I've been to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and loved it so there. My family reunion was in Nunely, Tn and that was the best vacation ever! Love, Love, Love Tennessee, My granddaughter lives in Knoxville.
I must say, and I have never complimented anyone on you tube. Hands down, you all are 10 out of 10 on your balance of beauty, conversation, personality, and sincerity. Ive watched you all for over a year and I have watched you grow better month by month. I think what drives the improvement is your passion for what you do. God Bless.
When I was a kid my grandpa used to have a saying. "A vacation consist of two weeks which are to short in which you are too tired to return and too broke not to." Lucky me I live in Michigan!
18:25 totally agree! We have done many trips cross country, mainly out west. Pack what you can and hit as much as you can! Everything weve done has been within 10 days and the most was just over 6000 miles. We've done it from a Subaru, truck and pop up camper and most recently our class c RV!
🤣 we rented a minivan a few years back and did a 6,000 mile loop of the country with 4 kids in 14 days. It was epic, crazy, exhausting, and memorable. AZ, East to the U.P., then west to Rushmore than south. Ghost towns, random camping, and getting lost. It was awesome! Thanks for the 7 great places :)
This... THIS is what is really is all about @Amy Weinholtz. So glad that you shared a comment like this. These are the things we remember and talk about as long as we live. This kind of adventure that is exactly why we decided to what we are doing on the road with our kids. Gosh - what a wonderful story and comment. Think about the smell of a campfire and remember when....
We’ve been watching you from when you released your first video as we want to RV. Hubby retired next month and we just put a a deposit on an RV this week...so one step closer!
I loved that you mentioned Michigan. Being from Michigan, it is such an overlooked gem. The summers here are unbelievable. It's the only thing that makes up for the long winter 😂
I would have to suggest the southwest corner of South Dakota. You can go to any one of many rv parks near rapid city. And from there you are within 90minutes of devils tower, spearfish canyons, deadwood, Sturgis, needles highway, iron mountain pass, Mount Rushmore, crazy horse monument, badlands national park, and Custer state park. If the weather isn’t cooperating you can still drive these areas without the hiking. But hiking in the black hills is unreal. And as a bonus you don’t need to move the rv the whole week. So much more fun at night not having to worry about moving the following day. No matter where you decide to go enjoy it. Good luck and God’s speed.
We flew from Toronto to Calgary, rented an RV. Travelled to Banff, Jasper, over to BC to the Vancouver Island, to Pacific Rim NP and then thru the Okanogan Valley back to Calgary in 2 weeks. Its doable and totally worth it. I love your channel and look forward to a national park RV trip in the US once it's open again.
I'm from Michigan, but have since moved to Florida. I miss walking in the grass barefoot, and summer in Michigan. I love Florida but Michigan is a gem.
We loved our trip up to Glacier NP and Going-to-the Sun Road. We also crossed over the border to visit Waterton Lakes NP in Canada and spent the weekend at the Prince of Wales Hotel on the lake. So picturesque! Memories of a lifetime adventure! 🏆
KYD - Trish/Marc: Going to the Sun will not be opened this year. This was a recent announcement so you may have missed it in being away from Internet connectivity. Love the shirts we ordered!
Went on a Harley road trip with no plan, ended up going through Glacier and wanted to go up into Canada but we hadn’t brought along our passports ☹️.......so now I NEED to go back 😉😉😍
A life long Michigander here. Michigan actually has two National Lakeshore Parks. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore AND a island 6 hours out in Lake Superior, called Isle Royale which is a National Park. Michigan’s only National park! Just to clarify! Isle Royale is a 100 miles Long Island with hiking for end to end. Full of moose and wolves. Both protected there. Well worth the trip!
When I was a kid back in the 70's, my parents would start planning the family trip in spring. Each one of us 3 kids would be given a special place we were going to visit, and we were to research what we would do when we got there. We took the same trip you are on right now, and it was one of the most memorable times of my life. I got yellowstone and the tetons on that trip. Have fun, and stay safe.
