Will never forget the PlayStation magazine review said this game "had the same plinky plonky music as the first crash." Are you kidding haha this soundtrack is unbelievably brilliant!!
Unfortunately, even skilled musicians are known to reject the works of other skilled musicians. From a purely objective stand point, this level of composition is above what most people can grasp.
How people can say games aren't art amuses me. Infact, it's like a mash of 3 very important sections of art (Storytelling,Visual, and Musical) While integrating it's own 4'th element, player interactivity. This song so wonderfully describes the level itself without you even needing to take a look at it. Slow and gradual buildup... and you Crash readies himself for a leap.... unsure, but excited... the jetpack is secure, he takes a running start, and blasts forward! Ahem... In any case, a brilliant piece from a brilliant game. Josh Mancell, you are a genius, and your music is forever intertwined with my childhood T-T
LuigiMan1800 Raven Kurōdo I swear guys, you just never know what comments are gonna get activity. I actually thought most people would disagree with me xD
Some video games can be art. Earthbound, Mother 3, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Portal, etc. But it has to tell a good story. Crash 2, though? No. This is a silly game about a trouser-wearing marsupial fighting a mad scientist and riding polar bear babies like they're razorbacks. This is not a good game to use as an example for your argument.
I always loved how the music progressively gets faster. It sort of reflects when a player is learning for the first time how to use the jetpack and once the player gets used to it they progress through the level faster. I see what you did there Naughty Dog, good job ;)
It's amazing how complex this music is... from how it speeds up at the beginning to having all the different bits of it.... Epic. The levels were awesome too!
Me gusta cuando las mejores partes del juego están cerca del final, es la recompensa para los que juntamos todas las gemas y cristales de niveles pasados antes de presenciar la genialidad de los niveles del quinto mundo xD
It only took a year or less to create each sequel for the Crash trilogy. Games today would blow up with such a short development time. Game devolvement these days may be bigger in scale but they also have larger teams, bigger budget, more development time, established game engines with tons of documentation, and access to the internet and yet they still turn out to be broken, buggy messes most of the time. I really have to admire game design from years ago that had to create there own engine and work with huge constrictions.
So true. Also let's not forget they got the entire Crash trilogy out with like 200MB of RAM and that's best-case scenario. And they all had to come out perfect on first release. No second, third and millionth chance to do "patch updated and bugfixes" like todays devs do it. It either came out playable or it went down the drain.
Esta música le fue muy de acuerdo al nivel tan épico que se jugaba, creo fue el primer nivel de crash que realmente no me esperaba, ese salto de controlar a crash de esa manera era de las cosas que le daban sentido a mi vida cuando niño xD
The controls were what made these missions challenging because they were inverted, i loved it! and this track is one of the most epic Crash Bandicoot tracks out of the original trilogy

This song I had on repeat one night and then a cat I was close to passed away. I had to move on of course, but she did not deserve to get sick and it was somewhat traumatic still when I heard this, 3 years later.
Me too. I also hope they have an option to switch between the original and remastered like in audio, voice acting, (but without the proper lip sync.) and other things.
I love how the title screen foreshadows this playstyle before you even play the game. You think it's just a cool style thing and forget about it until you reach World 5, and now you FINALLY get to use the Jet Pack yourself!
I loved Twinsanity and Tag Team Racing. It offered a 3-D roaming adventure game for the first time in Crash history, and I found both games to be hilarious and entertaining :)
The composer of the old Crash games was Mark Mothersbaugh of the band Devo. He also did the soundtracks for Rugrats, Rocket Power and Peewee's Playhouse!
It felt so good to finally get to this level in the game. This was like the ultimate thing in CB2, hell they even showed it in the opening. It's kind of like in CB3 with the wampa-fruit bazooka.
How the Jetpack controls work: Move the analog stick up to fly downwards Move the analog stick down to fly upwards Press X to move forwards Press O to move backwards How I would have prefered it: Press X to move upwards Don't press X to move downwards Move the analog stick in WHATEVER FREAKING DIRECTION YOU WANT TO FLY TO ...seriously, who thought those controls would be a good idea?
