When you can purchase 3-4 other products for the same price as OFM, then of course it's over priced. At least with some other brands, you get some brand name cache. $250 and when someone asks you what your wearing, you have to say "Date for Men", C'mon. LOL
Envy. Most of the hate towards Jeremy is just simply that. And to the people complaining about the cost of his fragrance... Well welcome to free market capitalism. If the market believe that the price is too high, then the sales will reflect it. Even though I can't afford his fragrance and would love to try it, I won't knock him for what he's created. After all, he has put the time and efforts into his creations, so good for him. I glad I found Jeremy's channel through your's, and people need to understand and appreciate the value of the knowledge that both of you share.

@@craigm8461 Oh please cut the crap. This whole "any criticism can only be jealousy" is garbage. I'm sure his fragrances smell fine. That doesn't mean they are automatically worth the asking price. Hell, he can't even sell them for the asking price with the constant string of offers. It's math. Take the Date fragrance, for the price of one bottle, you can get three or four other solid fragrances. That makes it overpriced. Jeremy's selling to fanboys.
Let him price it whatever price he likes, let people decide whether they’d buy it.

It is awkward he thinks he perfume is better and can be more expensive than Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, D&G, Armani and more.
His brand is no name, his fragrances aren't even good, not at all that price.
He has lost his mind
The core issue is that he betrayed alot of his fans that gave him the initial capital through kickstarter. He promised on his kickstarter that it would be a crowd-pleasing fragrance at an accessible price point which is why many fans pledged to support him. But after he exceeded his monetary goal, he flipped the script and priced it prohibitively high for much of his audience while pocketing their pledged money. It's just an action that speaks volumes of his character and values.

He had passion for perfume back then, and did suggest some decent ones.
I didn't agree with all of them, but he pointed ones at I own today and am happy I did.
A good percentage of them have retained their value , and some of them have went up in price nicely.
As far as ones like Invictus, I didn't care for , so I didn't buy .
He was full of himself back then, and still is, but that's ok too.
I don't care what people say about Jeremy......I like him, he is entertaining and his videos have helped me build a nice fragrance collection--quickly...

Jeremy was the first influencer to get me into collecting fragrances. I’ve purchased so many delicious perfumes thanks to his advice (many of which were blind buys). When he comes out with a perfume for women I trust that he will have someone create a scent I will love.

Agree, people didn’t have a backlash until her started doing top 10 fragrances and putting his at number 1 and saying that it was the best fragrance on the market, hands down.
Another point was raised - haven't been around long enough to demand that price. Longevity has nothing to do with price. Supply and demand, along with the promotion. That's it. The market will correct.

In my opinion Jeremy is the only person I actually enjoy watching fragrance reviews/ Videos the guy knows what he’s talking about and enjoys doing what he does. Also it is his fragrance he can price it at whatever rate he desires.

Basic economic theory dictates that at equilibrium where supply meets demand is where the price point will naturally be. Otherwise there will be a glut of unsold goods until prices are cut that is closer to the equilibrium point. He is basically betting on large profit margins on every bottle sold rather than selling at a lower price and more units sold.
@P Melkin I understand where you're coming from and don't disagree with your premise of his initial price setting being too high. I've read about the cost of production for fragrances and know that the per unit input cost is very low. That said, I do think he will be forced to drop his prices before long due to market correction. He'll probably introduce a "new affordable option" at a mid-tier designer price
@P Melkin I would love to know the ingredient cost of a bottle of Creed compared to a bottle of Savauge or something similar just to compare. It's probably a secret in the industry as they don't want you to know how obscene the profits are.

I am an anesthesiologists and must be very careful when wearing cologne at the hospital. With Office I smell so clean and pt’s all day long give me compliments. It makes no one nauseated and I’ve never heard anyone dislike it. How can it smell so good last so long and yet not be to intrusive..