Thanks for all your great insight and your preaching to the choir. Flew into Phoenix from Wash D.C. picked up a 39' Travel America rental. From there to Sedona- Monument Valley- Four Corners/Silverton/Uray - Moab- Bryce- Zion- Grand Canyon and back, with kids. Best 2 weeks ever. Our first RV, almost took out a gas pump first day, no issues after that. Some day we will have our own RV.
As a Tennessee girl you warmed my heart when you mentioned the Smokies (and the Bourbon Trail in KY)...yes! It gets very crowded over that way but we're close enough we can sneak in, hang around, then get out as quiet as the wind. Love this video and love my " 2020 Summer to Remember" baseball tee! Well done!! :-)
We have been camping for over 42 years but my son and his young family just bought their first camper and I sent a copy of this video to them. I really enjoy your videos. Have fun.
My hart is in pain !!! we were supposed to visit USA this August for 2 months visiting all National Parks in California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona. Thanks to Covid it is postponed till next year. From Perth Australia Thanks for your amazing videos, America is so beautiful.
We were just at Yellowstone and Grand Teton 6/23 - 6/24. We packed in an awesome trip in 7 days. Left Dallas and flew to Omaha NE for 2 days then rode the Amtrak California Zephyr to Salt Lake city and rented a campervan to drive up to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. We camped in the van 4 nights. We never stayed in one campground more than one night. Turned the awesome campervan back in at Salt Lake city then flew back to Dallas. We fit it in a Saturday to Saturday week. The best vacation so far! Love your videos! It gives us inspiration! Keep it up!
Thank you for reminding us how lucky we are to live in this beautiful country from sea to shining sea! Trish, I know you have received several requests for recipes or even a cookbook creation. You have a relaxed attitude toward feeding your family that comes across as being relatively healthy. Example, the way you were nonchalantly setting the picnic table for you and Mark. Your meal selection looked fantastic for a picnic. Heck, it’s not like the family grocery store is located around the next tree! PS: Everyone needs to add a Blackstone Griddle to their inventory. This is the best method for fast and easy cooking!
Here is our six day trip. We left SLC up into Wyoming into Devils Tower. Then over into Mt Rushmore. Then over to Cody. We drove thru Yellowstone then back down into home. It was a crazy 6 days in a rented van with 6 of us. We loved it!
Hi kids at 65 we retired and full time in a Tiffin. That loop Tetons to Glacier is just amazing. We have done it twice and going through there next summer on our way to British Columbia. After listening to this video your enthusiasm for our country is wonderful. This country this continent is really special. We travel in a loop 3 months 6 months at a time. Pick your farthest destination you make in a week with stops and go for it! Safe travels......M
Hello from the Mitten! I always love to hear people talk about how they love our beautiful state. Also.. we do have a National Park, Isle Royale in Lake Superior.
Yes! The Hidden Gem of the National Park System! Part of me doesn’t want KYD to expose this park but it truly is a special park that very few will ever see! Grab your backpacks Mark & Trish! Take your kayaks! Ride the ferry from Copper Harbor to the island and spend 10 days hiking in one of the most magical places in the US!
I did grand haven with some friends when I was 16 and I absolutely loved it. One of my favorite trips. Did some of my best photography there. Can’t beat their sunset
Michigander here. We are so underrated when it comes to travel, but we have such beautiful sights. The beaches and waterfalls, especially, are just top notch.
You guys are great, can't get enough of your videos. Our daughter just graduated high school and I said to my husband let's buy an RV and travel, he said sure we can do that in about 10 years when I'm closer to retirement and I said No dear NOW. I showed him your videos and we both now have the inspiration to do it sooner then later. Thank you I'm so excited to start this journey
The couple seemed to miss the Lake Superior shoreline. The Soo Locks, Pictured Rocks, The Keweenaw, Porcupine Mountains are the top sites to see in the UP and experience Yooper Land.
