Lame and stupid. And the editing is annoying. It feels like the vid keeps jumping. Really bad.

How about a video on the use of a Professional McLane gas edger. And edging curved flower beds.
Thanks so much for the video. I've decided to let go of my "yard man" and start taking care of my own lawn in order to save money and this was a great tutorial.

Best weed eating video on youtube! Thanks
Thank you, and you're welcome!
australian here. our trimmers rotate same direction as you guys! on a straight shaft of course
Thank you. I was mostly kidding though!!
Watching a couple videos before my first day on the job, this was very useful. Im only 16 but I wanna show up this summer ready to work. Thank you 😊💪💪
good ambition!!
Flynn Riyadh don’t edge backwards or on top of the grass. On top of the grass you can’t see what you are edging and doing it backwards won’t be as fast as going straight forward
Why can’t I find a young ambitious chap like yourself by me
Thank you for being an upstanding young person willing to work! Not only work, but researching to do the best job. Wish you lived by me,I would hire you without hesitating.
I'm 17 turning 18 soon and I love this job and I'm finally.mastering this career and getting money,.I'm so proud of myself
Thank you sir
You’re welcome
Thank you
My pleasure
I love the inro till this day
Thank you
Directional edging ...keep the grass out of the flower beds!
You're good.
Thank you Jesse
Wow Thank you so much I will use your advice
You're welcome 😊
@@DansVlogIn every area across the US we run into different problems and honestly one thing I hoped to see covered by you was trimming out grass from around sprinkler heads. In my case our sprinklers were installed years ago but the lawn was changed twice. The grass is St. Augustine which grows very thick, so we wind up with every pop up sprinkler below grass line. The quickest way to clear it would be the string trimmer verses hand clippers or scissors. I just do not know how to best handle it without resorting to hand tools.
That undergrowth tip just helped me out tremendously.
My dad has a 4 cycle troy built that spins clock wise ! its about 5 years old. works well.
Cool 😎
Learning how to care for my own lawn for the first time, and this video is just what I needed. Informative, real tips and tricks, awesome all around 🔥
I like the metal one better than the plastic one more precisely seems to give it a more detailed work towards the grass than cutting it with the plastic.
I agree
You attacking the under growth before edging with the string trimmer is a game changer for me!! Im going to get me a string trimmer for Father's day tomorrow and can't wait to use that idea!!! Thanks!!
Thanks for being the dad I never had for 20 minutes. I’m so grateful that you took the time to make this so I can go clean my yard myself 🥰❤️🏆
Such a wholesome comment haha, hope your yard is lookin good!
'Preciate it man! I was NOT going to spend another 100 bucks on an edger attachment. Goodbye square shovel, hello Husqvarna 128LD!
Glad to help
Lmao, at the begging moving to the sounds of the weedwacker
Pretty neat, huh?
Dan's Vlog Yep
Fired the last bad gardener I ever hope to have. None of them ever did the job as you just illustrated. Undergrowth removal - great tip! I now own garden tools and, thanks to you, I'm not afraid to use them!
Yayyy!!!! Congratulations hun! I miss Miami. Grew up in Hollywood/ Pembroke Pines area
NICE! 9:42
Thank you brother
I always wear hearing protection, long sleeve short, long pants and a face mask/shield.
If you hold the throttle in your left hand and the shaft below the handle with your right hand with it upside down you can walk forward and it will shoot it behind you
Cool, thank you
The undergrowth tip alone was worth it. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
thank you for showing how to trim overgrowth on an untrimmed grass line. i just moved in and i have tons of overgrowth. i was making the mistake of trying to line it before cutting the extras. thanks for the tips.
Absolutely outstanding!
Yes, the toilet water does swirl in the opposite direction in the Southern hemisphere :)
Thank you lol
For the record, the head spins the same way in Australia (unlike the toilets). Oh and we call the machine a whipper snipper 👍
Ok thank You 🙏🏼
As a young man who has actually been cutting for almost 20 years,I best video I've seen so far ,
ive been doing it for almost forty years and this is the first guy thats fully legit
Ever since I had removed my String Trimmer Guard I have increased my accuracy and comfortability when doing my edges by at least 60%. I make sure that I wear safety glasses at all times and in some cases I wear a full face guard. Best thing I ever did for me at least is remove the guard. A neater job all round.
