Thank you. I plan on it. I am limited to my access to Studio 5000 software when campus is closed, but plan on picking back up when the semester starts.

@@TheCommonSenseProfessor I definitely needed you as an instructor. I’m subscribed and will be definitely watching your videos for refreshers. I mainly deal in robotics but I want to get back to mainly focusing on controls.

I am using the latest version of Factory Talk Studio ME. I have to go to my lab to make sure, but I think our HMI's are on revision 9.

I am having trouble getting my HMI (virtual - like yours here), see my virtual PLC (Emulator 5000). Do you have any ideas as to why I can't get them to see each other?

Yes, unfortunately if there is a way to use Emulator 5000 with an HMI, I am unaware of the process. I downloaded to an actual PLC in this video. I wish I knew how to accomplish this. This person says it can be done, but I have had not luck myself: www.dmcinfo.com/latest-thinking/blog/id/10141/emulate-a-studio-5000-controller-and-connect-to-a-factorytalk-view-me-project

Im in the process of acquiring RS 5000 for my employer. AB distributors offered Factorytalk as a separate option, would you consider FactoryTalk as a necessity or requirement.

Hello Martin. Yes, I would definitely want Factory Talk too if my employer offered it. It is hard to find a PLC that is not connected to some form of HMI.

Output is diferent story you need jsr to make it hapenned, make video on that one .

Can you clarify? Output of the PLC or monitoring output with HMI? I am not sure why either one would require a subroutine. Thanks.

I have Failed to connect Link may be broken do y ou prefer cable conection or over wifi with I use now ,or driver maybe issue?

If you have issues, then yes, I would use ethernet cable to make sure the problem is not within the Wifi connection. Depending on the model, USB connection is the easiest to set up if you have that option.
