- In this video I take apart a free cracked LCD TV and try to salvage as many parts as possible. These parts can then be sold online for profit. In the end, I saved the following:
Power Supply
Main Board
LED Driver
TCON Board
LED Backlight
Speakers/Wires/Small PCBs
TV Stand
Prices for these parts vary from TV to TV so I recommend looking at sold listing on eBay for your particular model so that you can determine pricing. Keep in mind that it sometimes takes months to sell a part depending on demand, so I recommend cutting you prices below everyone else to increase the chances of selling.

I just picked up a flat screen and two Bluetooth speakers off the side of the road yesterday LOL not so much with the idea to sell the parts but mostly to use in projects but now that you say this I may look into doing so I see TVs laying around all the time

Great video and very informative.
Now not to nitpick but more of an FYI, on your screwdriver it looks like the type that has the spinning end. You can rest it to the inside ball across from your knuckle (idk name of it but where the end usually hits your hand). theres an indent on the spinner usually. Then just add a little pressure and you can spin the screwdriver with one hand and it will spin instead if other hand helping spin. Hope this isnt too confusing like I said Excellent Video!

Great video. The quality was fine. My son broke my new 70 inch LG TV while playing with his new Oculus Quest VR. Luckily they still sell the same one, and we bought another. Going to take out the boards and goodies to save for spare parts. Can't wait to take it apart tomorrow. I expect it to be similar. Obviously we will need to take a little longer and more careful look at screen removal if we plan to repair the new-newer one some day. Maybe we will make a video and post it (and my quality will likely be much worse, but help someone someday).

After a few years pulling tvs apart i usually BIN it - i only kept the plastic film thick perspect sheet handy .

Do you think you could spare a few minutes and help me out? I'm looking for a specific piece of a TV, I'll link a video down below with the time stamp if what I'm talking about, but basically the guy in the video uses different diffusers and such to diffuse the light from LED's. Go to 1:25 and you see him salvage a clear plastic sheet along with a white non-bendable sheet. I'm wondering if you could lend your expertise and give some insight into which TV's may have those, because from my experience not all of them have those layers. Any help would be much appreciated!

I concur. A great video! I was on here to find vids regarding salvaging electronic parts i.e transistors, capacitors, IR sensors etc (because I don't have the money to waste buying them for my little projects) and I was throwing out a small LCD TV and didn't want to zap myself in the process. So all in all this was educational and great content. Plus, now I have a better understanding of some TV components. Be Proud!!! Thankyou for uploading.

I'm thinking of either taking it apart and sell the parts as you suggested, or recycling the LCD panel for a smart mirror project, both or which are new adventures for me!🤣 Do you know if I want to reuse the LCD panel with a Raspberry Pi, what boards I would need to keep?

oh wow I found a dell U2719D monitor in its box with the screen busted and I thought it was done for. I looked online and it costs like $630 AUD new so the parts might be worth a bit (or maybe even replace the screen?). They say dell don't sell spare parts so I doubt I'd be able to get a screen for a reasonable price but seeing this I might look into selling the parts even just as a learning experience

Is it possible to use motherboard from a smart TV to get audio signal from computer HDMI port and convert it to optical? Or would that require to connect actual screen to motherboard and making some selections in its settings? You see, my old Samsung C750 just simply died on me. It does not turn on at all. Anymore. It does not even show the red light in a corner when powered off.
I have a 55 inch Vizio TV I can't log into my Wi-Fi and it freezes when I try to log in. I have to power off and back on to get it back to normal but when I try to log into wifi it freezes again. Is there a part I can replace on it? TV works fine it's been on the wall so it's not physically damaged in any way. It's probably some internals gone bad but I don't know much about fixing TV's.

Yea use a tripod so you don't have all that movement while you're trying to work on things. If you have to stop and move it to another spot, cut and edit still frame,thats all you need to improve my man.but other than that you got it

Thanks for the comment! It depends on the model, a budget 4k TV may only have $100 in parts while a high end Sony may have $500+. It's definitely worth a try though
Light diffuser panel?
I have two little TVs one is a 25 in and the other is a 22 the one that is a 22 has a cracked screen but you can see the upper half the 25-inch will come on and you can see the backlight but can't see the picture I can hear it but I can't see it when I press the menu button the menu doesn't pop up so I'm watching this to try to figure out if I can take one TV and put parts in the other to make the TV that doesn't have a cracked screen have a picture again? I mean they're like$100 at Walmart but I like messing around with stuff like this but at the same time I'm electrician and I know the hazards of putting electrical parts where they shouldn't be, I'm not trying to burn my house down just trying to fix my TV lol I think I can do it if I figure out what all the parts are and what they do and just change that out.

Just stick to your guns n keep at it. The more videos you put out the better.
How much money we can get from that parts of smart tv?
Would that have been worth it to you to replace the screen? I got a hold of an LG 43" 4K, & a Vizio 50" 4K. Think both are Smart TVs. The LG may have a backlight problem & the Vizio does work but the screen is messed up. Not sure if it's really worth the $$ to replace the Vizio screen. Walmart (Best buy too) has some similar 43" & 50" 4K TVs for affordable prices!

I was able to sell all of the circuit boards within two or three weeks. I never listed the Stand, Backlight, or Speakers because they either weren't worth it to ship or the competition was too cheap. In total I made about $120 profit, and I consider it worth the 2 or 3 hours I spent parting out the TV, packing everything, and listing all it on eBay.
@@randomtech3533 I found the shipping was the thing that killed me. Did you pay for shipping, or have the buyer pay. And did you sell at a set price or auction? I tried setting a price and eBay wants a LOT of money up front and not refundable.

man, i'm just trying to find more info about the lenses, and how to buy the lenses, and every video and article just doesn't mention these things.
It's a Fresnel lens.
I was hoping to see some info about the lens as that is what I was specifically looking for, to be honest.
However, aside from that, I liked the video. Your audio is clear and easy to understand so that's a plus. I would recommend a tripod or some kind of mount but one that articulates easily to new positions as you don't have a partner doing the shooting.
Also, from information I've learned from other sources, the lens can be put into a frame and used for heating things and even starting camp fires. You might have an opportunity to do a project like that if you kept it.
Hope you are keeping up with the production, I don't see anything wrong with what you're doing.
Buy a cheap fresnel lens, they sell thin plastic ones at craft stores. Only cost a couple dollars and they're flexible, so they won't break. Same thing lighthouses use, but you can diffuse or concentrate light, all you gotta do is flip it over.
@@Bl00dYtW3aK3r At the very least you need a 36" fresnel lens, and a spot lens at that, in order to do the cooking and things I'm after. The "cheap" ones are just that - "cheap."

Apparently throwing them on the side of the road is the new recycling program people have come up with 🤣. On a serious note, if you take all the components out, is it still an issue of disposal or have you removed all the toxic elements? Or is it the screen itself that is toxic?
I wish it was easier to simply purchase a new screen. I'm looking to convert my old 32 inch samsung lcd tv to a smart tv using my Samsung Smart TV with a broken screen.

I also have sony Bravia 43 smart but broken so I just wanted to sale whole Tv but all said crack screen so only 8 to 10 dollar you can sale all.
But I just wanted speaker so I will convert into bluetooth .
And all other items I will give it for free . My mom is just giving in the scrap for 5 dollars 200 rs . I said no. Hahahahah. Thanks bro

Most genius parts r the cheapest!? Why not buy screen 4 this?!. Don't forget the remote every bod. Sell or reuse.that. hardest part disassemble and reassemble perfectly.!!
