Hello, Another fantastic video from the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. Greatly filmed, the train, the landscape and the colors. Excellent sound of steam whistles and locomotives. Thanks for showing and best regards from Germany

Appreciate that we can see the original film with natural sounds of trains and setting, and now a documentary version with dialogue describing the goings on. These two choices take the viewer right into the Durango and Silverton, with solid stable camera work and clear soundtrack. The whistles and hardworking locomotives are never distorted, even at close range ... and in other segments we get to hear the sounds of nature including the swift flowing waters. Top productions. Regards, John Brisbane Australia.

I wonder what steam locomotive that Taxes and Pacific whistle came off of if it was one of the 600 series 2-10-4 Texas type locomotives exemplified by number 610 and the somewhat forgotten 638 which was sadly scrapped that would be very cool

I think it may actually be a clone and not a true T&P Whistle after looking around online.

@@Big_Diehl aw perhaps it’s a custom shop built whistle from the DSNG machine shop

Beautiful captures! I’m curious, how do you record the audio for the drone footage? Is there a mic on the drone? If so how do you filter out the sounds of the propellers?

The sound is dubbed in from the camera on the ground… In one seen some creative liberties are taken with the whistle far away