Loved this video. We have an Airstream and are not retired so we get two weeks at most. We do wild trips and we love it. Last year we started in Ft. Lauderdale and went all the way to Acadia and back in 14 days. We even spent 3 days in NYC. Some people think we are crazy but we love it. We get to experience so much. Thank you for justifying our crazy.
Love , love love Mich... travelled all over US, Canada, Mexico .... "unsalted and sharkfree" ..I have a stockpile of those blue oval bumper stickers ....from Pittsburgh. Largest single fresh water resource in THE WORLD
We've spent the maximum 14 days in Yellowstone twice plus another 5 day trip there. We are 33 days into Yellowstone and we only feel like we've scratched the surface. Bottom line is we are blessed with some amazing places to enjoy in our beautiful country. There will never be enough time. Go enjoy all you can enjoy in the time you have and then take some more time and then do it again...
Love this video! We leave tomorrow in our new rig for our first RV trip. Just a short two day getaway to learn the ropes, but we will take what we can get! Thanks for the awesome travel suggestions!!!
My wife and I just got back from our first trip. We rented a TT for a week and drove to the Adirondacks (350 miles). We took a day trip to Lake Placid, beautiful drive. I got to experience the Stinky Slinky and even a trailer flat tire. Weather was a little rainy but, we still loved it. Retiring soon and looking for our own 5th wheel. Love your channel.
Nice. We are RVing next week for the first time in 10 years. Yosemite, Sequoia, Mojave, Grand Canyon, Tahoe. One month on the road!!! So excited...your videos have encouraged me and my son (10) to make some memories!!!
Just finished 5 weeks in the southwest! Grand Canyon, Page, Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Moab and Durango. Thanks to KYD for keeping us inspired! Been watching since almost the beginning.
I was in Yellowstone 2 yrs ago and spent 5 days there and was busy all 5 days. I have been to a lot of the places you have been, and I enjoy your videos as they refresh my memories of being there. So glad you still enjoying traveling and have had your kids with you. You are creating memories for all.
Love this! Thank you! My mother and I camp throughout the summer since I am mostly off. Love that you grouped some epic stops together. I, also, love that you said people in TN are a little extra nice. 😊 I am a lifetime Tennessean and saw when you were here and had a struggle trying to get your RV repaired. I was hoping that didn’t ruin TN for you.
In 2018 did two week loop:from western NY Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Tetons, Jackson hole, Salt Lake City, Bryce, Zion, Las Vegas, Rte 66, Grand Canyon, four corners, Mesa Verda, Colorado, Evel Knievel museum. 6200 miles. Amazing !!
We lived in California’s Central Coast for over 22 years. Loved it. Now, we are in the Prescott, Arizona area and love it. We live vicariously through you until we buy our trailer!
One of the best photos I have of my Mom is her sitting on a rock looking over the Painted Desert at just the right time of day...so I cannot emphasize enough how important *what time of day you arrive* is! Sun angle and shading from the land are *critical* for Western monument viewing while time of year is more critical to traveling the PCH. If you arrive at the Grand Canyon or Painted Desert at noon, well, it's a big ditch pr a wide area full of rocks. Big whoopee ding dong. Flowering fields make the coast route unforgettably gorgeous with the yellow flowers covering the hillsides, and even more spectacular that just the cliffs and water while the PCH in high dry summer is impressive on the water side but rather meh otherwise.
Camping outside of Boston makes a wonderful all-in-one trip. Take the subway in and walk the Freedom Trail, see national historic landmarks, museums, whale watching, tall ship excursions, drive to the beach, Cape Cod, and Salem, Mass. You get history, art, the ocean, and camping - ALL the vacations! And never have to move your rig.
Love this list! We’ve done Utah Rocks + GC. The SW is our favorite place on earth. Can’t wait to hit up the Tetons. Your lifestyle inspired us to invest in a camper. We’re not full time but we’re out bout every weekend.