I am so proud of jeremys resilience and determination, I hope he never looses his sparkle. He tells stories with perfumes and it’s fantastic
Here are my two cents on this:
1. Antonio conducted himself with great integrity. He was always cool, calm and collected.
2. About the two fragrances, I don't see where the problem is with them. We live in a market economy where people can sell and buy whatever they want. As others have pointed out before me, the market will decide if this product is overpriced or not. It's not a big deal.
3. About the guy, Jeremy: he is very straightforward, which is something most folks (especially in the US) are not accustomed to. Because of his accent, I'd adventure saying there are some implicit biased in the hate he is receiving. BTW, this is the first time I ever heard of him. I do not know him. I don't care either. But anyway, just in case folks did not figure this out yet, the more hate he receives, the more free marketing you guys are giving to his brand. I personally don't see anything wrong with him nor with his products. I am not going to buy them because I am not in the market for expensive fragrances (I never spend more than $100 per bottle, and the ones I have work just fine). But if Alberto Morillas is involved in the development of his fragrances, the fragrances have to be good!

Well Said - I don’t agree with the part that Americans don’t like straightforward ness. Most Americans I know tell you exactly what it is that’s on their mind - the British are more likely to say one thing and do something else! And yes Alberto Morillas brings an array of authenticity to Jeremys’ product.
The fact that Jeremy has put himself out there; shooting his own videos, doing his own advertising people can’t adjust to the Guy ....... a blogger You Tube turned into an overnight success.

I don't believe one thing you said. You don't know him before or know his product yet you can infer from just this one video to come up with your write up. Something is not adding up. The bottle looks so cheap for the price. I do believe you can put your product price as you wish, it's up to consumers to buy it or not.
I’ve met him in NYC, in person he’s not as hyped up like in his videos, he’s much more relaxed and chill. Almost like a different person but that being said, you have to give him respect for what he’s built and for being himself.
Jeremy's influence is legit tho, he legit got me collecting fragrances.

Jeremy was THE ONE who got me into fragrance when I was 15. I've been with him for 7 years now, and I'll always support him. I never understood the negative press, I don't own him, and neither do you. He does what he wants. It's his content we are after.

I agree at that price point the cheap looking bottle was a mistake as a high end price needs a high end bottle.Nautica Voyage is $15 for 100ml and the bottle is far better.

He was talking about Oud for like 5 minutes...
He makes large quantities. Therefore, he uses economies of scale. Because of this, ingredient prices are not expensive.
he said he could make a fortune if he sells it for 50usd each bottle. that means the actual production cost of it is super dirt cheap, probably below 20usd...and he sells them for 159eu and 220eu
The ingredients are low quality. I have said it over and over again.
Jeremy is an open book. Got to give it to him. And of course, has increased my understanding of fragrances 10 x!
i grew up in middle east.. wore oud all through school, my dad wore oud everybody wore oud and watching Jeremy he introduced me to a whole new world of amazing designer fragrances.
Jeremy uploads a tons of videos about compliments and the features of the the Fragrances, he helped me and the Fragrance community a lot and also i’m not forgetting about the others reviewers, in my perspective if i saw jeremy’s fragrance i will blind buy it as a support and to say thanks to him as long as he support and advice us for a long time 👌🏻
2 things:
1. as the great Paul Schmidt (crazy skateboard scientist) says "people vote with their dollars."
2. I know first hand: if you price yourself too low from the start you will spend the lifetime of the business proving you and your products are worth more. In other words...it's an uphill battle you may never summit.
3. Bonus comment: Antonio, great interview. Very insightful and much praise for giving Jeremy a chance to respond to the comments. Jeremy, good for you for stepping up and addressing the comments head on. Your reasoning and responses are rational, articulate, and measured. I respect you for that.
Jeremy spend more time telling us about everyone else fragrances and not much on his own so why all the hate? Head up Jeremy and keep doing what you do. Your fragrances are part of you and your taste. For anyone that has trusted you this far with your various suggestion should also trust your fragrances.

The thing I don’t understand is nobody is putting a gun to your head and telling you to buy it...imo Jeremy might find more success if he offered smaller taster bottles like 10-50ml instead of a full sized bottle, but even if he doesn’t, let him price his fragrance what he wants at the end of the day
I drive Lyft on the weekends as a side hustle. I picked up Jeremy from Venice yesterday, and he was a genuinely good guy! He was pleasant, polite, funny, and was interesting. A great conversationalist. Through our conversation, he told me he’s in the fragrance business and told me he does RUclips as well. I searched and found him here. He was not arrogant at all. I am not familiar with his work, but all the hate is confusing - he was nicer and more interesting than 99% of riders. Rock on, Jeremy!!!

