  • Removing and replacing contaminated soil. Hauling in some contaminated dirt to a landfill. Unloading clay and hauling some clean fill back to fill the hole that was left when we dug up and removed all the contamination. Part of this video was from last winter & the new fill was this winter. Same process. The contamination can come from all sorts of sources. Sometimes a pipeline will develop a small hole because of corrosion. Sometimes it is a result of strike damage, or rupture of some seal like an O ring or packing seal. Sometimes it's cleaning up something that was buried decades ago when "mix bury and cover" was industry standard for small pits of spills.
The landfills now are designed and constructed with unprecedented environmental standards, so where it is piled will not leach anything into the surrounding environment or ground water. In the end it will look like a huge grass and tree covered hill, where the only giveaway will be it's geometric shape.

Yes it's something else hey? I ran that unit last month. It's actually quite heavy. The truck has 1 more axle than my tandem truck, yet when I'm pulling a tri axle pup the green one is only legal for something like 2 tonnes more.
The box is huge, it could probably hold more than twice what it's legal for.

It's been too cold for a few weeks to haul much. Hard on machines and everything freezes into the boxes.
Going to be busy starting tomorrow including more of this. Hopefully it stays a little warmer.
      Hope you are doing well.

      Always something going on.
The white truck part was actually last winter! It has been too cold for a few weeks to haul that stuff because it freezes up in the box as well as overnight after digging it out. ( which turns into huge lumps and makes it hard to get any weight on the load).
Weather breaks today and I expect to be busy.

Well my friend, there's few people in the world more qualified to make that statement!!! Does it bring back fond memories? Some things a guy sees or remembers sure can bring other things to mind hey?

I tell my family what I do for a living, but this still don’t get it. You are lucky, operating heavy equipment is much easier to explain.

Maybe you could make a video of yourself sitting at a computer typing away, then speed it up 75% and add some descriptive text....
Yup. Some things things things are easier to capture. Though there's not very much of my day shown here either.
      Stay warm!