Thanks for the video. We rented an RV last year. From CT. Went south to Myrtle Beach and up through West Virginia and PA. We got what you call “RV Bug”. We bought an RV and this year we are doing 3 weeks. San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse all in 3 weeks from CT. So we’ll get a little taste of everything. We’ll let you know how it goes! We’ll do Michigan Next year.
I can't tell you how happy I am you made this video! We are weekend warriors, and unable to travel at the leisurely pace a lot of full timers usually do (the rule of 3's, etc) to take our big trips away from home with our RV. When you can't full time, there's a lot you have to fit into a small timeline so your family can collect those monumental memories together. Our busy lifestyles are cemented in our area, the most we can plan an RV trip for would be 10 days right now. And with the current situation around the world, RV travel is definitely a wonderful way to still make those family memories and stay safe. WONDERFUL VIDEO!!🙌
Love this video! I was fortunate enough o be invited on a road trip with a friends family back in 1980. We traveled from Boston to LA and back in a little less than three weeks in a 1972 Dodge motor home. I remember it like it was yesterday. I'm 53 years old now and do as much camping with my wife three teenage boys as my schedule allows. Safe travels, see you next Sunday!
Great advice guys, love the recommendations and will be definitely doing some of these. Hope all is well and looks like Charlie is doing better, thank goodness. Safe travels and well wishes from Texas!!
I'm from Michigan. and it is so overlooked, and so many places to go to big and small, we had a other you tuber come through Michigan last year and he past all the big sights and camping , it's like he was in a rush , we never rush we love Michigan
Love your videos! Last summer we rented an RV from the east coast for three weeks. 7,000.5 miles later, we returned with memories to last a lifetime. Needed to plan better for the fuel consumption, but would get in another RV and do the trip again tomorrow! We went west on I90 almost all the way. Came home east from four corners. Just amazing! Yellowstone, Zion, Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon north and South rim, amazing. Couldn’t agree more with your recommendations!
OMG Guys!!! Great Video!! You are totally correct you can do a lot in 10 days. My parents had 4 - 6 weeks vacation each year. We were always gone from early June to mid July. My Mom spent months planning our trips and packing in as much stuff as she possibly could stuff into those trips. My dad, well he was the driver. Sometimes he drove 10 plus hours to get us to the next destination. In fact, I remember one trip when we rolled into Vegas at midnight. Set up the camper, went to bed, got up, had breakfast and we were out the door doing by 9:00am to get in whatever Mom had planned. Anyway, all 5 of us kids loved every bit of it!! Yes, we were a family of 7 in a 26 ft travel trailer. (We started out in a 22ft travel trailer). Sometime my grandparents would join us. Then we were 9 people in the same 26 ft rig. Dad extended the upper bunk to accommodate 4 kids vs 2 kids to fit all 9 of us into the rig. Although we were gone for a longer period of time it blows my mind how much we were able to do and see in that time frame. Same thing happened on our spring break trips. Mom packed the week beyond full and Dad drove to make it happen. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Sorry, went down memory lane. Anyway really love all of your suggestions. I can hardly wait to start traveling again. We are 1 - 2 years from full time RVing. As always, thanks for the great information, amazing video, and safe travels.
I agree 100% you can do something every day. Summer's 18 & 19 we traveled from Sw Mo to Yellowstone where we did Dinosaur Np, Flaming gorge Ut, Teton's, Yellowstone, Cody Wy, Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore, Badlands in 12 days. Summer 19 we left Sw MO for Yosemite. OKC bombing memorial, Austin TX dinner Big Texan, Cadillac ranch, Painted Desert, Petrified forest, Petroglyph Np, Walnut Canyon, Sun set valcano, Grandcanyon, Hollywood, Channel Islands, Giant sequoias, Yosemite, Pink corral sand dunes, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Arches, Canyon Lands, 4 Corners, Great Sand Dunes Np, then home. 16 days both trips totaled 22 people and 4 -5 campers, lots of great memories.
Michigan (and the UP) does have a National Park - Isle Royale (in Lake Superior). One of the least visited in the US, but beautiful and great for hiking, fishing, and moose viewing. It's closer to Minnesota, but you can take a boat/plane from either MN or MI. Highly recommend it!
