I am a Hmong-American citizen. My grandfather and many close relatives fought in the Secret War as American allies. What this video didn't cover was the negative repercussion against the Hmong people (and neighboring hill tribes) after the CIA pulled out of Laos. The title of this video is misleading because many people (men, women, children, babies) were left behind to be tortured and executed by the Pathet Lao. It was a mass genocide and so many innocent lives were lost because they wanted to help the US. The only weapons that the Hmong had to defend themselves against the Pathet Lao were what was left of the weapons that the CIA had left behind. Those who were fortunate enough to survive fled to other countries as refugees. I was a child born in one of the refugee camps in Thailand.

As I'm Thai myself, after I was read this, I feel guilty also, the soldier that fight beside US is Thai's soldier also, after the US release, Thailand didn't help hmong too much as we can, we are sorry about it

You are right Vue. When Americans left Laos, they did so in a big hurry. Fortunately, many Hmong were able to escape to Thailand and, then, to the US. I have worked with Hmong and have more respect for them than I do for my own race. The men are loyal and the women are very strong willed. You have a friend here!

Talk about a suicide mission. Only 2 guys charged with the task of disrupting their operations... Often not able to have weapons.. Against an armed militia. And they improvised without weapons. And this badass made it through that and got home.

the Hmongs were the majority but it wasn't exclusively Hmongs...there were Mien, Lahu and Tai tribals too that made up the forces, that's why there are also Mien and Lahu people in America.

He forgot to mention that the Americans eventually lost the war and abandoned their Hmong allies. Just a minor inconvenient fact, I guess.

We won the battle, but we lost the war due to political stability…
