I’ve kind of been doing skin cycling for my skin care for years because I have horrible memory so I have certain days I use certain things so I don’t over do it! Monday to Sunday: physical exfoliant, retinol, off day, chemical exfoliant, retinol, retinol, off day.

I think this specific 4-day skin cycling was for people who are new to skincare and/or are introducing both ingredients to their routine for the first time. And foe people with more sensitive skin. What I noticed is that I need another extra day of exfoliation with bha for the breaks out I sometimes get with hormones and retinol. So I just do day 1 aha, then day 2 tretinoin, then day 3 bha and one day rest if i need to. And I use a healing balm/serum also on the night I do tretinoin. Though my skin has already gotten used to months of tretinoin and it tolerates exfoliation pretty well. So I don't really need much rest days.

It's great for beginners or really sensetive skin . I use Adapalene every night , BoJ Retinal Eye Serum too but only use Glycolic at 2% in a dark mark Gel with Lactic , Salycilic and Kojic Acid all at 2% . I use Lactic or Mandelic 10% three times a week and a multi serum daily that has Azelaic Acid at 5% . 👏😊🇬🇧🌈

Thank you for sharing the skin cycling tips, will try out. Appreciate if you could talk about Skinoren cream aka: Azalic Acid. Personally I suffered very sensitive skin+ acne. Don’t know if it’s Eczema or Rosacea. My morning routine: Skinorencream, Khiels ultra facial moisturizer and sun screen. Night routine: Cerave gentle cleanser, khiels micro dose retinol, and moisturizer. For retinol I only apply once every other night. Appreciate if you can make a video share about different between Eczema and Rosacea. Also how to tackle❤

Thanks for posting this video on skin cycling. I have heard of it but never knew how it all works especially for people with sensitive skin. I do have a question on skin cycling. So do you think for us with sensitive skin would be best just to do 1 nigh or 2 night of retinol by separating out the days of use, then having a break for 2 days of the retinol.
Like I use retinol at least one day of the week and go from there at night. Is that alright or should I do 2 nights instead of 1 night. Let me know on this question.
Also is it true that Vasaline is ok to use for slugging?? I saw a video saying that vasaline is ok to use. I haven’t done slugging but one day I’m gonna try it. Thanks for sharing your videos! 🙂

No active ingredients to be used during the recovery day. You can either use hyaluronic acid or niacinamide, depending on your skin type, and finish with a moisturizer on the recovery days. Hope this helps 😊

Great information, thank you. I’ve been wanting to introduce Azelaic acid (Geek & Gorgeous) and Adapalene into my teens skincare routine. They both use Cerave 4% BP wash 1x/day and SA mask 2% 1x week . They have mild/moderate acne. Any recommendations on how to implement both in best way? A cycling routine?;).

    • @RS-pe1ft
      @RS-pe1ft Год назад +2

My dermatologist told me to use my prescription azelaic acid every morning before my moisturizer. AA is great in the morning because it’s a potent antioxidant. I’d recommend using the BP cleanser in the morning since AA and BP work very well together!
I personally use a skin cycling routine on my super sensitive, acne-prone skin and it helps a lot. If they don’t use retinoids though, skin cycling may not be necessary or useful. Exfoliating with a BHA every four days and incorporating rest days has really helped my skin feel and look better! If your teens just focus on using BP wash and AA in the morning, and use the SA mask once a week at night like they have done, then they’ll have a good routine.
There is room to add other actives in the evening if that seems necessary or helpful, but it may be best to just focus on a basic, skin barrier-restoring routine on nights when the SA mask is not used.
My skin barrier-repairing night routine looks something like this:
      - double cleanse (Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm and Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser)
      - cosrx snail mucin essence
      - soothing mask/serum w/ ingredients like panthenol and cica
      - Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief
      - Light, basic moisturizer
      - La Roche Posay cicaplast B5 baume
I only have two rest days every 8-day period, so I really go in with soothing ingredients. It sounds like your teens would use actives less frequently in the evening and would therefore need less soothing ingredients. Their rest nights could be as simple as a double cleanse and soothing moisturizer. If they wanted to add anything, I’d look for a serum w/ panthenol, humectants, and maybe something like snail mucin/green tea/honey/mugwort/cica.
If they don’t like using the BP cleanser in the morning, an alternative routine would be to do some sort of skin cycling routine with BP, AA, and SA in the evening while sticking to the basics in the morning(gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen). It could look something like this:
      Night 1:
      - first step cleanser(oil, micellar water)
      - gentle cleanser
      - SA mask
      - moisturizer
      Night 2:
      - first step cleanser
      - BP wash
      - AA (on dry skin)
      - moisturizer
      Night 3:
      - first step cleanser
      - BP wash
      - AA (on dry skin)
      - moisturizer
      Night 4:
      - first-step cleanse
      - gentle cleanser
      - soothing mask/serum
      - moisturizer
      Night 5:
      - first step cleanser
      - BP wash
      - AA (on dry skin)
      - moisturizer
      Night 6:
      - first step cleanser
      - BP wash
      - AA (on dry skin)
      - moisturizer
      Night 7:
      - first-step cleanse
      - gentle cleanser
      - soothing mask/serum
      - moisturizer
      Hope this helps!!

    Question Doc Jenny:
    Do you really need ceramides?
I love this current moisturizer if mine-- a korean Brand-- Illiyoon moisturizer -- it has ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids..
But I also want to try new ones that you are recommending... But I am afraid to venture out and try other products.
Products like with shea butter and oils rather than having ceramides in it.. 😊
Like cetaphil mositurizing cream... LRP cicaplast... lrp moisturizers... cerave cream
is too light for me... you keep on mentioning these great creams but i am afraid to venture out.... 😢