The tip for goin with the flow as far as planning is a great tip. I love the upper michigan and traverse city too. One thing i did was hubby n i went to tampa to the rv shiw. One the way back i took hwy 19 which goes along the gulf to get back to georgia. I would pull off at places along the way cause we werent in a Hurry. Last place i stopped at was cedar key florida. Omg! So cute. We found this one cottage type place. We had no reservations mind you. We got a heck if a deal since it was off season. Winded up staying there for 3 days! So peaceful. Stars everywhere. Found the best restarant called Tony’s. They make the best clam chowder! Lol. And i was born and raised in the east coast. My point is sometimes the best vacations is spontaneity. 👍❤️
I love Cedar Key also. I used to take an empty 48 qt. cooler and buy oysters from the boats. They'd shovel it full, add ice. It was about 20 dozen oysters, dirty, you had to rinse them and shuck them, but it was $8! We rented a condo and shucked oysters most of the weekend!
I just started watching your videos, now i am addicted. I grew up in Monterey, to this day I still love taking a drive down the coast. It never gets old.
Michigan has a national park in the middle of Lake Superior - “Isle Royale” - and a national lakeshore park - “Sleeping Bear Dunes” north of Traverse City on Lake Michigan and of course you mentioned the state parks of Mackinac Island; Grand Haven, Pictured Rocks in ‘da U.P. etc. Thanks for the acknowledgement of the gem that “pure” Michigan is to us living here . . .
Great advice. We fell in love with the Keys a very long time ago when we only had a week off for vacation. We winter there now. It's true you feel a sense of community and that is a good feeling. Thanks foe sharing. Safe travels.
My wife and I take a 10-12 day long roadtrip every year. Shortest trip was 4,977miles and longest was 7,149mi. Glacier Natl park is unbelievable, Yellowstone is great in Sept/Oct and tons of wildlife out n about.
Love that Michigan was included - Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore & isle Royale National Park - are both national treasures but Isle Royale is tough to include unless you have more time to spend. Thanks so much for the service you are providing - it really does show the world from a beautiful viewpoint.
Shoutout to Kentucky State Parks! We did a lot of long-weekend trips when we were working. I kept a map with a 300 mile radius circle with the center on our home in Michigan. As you have said Michigan has great state parks and beach towns. Kentucky has hills, rock climbing, rafting and caves! Carter Caves and Cumberland Falls are two favorites.
We've been full timing for a little while now, and we spent a month in the upper peninsula this summer because it was the only place in the country where it wasn't 100 degrees. Very beautiful. Very rural. No interstates. No cell phone reception. It was great
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is amazing! My favorite place was Smokemont Campground near the town of Cherokee (Cherokee Nation headquarters and reservation in most of the town but there are museum and restaurants/shops). Saw a herd of Elk, deer, and turkeys. Semi-boondocking there as no electric hookups and generators daytime up until 7:00pm. They had clean restrooms and water and paved spaces. There also is a horse stable with rental horses and a hay ride. Good pioneer farm museum and visitors center nearby.
I love following your amazing travels. I suddenly found out how privileged I am. In Denmark we have 6 weeks paid holiday, every year!! ... Friday 10 July we go on a 3 week trip around Europe (Germany, Czech Republic, Austria) Take care of yourself ... Good camping
Danny and I took a 10 day fast trip about 3 years ago. Stayed in a different hotel every night. It was before we got our RV. It was both amazing and exhausting. We definitely want to go back and stay a little bit longer in each area. We left Tennessee, saw the Badlands Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons and Jackson hole. It was wonderful!
We did 11 days and started in jasper np, down to banff, down to glacier np and fly back out of Calgary. Trip of a lifetime. And hit many parks around those big ones like waterton, one of my favorite places..
When it comes to national parks, I would recommend getting in as early as possible by 6:30 or 7. You will beat the crowds at the gate and be able to reach those places that get crowded quickly without any difficulty!
