I'm so happy that people who ACTUALLY like Rin know her potential, as she's used a lot as Len's background vocals, which is quite depressing as her voice is beautiful! Out of the twins/mirror images, I prefer Rin due to that she's a beautiful, natural-sounding voice and Len is great too, but his over-hype and constant use makes him dull to me. This song makes and proves that Rin can do what Len can do, if not better! Please love and support and use Rin Kagamine as your main vocals more please, Vocaloid users/listeners! ❤
Rin statistically has more fans than Len, though. She has more songs using her vocals on NicoNico and vastly more fanart than Len on Pixiv due to the Japanese fandom being dominated by males. She's plenty favored in Japan, but in English-speaking communities, since girls dominate the fandom, Len is seemingly more popular.

I like both!? Rin's high pitched yell at the end SUPRISED me. Not many people can tune Rin well, so I just stuck to listening to Len songs. I've never really cared about Rin until now. Wow. 10/10 both songs are amazing

I'll be honest, I think this sounds a bit better than Len's version. Not hating on the version using Len! I love both, but as others have pointed out she sounds so natural - theres much more subtedly and understatement in this version that the other doesn't have which I think gives way to a better interpretation of the lyrics, there's a true sadness in the way Rin sings which is really powerful.
This song holds a special place in my heart because not only did it jump start my obsession for Vocaloid, but it also was the first song I've ever heard from Vocaloid ever. C: (Well, technically it was LeftBehind City by Miku, but it was only a snippet).
It was my “first” vocaloid song too! I technically heard The World is Mine by Miku first, but I heard this song after that one. This one made me fall in love with vocaloids haha

I think this song is about an unrequited love desperately leading to vanity. The purple butterfly represents her affections. The shoulder is an area where the other person does not notice easily. She uses lines like "My loneliness went down the drain while I was shivering and waiting here for you" and "When I follow you and then run away, it means that I want you to follow me as well" to show her desire for attention. She turns to vanity to capture that attention which leads to her self-pity..
Rin has the superior version , Len's doesnt have the cool ass intro that this one has and Rins sounds SO much more natural , like I genuinely love this version so much more even after all these years of listening to both
i feel like people dont like accept rin's personality because she is supposed to be different and more calm unlike len. They are honestly specially talented in their own ways. There are songs that len won't be fit to sing and the same with rin. This I why I love when they both sing together. It's true that rin's songs are more slow that len's and have a deeper meaning but that doesn't mean she should get this much hate. Rin, Len, and Gumi are my top 3 favorite Vocaloids, and I actually LOVE this song...but I prefer Len's version. It just has a better, happier song and suits his voicetype. Like, it sounds good with Rin too, especially with her la's at the end in stuff, but idk. It's the kinda thing that wouldn't work with say, SeeU or Miku or someone.
