hoping he does a review of them in the future. Hard to beat the georgia loggers for that price point
@@Maxwell-j9z I have to agree with you! The Vibram sole alone makes the price worth admission. I dyed the white stitches black so now it's all blacked out.
Love the videos man, can we get the 8" Georgia Lace-to-Toe Loggers cut in half? They are my favorite work boots and curious what you think of them. Happy Holidays
Dude I wanted to love the Georgia high Chelsea boot. But Holy hell it was impossible to slip on over my heel. Construction was awesome just literally couldn't get them on. 😂
I got issued the Rocky S2V. They were fine, but always felt like they were great for running in. I ended up preferring the Belleville Sabre Hybrid Assault
Rose I love your stuff man kinda my idol hey will you do Cody James square toe lace up work boots from boot barn I’m curious about them for price point thank you in advance
Dude, check this out. I’ve been watching your vids for years. What I’ve been doing w/ my boots is buying the crap Dr. sholes at the drug store. Can you please come out with a line of Gel based insoles. I’d love your take on what the “gel” is made from, do some research I know you can. Shit the stuff I get from like Walgreens…. I don’t know what I’m buying! I want the science and the know how you bring to the table! I’d be willing to pay (no joke) like $50+ for you expert opinion!
All the men in my wife's family in southern Washington love the Georgia boots. Especially the Romeos. That said, it seems not all of their models are created equal as the reviews would show on their website. Never heard of Rocky boots but man do they look cool!

Would like to see the Georgia's cut in half. They seem to be one of the more reputable budget brands.