Looking forward to hitting the "LONG" road for the first time. Ford350 Super Duty Diesel and my 35' fifth wheel...going it alone. 73 and female. Woohoo!
Just started 7200 mile trip started Sacramento,Arizona,New Mexico,Texas,Nashville,Indiana,Iowa,Montana,Idaho,Washington,Oregon,California 8 1/2 weeks. It is definitely different out there Masks required at every stop. Going to settle in Tennessee next year hope to cross paths at some point until then safe travels.
Wow watching the video and seeing the Northland Trailer with the 1/2 ton seems like years ago. Amazing how much you guys and the kids have seen. Also the kids have grown so much. Great video. Again thanks for making our Sunday evening fun to look forward to..
A few years ago for my brother's high school graduation, my family and I flew into Vegas (we're from Virginia) and drove up around LA up the coast, stayed in Saint Luis Obispo, all the way up to big sur, we saw the redwoods, San Francisco, went all through oregon and Washington, briefly in Idaho, up to BC and Alberta, to Banff, back down to Seattle to fly back. 21 days 😊
We are leaving Thursday for an 18 day trip from Indiana up through Michigan to the UP and circumnavigate Lake Michigan back through Wisconsin, Illinois back to Indiana. 10 stops, 1400 miles, 4 states, epic adventure.
So, we're from Fremantle, WA and did the following in 17 days (in 2014): Vegas, Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Arches, Canyon Lands, Capitol Reef, Arches, Monument Valley, Grande Escalande Staircase, Bryce Canyon, Zion. This included staying in Bryce for 4 days with the resident geoligical range who we knew from Notre Dame uni in Freo! Would have loved to have stayed longer and can't wait to get back!
We are doing the National Parks with a twist. Ten Days. Yellowstone, Tetons, then south to Rocky Mountain National Park. Starting with Yellowstone-Tetons for five days, then one long day to Loveland, Colorado, then three days at Rocky Mountain National Park-Estes Park, then home. Heading out this Friday.
All great ideas. We loved the west coast, SF, Napa, Yosemite, Muir Woods. But yes GTNP, YNP, & GNP, were EPIC!!!!! Life goal is to visit all US NP. 32 of 61, getting close. Keep my contact, when you are close to Louisiana i'll take you on a swamp paddle tour (includes all boats and personal guide).
The California coast from San Francisco to LA is spectacular and should be on everyone's bucket list! Campgrounds and RV parks are super crowded now though in covid age so plan ahead. I LOVE to camp at San Simeon State Park and visit Hearst Castle. The tour is absolutely worth the cost for $30-45 and includes a bus tour up to the top of the mountain and strolls around the gardens after your tour. I've lived in SF for 20 years and Big Sur was our back yard weekend camp escape. We would through the surfboards in the back of the truck Friday night and get to Big Sur late but had plenty of camping options. Great surf there, amazing hiking and stunning wild views everywhere. Now I'm looking forward to seeing more of Michigan, the hidden gem of the USA apparently!
We drove from Virginia to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Tetons National Park, Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park and back to Virginia. Trip was completed is 2 weeks. Truck with 5th wheel. 5th wheel got about 5,000 miles. Truck got 7,000 miles on it. For the people that don't have a lot of time and can drive long distances, it can be done! We seen a lot in two weeks!! It was awesome! Glacier is out of this world!!
I know I'm watching an older video but I can't thank Trish enough for her ongoing wisdom about "letting everyone have their own trip". It made all the difference in our (non-RV) family beach trip last Memorial Day with 2 16- year old boys. It made it so relaxing and fun for everyone! We also extend her wisdom to our group RV trips. It takes the stress out. How'd ya'll get so smart, LOL?! Thanks.
We just did a month long trip to Yellowstone and Glacier. Speaking of things not going right. First night out the bedframe collapsed, second night the shower drain broke, and two days later had a flat tire on the truck. Despite getting off to a rocky start, we still had a great trip.
