Beautiful performance. I just started playing this piece and I have a question. In the beginning, the 4th chord in the right hand: C,(b)D,C My hand is not big enough to play this chord. So I what I try to do is slide my thumb a half step from the D flat down to the C. But in the video, it doesn't look like you play the C at all. Is it okay to do this kind of thing? This is actually a problem that pops up in many pieces I've come across. Usually in these situations the strategy I tend to use is to try and roll the chord as best I can. I've thought about omitting notes from chords I can't reach but the problem with that I find is that I can never decide which note to omit. Is there some criteria that exists that could help inform me about who to do in these situations?
I think that as long as removing a note doesnt affect how the melody sounds it doesnt matter. Either way, its a jazz song not a classical piece so its not as demanding to stay true to the sheet music here. Many jazz players just start improvising half way throught the song.

FYI I can't hit the C and C# together with two fingers, no one can. The trick is to play the both with your right thumb. Hit the edge of the c# with the pad of your thumb and you can easily press C as well. Bolcom wasn't a great transcriber, he should have annotated stuff like this.
Maybe a mistake at 0:28 - the thumb doesn't play the Bb there like it does in the first section. It looks like you're transferring the Bb from the top of the left hand chord to the right hand, but that puts it in the wrong place
Mistake at 2:39, you're not supposed to hit the Bb with your thumb when playing the F, the F plays alone. Granted it's nearly impossible not to hit the Bb after learning the whole piece.
Are those A.I. hands playing ? In any case, this is really faithful to the original William Bolcom playing , with the correct lilting style of syncopation . So many pianists play it without the swing style . Bravo !
So many pianists play it without the swing style because at the beginning of the sheet it’s specified “don’t drag”! It means, at least according to this sheet, that this piece is not to be played in the swing style. So the way the pianist plays it is wrong!
Faithful? Immediately he doesn't play the C octave with flat in second bar?? Still nice though. I prefer Aaron Robinson version on yt playing with the swing etc and a few ornaments halfway through. I prefer playing it swing even though it's supposed to be straight

I keep playing 1:49 over and over, something sounds wrong there, but the notes you're playing look right. It's when you play the Bb and Ab in the left hand. Something sounds too dissonant there but I can't figure out what it is. Did you accidentally hit some other notes with other fingers of your left hand?

피아노 반주 굥장히 까다롭네 ㅋㅋ 악보를 보고서야 왜 모든이들의 이 곡 연주에서 피아노 반주가 살짝 버벅이는 느낌인지 이해함. 이거 배속한건가요? 실제 이 속도로 이렇게 클린하게 연주하기 넘 빡셀것 같은데 ㅎㅎ

이 곡 연습중인데요 궁금한게.. 16분음표 3개 또는 4개 나오는 부분도 당김음으로 치셨는데 의도하신 건지 아니면 싱코페이션이 의도치않게 전곡 내내 들어간건지 궁금해요 모든 16분음표 3-4개 나오는 부분을 다 그렇게 치셨더라구요
재즈+클래식 같은 오묘한 곡이라 재지한 느낌을 좀 더 살리고자 스윙 리듬으로 치시는 분들 많더라구요. 원곡에는 끌면서 (스윙 느낌으로) 치지 말라고 리듬 제시 되어있긴 합니다
