Re-discovered this band after Robbie’s docuseries on Netflix this month. Forgot how great they were! Robbie is so charming and funny for as young as he was.
Here I am at 59, just "discovered" these guys, and you now have a new, old timer, fan. Awesome lively performances, looks like their hearts a really in it.
Jason orange lived around the corner from me in Benchill Manchester was always a brilliant dancer and very ambitious I remember us all dancing on Lino .Breakdancing in our Civic Centre ..Love Take That !!!
Rediscovered Robbie recently, and even here at the age of sixteen, he has it, sexy even then I a young way. Definitely wasted in a boy band, he is meant to be shine on his own, as he now does,x💕
when TT arrived I didn t notice but the few times that I saw them on tv I could feel Robbie had something special, Freedom got me at once and I have never left his music since then
Was never a take that fan but was same sort of age as Robbie so aware of their songs. Always loved Robbie’s swag though! Just loved his energy, the way he came across and his dress sense. Some of his outfits still look cool in 2023! Here, his energy and performance was off the scale and aesthetically, he was on point. It’s a shame that he struggled with addiction, overeating at times and other things as that often affected his looks adversely when he was a naturally very good looking young man.
Oh god yes! If have been looking for dvd's but they're not available. I still have them all on vhs but I don't have a videoplayer anymore (and I have a feeling the video's don't work anymore). I think I can still remember every single move!

I just saw the live in MAnchester, 5 little boys doing their best to perfom for their family friends very happy to see the pop band. I saw how you the dancers and singers wereqo dinamic, smiling , jumpig....................... IT was very spectacular to look at you.......................... AMAZING!!!! WINDERFUL !!!!! AWESOME........................ Congratulations dears!!!!!!

Robbie did hit it with this song which catapult Take That once again to stardom. Unfortunately he wasn't interested being in the group anymore which led to his departure in mid 90s.
No, Robbie left almost a year later. I will never forget the day it happened. A whole tour in Germany was in spring of 1995 and in the summer of the year '95 he left.
No, I don't think so. Barry Manilow is not dead, first, and second They sang together with Barry Manilow, doing a mix of his song, the slow version and then take that cover, not so many years ago...
I understand why Robbie Williams was disliked. He isn't taking the song seriously. In fact, he's taking the piss out of it. I see why Gary never liked him. Robbie would have been better off in a rock group. Also, they were handled like a white version of A new jack swing group. Being British and white, they can't pull it off. Just look at songs like Pray. Great song, performed well. If that had been performed by New Edition or After 7. It would have been more authentic
Um , at the time, in the UK Robbie was the most popular . You're mistaking showmanship for fooling around. He's not taking the piss he's getting the audience involved, showing off his vocal rasp & throwing in some moves to wind the fans up some more. This was when he was very unwell with alcohol & drug addiction. His "blonde hair" period.
@@Riviere8281 He's obviously not dead yet, that part was a joke. As for him performing with Take That, they must have paid him a LOT of money ... and I suppose it introduces him to some potential new fans who might spend money buying more of his back catalog. Manilow was smart, he owns everything in his catalog - so I'm also sure he's made a lot of money from the Take That version. Take That's version is still super awful, cringeworthy isn't a strong enough word, but if it's made Manilow a lot of money I'm sure he's grateful.
Here in the US, I think I discovered Take That through this song, having heard there was a remake, and being a Manilow fan. This is one of the better renditions from Robbie. It's obviously quite different from the original, but kind of fun if you let it stand on its own. Gary Barlow is a big Manilow fan, which I did not realize at the time. Makes sense when you listen to his many ballads. Watch the 3 of them singing this song at the Children in Need benefit. It's very fun...tho' Robbie is a bit off in tone.

How old was Robbie here? 24?
19 or 20
He was 20. It was in autumn of 1994. Do the math if you know when he was born.
Barlow is really struggling with the dance routine here.
obviously.

If he were dead, Barry Manilow would be rolling in his grave with this silly version of his masterpiece. Quite fun though.

him and Barry did a duet!!!!!

Wow that was beyond awful. Barry Manilow must be rolling in his grave lol I'm sure he's happy getting paid royalties though :/
He is not dead, and He was so happy that a few years ago, He performed together with Take take, singing this song.