When you mentioned that there is something special in TN - this made me cry. I live in TN and I agree with you.
Loda i agree. I fell in love with knoxville❤️.
I've been to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and loved it so there. My family reunion was in Nunely, Tn and that was the best vacation ever! Love, Love, Love Tennessee, My granddaughter lives in Knoxville.
Loda I live in Knoxville also
I live in north Georgia...I really agree but there’s something special about the Appalachia’s and the Appalachian people. There really is...
I’m from Eastern TN and I did, too! Good vibes there.
The sounds of the rushing river, the crackling fire, and birds singing! Amazing
We’ve been watching you from when you released your first video as we want to RV. Hubby retired next month and we just put a a deposit on an RV this week...so one step closer!
Wow. Big step! Congrats. So great hearing people making the most of their retirement!
It’s so refreshing to hear people speak of the US in an endearing way.
That's how I felt as well.
I loved that you mentioned Michigan. Being from Michigan, it is such an overlooked gem. The summers here are unbelievable. It's the only thing that makes up for the long winter 😂
I miss all the festivals that all the small town have. They are fantastic! I also miss the cider donuts and blue moon ice cream!
And the UP is great in spring and speculator in fall
We did Michigan 2 years ago and were absolutely amazed at how much there is to do, especially in the UP. Can’t wait to go back!
I've heard a lot about Michigan. On bucket list.
You guys are excellent ambassadors to our great National Parks and the Hidden Beauties of America!
Tennessee is truly special. Been here 13 years now. People here are prouder of their state that the citizens of any other state. Nice video.
We loved our trip up to Glacier NP and Going-to-the Sun Road. We also crossed over the border to visit Waterton Lakes NP in Canada and spent the weekend at the Prince of Wales Hotel on the lake. So picturesque! Memories of a lifetime adventure! 🏆
Doesn't look like it will be open for us, but that's okay... it only makes it easier to decide what to do! And then we'll have to go back ;)
KYD - Trish/Marc: Going to the Sun will not be opened this year.
Well done!! :-)
Grew up going to the Smokies, 1st from Ohio, later from Florida, NC, and now GA. My favorite.
From Perth Australia
Thanks for your amazing videos, America is so beautiful.
I can only imagine! So painful. It will happen. Murphy's Law says we'll be in AU when you finally make it to the US :)
@@KeepYourDaydream Is this season 10 reveal?
Another great episode, even though things are different KYD has made every Sunday a great start to the week!!
Also.. we do have a National Park, Isle Royale in Lake Superior.
the thumb....................Bad Axe.
If you have a free moment google Isle Royale it is ecologically famous for the Wolf-Moose study over the last fifty years. Very interesting stuff!
Or maybe Mark and the boys should take a boys trip next summer! This is one to plan ahead for!
We need to steal that from you one of these days... -MN
Ok... Now let’s go to Switzerland and Norway. Winter and summer. Those are my two bucket list destinations.
I absolutely love that table cloth.
agree...where did you guys find this?
I was coming to comment the same thing. Love it!
SAME LOL WHERE WHERE WHERE PLEASE TO GET?? 🤩
Number 5! Michigan is my favorite The UP is the best!
Mackinaw Island is so fun in the summer.
I live in sw corner of state and lake Michigan shoreline is great along with wine country
I came from Traverse City, MI and moved out to Nevada.
Eddie Ockert and I still live in Traverse City. Come home. Visit again :)
Yaaaay Michigan!! I'm not surprised you included us, and you're always welcome. ❤🖐❤
Have the time of your lives!
nice trip.
Just finished 5 weeks in the southwest! Grand Canyon, Page, Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Moab and Durango. Thanks to KYD for keeping us inspired! Been watching since almost the beginning.
I need this tablecloth/blanket!!!
Me too. Did you find it?
In 2018 did two week loop:from western NY
Badlands, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Tetons, Jackson hole, Salt Lake City, Bryce, Zion, Las Vegas, Rte 66, Grand Canyon, four corners, Mesa Verda, Colorado, Evel Knievel museum.