I tried to use the shield, it blocks too much of my view
@@DansVlog i never really had an issue wit the sheild but then again i never took it off to compare it, im gonna try tis summer
Thank you for the very helpful tips. I started using my string trimmer on over grown grass and had terrible time. I wish I had watched your video first. You make it look so easy :)
Hey buddy my name is Jerry sorry to bother you I've been watching the videos and they've been very helpful for me to the point where I just had to open up shop in my town I only have two customer I seen a video of yours where there you was advising to get some insurance to cover any property damage my question to you is what is the proper way to make the business legal and the eyes of the IRS thank you so much keep making videos where there I get my knowledge where I can provide top notch service thank you brother
Legal will have to do with city and state laws. You will have to check at your local city hall / building and zoning office if you need a license. IRS does not care what you do as long as you claim the money you earn as income and pay taxes on it according to your tax profile I.e. Sole Proprietor, LLC, S Corp etc
Dan's Vlog thank you for your reply brother
Just bought myself a Husqvarna 129Lk and have used it in the front and back yard . After strimming and getting abit of confidence after a day , I tried out your edging technique Dan and I felt like a pro on my first attempt!! Although I will continue practicing and getting better at the craft.
Thank you for help buddy 💪🏼
Excellent! Happy to read if your success
This is a great video. Lots of good tips. The guy knows what hes talking about. And he does a great job of trimming the lawn and teaching about it at the same time. Awesome bro!
I have a Remington Rustler weedwacker and it rotates clockwise
Cool, thank you
Cheap string trimmers rotate clockwise. I have one from Walmart, she was $79!
Gotcha!
Thanks. Very helpful.
only six months into this trade and I already like it.
thank You for sharing this video
simple explanation but helpful.
I have a question
I'm 5"11 something about the handles of a weed eater that makes it difficult to get one certain posture
for me to speed up.
I always feel awkward the way I'm standing or walking while edging...
any Idea?
Hahaha from Sydney Australia here. The rotation of the head on a commercial sniper rotates in an anti-clockwise direction looking down as you use it, conventional/residential snippers rotate clockwise. As for our toilets, mine just throws the water down haha
I was looking for this comment
Here in Oz we call them Whiper Snipers (Whip er Snip er)
That’s awesome!
Awesome training demo… I really like and understand the clock analogy.
Very clever intro and ending. When are these lawn care companies going to consider the weight of these tools for yard maintenance? It's not just men keeping up with the yardwork. My hubby mows and I'm the weed maid. I see where you have to hold the eater above the ground and use the tips of the string for the edging part. I don't have forearms like Popeye ya know! Ike-ike-ike!
Can you do make a string trimmer that is cordless, rechargeable and is not very heavy at all. They sell them at Home Depot and Lowe’s and they even have a wheel on them for when you’re edging your sidewalks. I hope that helps you and please let me know
@@DansVlog Brand names, please.
very detailed walk through and great tips. keep up the good work my mans!
You're the best dad I never had.
This is the best video on RUclips that demonstrates edging techniques. I learned a lot. Thank you Dan!
vmst80 Thank YOU!
Vertical edging technique - exactly what I was searching for - Thanks.
Great video. Very informative and helpful
Thanks for sharing👍
Very helpful! I never thought of hitting the undergrowth first when edging but it works GREAT! My yard hasn't been edged in over 40 years so thank you for making my life easier!
i like how simple you explain things. i just bought the stihl weed eater attachment (your recommendation) and am loving these vids on how to use it. thanks!
You’re welcome
Dan--you have a good, steady hand--it always looks easy when someone knows how. I tried this, and went through line like crazy and it was not as straight and true, but you have encouraged me. And a big THANK YOU for pointing out the safety side, it would be so easy to hit yourself, someone else, or a car, or whatever. Note for people in my situation, where people are coming and going constantly. Look often up and down the street, be sure no one is coming within "the line of fire"
Great content... Thank you
I had a new guy wear out a new weedeater head in two days last year on sidewalks. He had to finish the second day without letting the head touch the ground even in the grass. Then the next few days he got to use the heavy weedeater till the new wear cap come in. It was some good training learning the hard way. The next one lasted the whole season. Lol
This is simply the best video on RUclips about how to edge with a string trimmer. Comprehensive. Detailed. Perfect. Thank you.
Thank YOU!
Helped me also!
Another amazing video Dan! Techniques were very useful and you explained them in a beautiful way. I was about to buy an Edger alongside a trimmer but now you’ve taught me how to Edge with my trimmer!!! Thank you so much your a living legend!!
Great tips - thanks!
You make it look so easy that many will not understand that there is a talent to this as well. I am the voice of experience. I am very mechanical but have my problems edging and have learned the thing about weed eating first by trial and error. I am going to make sure I am using your angles when performing the actual edging. Thanks!!!
