As I Lay Dying and Unearth came up around the same time in the early 2000s metalcore scene and share a similar style, blending melodic riffs with heavy breakdowns. With only a 2-year difference between their formations (AILD in 2000 and Unearth in 1998), they both helped shape the sound of modern metalcore. Bringing Unearth musicians into AILD's lineup felt like a natural fit, considering their experience in the same genre and era. They already understand the nuances of that aggressive yet melodic sound, so filling the lineup gaps with Unearth members was a great choice!
AILD have always sounded crushing. I just dont get how good they sound even through a phone... The guitars, bass, vocals, absolute stunning musician's head to toe!
Too many people try to tell me Killswitch, lamb of god, and others are the kings of metalcore....no...absolutely false...no matter what happens with AILD they are the kings of metalcore...no argument needed...just go through every album and that's my proof....
@@Notepad123 I like both those bands but I disagree. And that's OK. All have created ridiculously good music for us to enjoy and we should continue to enjoy it.
It depends on the albums of the bands, AILD had Shadows Are Security and An Ocean Bettwen Us, Bullet for my valentine had The Poison and Scream Aim Fire. The list goes on
@@reynic8467 AILD also had The Powerless Rise and Awakened that were super sick as well...why do people only bring up those 2 albums you mentioned? Do not tell me because they're the only 2 good albums...if you think that you're in the friend zone to like 97 women.
Extremely competent in performancing live, though they have lived in the draconian time of metalcore.Nonetheless of evolution over this band has been made, definitely are frozen in the NWOAHM fields without getting to move out from there.
is it just me or the bass player doing the clean vocals in through struggle kind putting me off. tim sounded better when he was skinny just my opinion tho aild for life

My Own Grave
The Toll It Takes
Tear Out My Eyes
Torn Between (excluding songs from the new album) would've been a way better choice...
the bass sound is amazing
What about the drum 🫨
dude you aren't lying
I agree. Too bad it’s a backing track 🫣 Ryan definitely wasn’t playing some of those riffs you can hear. You can tell if you watch him play

Bummer that these guys couldn't work it out. Sad times!
this line up doesnt get enough love. such a shame
Katt Williams said all will be exposed in '24 😂
...new band name: All Will Be Exposed
probably has to do more with Tim Labesis than anyone else
Tim Lambesis feels that his ex wifes life is worth $1000. Bummer he couldn't not be a living pile of excrement. FOH
I mean why would anyone want to be in a band with a guy that would have his wife killed? I wouldn't.
Gnarly mix!! So crisp, heavy and bouncy!! Thank you!!
All the love for the bass!
Can't deny the man is a talented metal singer.
He is a better singer than a hitman that’s for sure
Within Destruction still goes hard AF after all these years
so heavy
the drummer using traditional grip is SICK ASF
cant lie they sound FUCKING INCREDIBLE ughhh wish i could see them live one more time :(

Why would Tim allow this to happen. Who is gunna tour with him now
"Tim wanted the band to have a certain look. He wanted us to hop on the juice. He said he didn't want to play with a bunch of skinny 😸".

That's so far from the truth it's sad@@Mmmleftovers
These guys sound so much better. Glad still making hits. Hope the band keeps going strong.
As I Lay Not Touring
Frankly no wonder these guys quit, they're so tight Tim's sloppiness is showing badly
As I Lay With No Band Members (again) 😂
Good joke
They sound great!
Does Tim have the rights to the name As I Lay Dying?
Of course. He created As I Lay Dying lol

I think they'd be much better of if Ken Susi would do the clean vocals.
holy fuck the bass is way too loud
People like to forget there is a woman who would be dead if tim had his way.
Shame on AILD for taking him back in
Well now all members have left so….
@ds698 that doesn't take back their decision to accept him back in the first place.

How did you get the sound so much better than it was live? It was live the worst sound of BA so far.
post-production is a wonderful thing.
True, that live sound was terrible.. one of the worst i witnessed at BA 😶
