  • Loading John Deere 470G excavator onto low bed. Watch the pro load this John Deere excavator (Track Hoe) onto the flatbed low boy trailer so it can be hauled it to a different job site. Loading a big hoe onto a 16 wheeler is always a carefully done job. These excavators are heavy and a mistake can easily happen, especially in cold weather. Although I like watching load fails I'd prefer not to witness one in person. A 470 like this is much too heavy to move legally with a 16 wheel trailer & tri axle truck unless you use a booster and jeep. Moving this load on a frozen oilfield road is fine, he had two set of tire chains on, and the truck air suspension was over 120 pounds he had tons of traction.

Good luck my friend! The key ìs slow and steady without sudden movements. I've loaded several, but nothing like a few of these guys. Stay tuned for further nonsense and entertainment my friend and it's kind of like cutting hair: once you've done it, you have done it. Just get better as you go.

Guy knows what he's doing for sure. Guess you need that to operate such machinery

Yes. He's certainly way more qualified and experienced loading machines than I am.

Yes. I wonder if he gets nervous anymore. He told me about loading up a rock truck once. Backing on and it spun and slipped sideways and the back fell off the trailer . He just turned sideways and drove off and loaded again.

Just a tad over weight 😂

Just on the bottom of the tires! Lol.
You bet. She'd be a hefty fine hauling like that on the government roads. Private oilfield roads on the other hand have no restrictions for weight or size. Just need a pilot car or several depending on size & circumstances.
I appreciate you checking it out and commenting. Stay tuned for further nonsense and entertainment my friend.

Interesting. Was it something out of the ordinary? Or an unknown cause (besides too much weight)?

I wonder how many times they've blown a tire or tires on the back axle of that drag just as the full weight of the machine comes up off the ground.

I don't think any but I certainly could be wrong, I will ask him today or tomorrow when I see him next.
Tires can take a tremendous load as long as it is not a shock load.
I've seen the back tires of a bed truck loaded up where the tires looked like they had 10 pounds in them, When in all likelihood it would have been over 100. They were just carrying a set of pumps that weighed around 80000 pounds all balanced on the back of the truck

@@lovesloudcars Oh I know tires can stand heavy loads. I pulled containers for almost 25 years before I retired. Some import loads would have as much as 80k in the box. More than once I refused to pull them. 80k is the GVW for most of the US.

@@gregbrown4962 That would be a nasty fine if you got caught hauling one of those loads on the highway.