There is no doubting that Jeremy is an absolute beast of a personality when it comes to persuading men to get interested in and wear fragrances. He definitely influenced me and many people I know. As for his business, he will either be successful or he won’t be (probably will be). What will be, will be.
i grew my massive fragrance collection from his picks, some i even bought blind just because he said, Jeremy isn’t a snob when it comes to fragrances, as long as it lasts a good time, projects well, smells good, and goes with the occasion, he will suggest it. lotta love for jeremy, keen to try his fragrance one day!

Lets be honest folks. There are many other brands that have a much higher price point than Jeremy’s fragrances. People will throw $250 or more to brands like Bond 9 and Creed. Yes they are more established houses but Jeremy is aiming for the high end market.
No shame in his game. Jeremy is a great reviewer and I give him a lot of credit for turning his dream into a reality. The fragrance community needs people like him.

I believe Jeremy's "arrogance" is fake.
He's acting arrogant on purpose to make his RUclips persona more interesting, otherwise, his RUclips videos would be like dull informercials.
Btw A lot of RUclipsrs put on a persona when they film. Some act eccentric, and some, like Jeremy, may act arrogant to poke fun at truly arrogant people.
That being said, I believe Jeremy is a truly nice guy, and that Antonio is a good judge of character, so he would not associated with Jeremy if he was truly an arrogant, self-absorbed guy.

There are differences between "arrogant" and "confident" adjectives. Jeremy rather comes across as a confident guy than an arrogant one. He really knows what he talks about and manages to convince us too. And that is a skill! If he is an arrogant man, why is he so popular? Most of people don't appreciate arrogance and still, he is the most popular influencer in a fragrance community! Being controversial isn't always the same as faking to get fame.

I LOVE Jeremy. He is the reason I started watching fragrance videos in the first place, he's the reason I started buying perfume again, and he's a consistently reliable source for passionate opinion. Love him through and through.
More established brands were also new at one time and started off charging hundreds of dollars as well. Jeremey is doing his thing. Everyone loved him at one time and now that he’s trying to brand himself, the hate is out of control. Jeremey is living and the dream and guess what? He worked hard. It’s amazing what hard work can do.
More established brands were not directly getting their money from RUclips followers.
TheMirabillis it doesn’t matter. We live in a different era. More established brands still advertised the way they could. Everyone advertise on social media and RUclips now because that’s what everybody is watching, just like more established brands used, magazines runway models, tv, all that stuff to sell. Get with the times man lol if anything, things are much more deceiving back then because we didn’t realize how deceptive advertising was. Now, it’s very easy to know who we should and shouldn’t support. You can either buy what he selling, or you also have the choice not to.

I just rewatched this now and til today, i don't understand why people are hating on Jeremy Fragrance. I think it's safe to say that a lot of the modern youtube-watching fragrance enthusiast is here because of this guy.
If his fragrance was like $50 it would sell 10x more. Many of Jeremys subscribers around the world would get questions such as "what fragrance do you wear?".
But if he decides to put a high price on it, then thats his choice. I will still enjoy watching his videos.
This is true for most products but not necessarily true for luxury goods. The economic concept is called a Veblen Good -- a product where demand rises as price increases. Think about it, if what you are saying is true for fragrances, then all fragrance companies would sell at much lower prices. The cost of producing, bottling, marketing a distributing a product is not anywhere close to $300 per bottle, yet many niche fragrances like those sold by Tom Ford, Amouage, etc. are priced at that level. These companies aren't stupid, there pricing at a level that maximized their profits, not their unit sales.

The more I watched Jeremy, the more I respect him. Haters gonna hate. The man has a vision and that's more than 95% of people.
Great video, love Jeremy and his authenticity. The pricing is fine, I have multiple bottles. The major issue i have with the brand is the terrible customer service and shipping times. It took over a month to ship both times and support doesn't respond. Other than that, the juice is good.

