Every time I hear that story about the guy "leaving" a box in the hotel room. I get so UGH like this dude did everything wrong. If you ever run into an issue like that tell dont answer the door. Call from desk right away. If they tell you something similar tell them they can ask the Hotel to retrieve it or come back once you check out. Do not EVER unlock a door for a stranger.

In my country we mostly have 2 big ass very aggressive dogs as alarms and guards,works wonderfully.

Shidd when one of the stories said they lived in Tennessee when that happened my jaw dropped
I love these videos. BUT. The first story talked about how she grabbed her Mom's "revolver" but the gun was a semi automatic 1911 type of looking gun, and the story even said that she took off the "safety". IYKYK
The person who does the animations needs to listen to the stories more. It says, "I was kneeling in that position for awhile," meanwhile she's standing.

“revolver” 🤣
The rundown hotel story with the creepy guy wanting the box from the top drawer: the solution to that is if he just HAD to open the door, he should've just propped his foot behind the door which would limit the amount of space he had to open the door and quickly give the guy the box. If the creepy guy pushed on the door, his foot would've acted as a door stopper.
The Craigslist story with the guy renting the room out: putting two and two together, knowing that the behavior of the guy was consistent every night, the way he ran off after being caught, and the "criminal" findings the investigators found out about the house kind of sounds like this guy had a woman or young lady locked up in the basement and was going down there to check on her/feed her/ do whatever he wanted with her. I chose this scenario because of the movies I've seen in the past sounds a lot like how this guy acted. On top of that I wish the renter would have waited a little longer to see exactly what the guy was doing.
Your Craigslist theory is interesting, but I feel that type of story would make the news in detail. I personally think it sounds more like a drug lab or something similar and that’s why they didn’t share details. The tear down of the house afterward would make sense because methamphetamine labs are extremely toxic, and the police sometimes demolish the contaminated building after a bust.
Put your foot out as a doorstop for a heavy hotel door and let’s see what happens when I throw all my body weight at it.

(this is about the first story) to be honest, I think every gas station/store should have a small handgun and some ammunition just in case someone breaks in planning to hurt them. I know this doesn't sound like a good idea, so maybe instead a police officer for when night shifts are happening?
That is not a revolver
At 8:46, the story lost me. Yes, it’s probably nit picky, but the narrator was very clear about her mother having a revolver (which is a great idea), then turning the safety off. Revolvers don’t have manual safeties, especially what would be a typical home defense model. They’re usually double action, which means they have a long trigger pull, making safeties irrelevant. Unless the revolver this person had was an old German model from the 30’s and 40’s, I have to call BS.

8:19 Do your animators not know what a Revolver is? Cause that is not a revolver. That is a Model 1911, a Revolver has a Cylinder which holds 5-7 Cartridges. and spins with each shot, and a hammer which strikes the primer of each Cartridge one by one when they line up with the Barrel and the trigger is pulled.
