What caught me off guard playing the Char mission the first time around was when I, very clearly, heard a Former scream “KiLL ME!”
That drove it home. This isn’t just an infection that turns people into mindless zombies; they’re still alive in there. They can feel everything you’re doing to them to stop them, and they can’t do _anything_ to hold themselves back.
I stopped looking for collectibles, that’s how badly I felt the problem needed to be dealt with. Like “Nah, brain fungus has GOT to go”

Fun fact: There are some unused voice lines for the kantus calling the lambent "Fire Walkers" because imulsion was basically liquid fire.

I am a bit surprised that you did not really talk about the lambent humans and the voicelines they have that imply that some part of the original person is still in there. Other than that great video.
I sort of didnt like the locusts being human in origin but on the whole i enjoyed the story of gears. It was pretty original and cool
Yeah I preferred and my main headcannon sticks to locust being a combination of natural Serans and genetic experiments. More about it in the History of Sera video

Why hasn't this game been rebooted or remastered yet?
Honestly on Series S/X Gears 2 and 3 look so good that I don't think they need a remaster. It'd be neat but I'd prefer to finish off Gears 6 and just close down the series.