Truer words were never spoken. Words of wisdom.
Jeremy can ask for any price he wants. It's my decision to buy or not to buy his products.
But there is one caveat: he says of himself that he is the leading fragrance influencer. Which means he is in the position to mislead his audience about his closest competitors in the perfume production market, i. e. talking them down or simply ignoring his commercial rivals. Hopefully, he doesn't do this.
that's why he never includes fragrance one in his top lists.
You seem to forget that nobody cares what you think. A lot of people want to know why Jeremy is scaming them with his cheap fragrance that costs 220 euros.

@Nick I think if you look at the comments etc, it's mostly personal towards the guy. The guy did pretty well to get Alberto Morillas to make his perfume.. On top of that, any business man will tell you, that if you price a product low, and the demand is not there, you have a problem, in that you now have to go below productions cost and make a loss. . Rather price very high, and if it doesn't work, you can sell lower, and the market will perceive it to be a better deal.
@Nick lol yeh, they all in it, because they want it for cheap. Think of if like this.. Alberto Morillas has made plenty of perfumes for top houses. Most of these people who are complaining, basically paid for a nice looking bottle, packaging and a name. That's it. As Jeremy said, the cost to create a perfume is pretty cheap on most occasions. Yet people are prepared to spend more than $200 for a fragrance created by the exact same perfumer that Jeremy uses, only because it's from Dior or Chanel. Lol
I got into fragrance because of Jeremy. Say whatever you want to say against him but he still is the man when talking about fragrance. 👌🏻

Jeremy got me into fragrances 5 yrs ago he has my full support I understand what he is saying.
Jeremy’s a good lad. People are just jealous if you don’t like his fragrance or don’t want to risk a blind buy then don’t buy it it’s quite simple. If you think it’s too expensive then again don’t buy it.
People often hate on you because they are not you and often jealous of you, so keep doing what you do and ignore them.

I purchased office for men and I have to say it’s bang average!! I have many cheaper fragrances that perform and smell better, in my opinion. However, I have not lost any respect for Jeremy, think he is a good guy. Don’t understand the hate.
How can anyone calls Jeremy arrogant? He is the nicest guy on RUclips!
The main complaints are:
-Product(s) are over priced
-Can be compared / somewhat similar to other already well established fragrances
-Blind buy with nothing smaller to sample from
-Packaging does not compare with the "high end" image
I haven't sampled these products but at what point do you have to trust him? Let's be truthful and try not to be biased without reason.
-He has established a successful platform to express his thoughts, experiences, and general feedback when describing one of his passions.
-The fact he has used a highly successful fragrance maker to create his products.
-This is a learning experience for him.
The price is something that probably should be lowered, however I think he's correct in choosing to be an up-market brand. Simply and essentially because that is what he, the brand, and these products are.
I am sure in the future there will potentially be a lowering of price, and smaller sample sizes to become more accessible to a wider audience all while still maintaining the high end brand.
The reason why he has chosen not to make a niche fragrance is because he doesn't want to create a completely polarizing product and risk damage the brand.
If he makes a product like no other than it may be alienating to his target market, and become damaging to the image beyond repair. Why would he want to create something hit or miss in his first attempt(s)?
I am sure he will create something more unique and polarizing as the brand and success continues to develop.
The packaging I would agree is rather simplistic.
I believe it should reflect more of the brand image, even though he says it's because he wants to take the what you see is what you get approach. Nothing that couldn't be changed with the release of new fragrances though.
Nowhere has anyone said this product hasn't delivered on what he has promised.
Every legitimate review says that it smells good, projects well, and last a long time.
They are overpriced fragrances and it wouldn't be greedy if he lower the price in the $80 - $110 dollar range. His fragrances aren't really niche, they are more designer and it doesn't make sense to over price a designer fragrance.
Jeremy's process of description is good, painting a picture of the scent adds character and charm, a visual representation of something that doesn't have a face.
Jeremy looks tired.....his doing something amazing, working for his dream, for something he realy loves. If all of us have that same courage, he wouldn't have so many haters. Such let him work and do his best, of course, with mistakes....but is part of live!
It is also an anti-travalo bottle. You can remove the nozzle, but the tube is too wide for the port at the bottom of a travalo.
