To everyone commenting and the boricuas out there. Thank you for the explanation and the insight on what’s going on in PR. I wish you guys the best and better people put into power over there 🇵🇷 ❤ LOS AMO
Hello, Boricua here 🇵🇷 Just came across this channel and i love watching people interact with anything related to Puerto Rico. To give some context the song was released exactly 7 years after hurricane maria hit Puerto Rico. He mostly sings about how We were hit hard by it and what we went through and how the goverment hid supplies and only went out to take pictures of them “helping” communities, and how their actions and inability to properly prepare caused deaths and how we have the signs already and its time to take action. Theres a line that says “The goverment wants to hang us from a palm tree and one day we will take it down.” one of the political parties has a palm tree as their logo. He also says how “its starting to rain and theres a storm coming and it might be a hurricane” We’re in the caribbean so we get a lot of storms but it might also be a metaphor for the upcoming elections. I hope that provides a little more understanding! And i appreciate yall for taking from your time to listen to our music❤️🇵🇷
This song was made for Puerto Rico people to wake up and vote this November. The actual government in the power right now is the same administration from 7 years ago when Hurricane Maria passed from P.R. ❤ The song calls the candle because the problem with have with the electricity.😢😢😢
He mentioned all the struggles the people from PR is having right now since Hurricane Maria, and is not fear that we vote for the same government again. Also, today December 20th, was 7 years Hurricane Maria passed from Puerto Rico.
Is amazing to see the reaction of so many people around the entire world. I have to thank everyone here and everywhere, I’m Puertorican I know how important is for my island, keep sharing , we really need the help 🙏🏽
💥🕯💥You have to understand the context; the song is literal... Let me explain, for our neighboring and distant countries..."... ... Puerto Rico is going through hurricane season, and today marks 7 years since Hurricane Maria. On a night like this, P.R. was trembling, waiting for the sun to rise, and he’s remembering how the government screwed us even more than we already were in 2017. 5,000 people died in the hurricane, and we still have a very weak energy system, where most of the time we don’t have electricity, and we have to rely on candles (now most people have generators, solar panels, and still candles), and the elderly are the ones who suffer the most... We are in election season, and it's the moment to remove a government that’s more than corrupt and has mistreated the country in every way. Here, a Boricua... 😉✌️🇵🇷. Oh! The rhythm comes from Puerto Rican Bomba, an Afro-Caribbean style. Blessings.❤🌀 Remembering: Category 5 Hurricane, September 19-20, 2017.😊