6200 miles. Amazing !!
Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park on Lake Michigan is spectacular!
Don’t tell anyone. Shhhhh
Yes, I was thinking the same. Love that place. I lived there for about 5 years.
I like that number 5 was Michigan
😍 that blanket 🥰🥰🥰 do you have a link? ps great cinematography 🤩
Where do you get the table cloth/ blanket?
Loved that you included Michigan. The UP is my happy place. I can't wait to visit some of the other places you mentioned!!
I think you may have created a "Top 7" bucket list for retirement. T-shirt to follow.
Can’t say I didn’t write down 5 of them for my own list!
Where did you find that large picnic blanket/ table cloth? It’s so beautiful!!!
Yes please share on the tablecloth
I too would love to find this!!
Please where did you get the table cloth
Where did you get that table cloth! Love it!
SN2 in Mexico. It's so fun to collect little things while traveling that we actually have room to use.
We have one exactly like it that we got in Mexico. I recognized it right away.
I agree 100% you can do something every day. Summer's 18 & 19 we traveled from Sw Mo to Yellowstone where we did Dinosaur Np, Flaming gorge Ut, Teton's, Yellowstone, Cody Wy, Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore, Badlands in 12 days. Summer 19 we left Sw MO for Yosemite. OKC bombing memorial, Austin TX dinner Big Texan, Cadillac ranch, Painted Desert, Petrified forest, Petroglyph Np, Walnut Canyon, Sun set valcano, Grandcanyon, Hollywood, Channel Islands, Giant sequoias, Yosemite, Pink corral sand dunes, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Arches, Canyon Lands, 4 Corners, Great Sand Dunes Np, then home. 16 days both trips totaled 22 people and 4 -5 campers, lots of great memories.
It’s Sunday evening what should we do? Oh snap there’s a new KYD!
❤️
Michigan (and the UP) does have a National Park - Isle Royale (in Lake Superior). One of the least visited in the US, but beautiful and great for hiking, fishing, and moose viewing. It's closer to Minnesota, but you can take a boat/plane from either MN or MI. Highly recommend it!
I love the picnic with the water flowing behind you! Seems so serene and peaceful! Enjoy your trip. =) - bloggin brandi
One of my FAVORITE videos of yours!!! Thank you!! I don't comment on videos, but just wanted to give a quick thank you for ALL you guys do and share!!
Great Video! Outstanding choices! We will soon be out there again! Can't wait to get back up to Jackson and Bozeman!
Thanks. Yes, Jackson and Bozeman are great! Great towns in the midst of amazing beauty!
Michigan has a national park in the middle of Lake Superior - “Isle Royale” - and a national lakeshore park - “Sleeping Bear Dunes” north of Traverse City on Lake Michigan and of course you mentioned the state parks of Mackinac Island; Grand Haven, Pictured Rocks in ‘da U.P. etc. Thanks for the acknowledgement of the gem that “pure” Michigan is to us living here . . .
Jay Kay Dee Pictured Rocks is a National Lakeshore too. 😀
Emily Calhoon Ya that is correct too - thanks for that !!
That nice Sunday moment was delightful. You look so relaxed and that camping site is just wow. Stay safe.
I love following your amazing travels. I suddenly found out how privileged I am. In Denmark we have 6 weeks paid holiday, every year!! ... Friday 10 July we go on a 3 week trip around Europe (Germany, Czech Republic, Austria) Take care of yourself ... Good camping
I spent about 2 years all over the west coast states. Absolutely loved it. Best part of the USA, hands down.
Traverse City in mid to late October, there is nothing like it for camping. Driving old Mission Peninsula and enjoying the views never gets old.
I was born and grew up in San Luis obispo California, I also grew up going alot to Pismo Beach, and big sur . So awesome. Miss that place.
Cal Coastal Highway 1 is absolutely a must-drive from San Diego to Carmel. It's breathtaking...
I love the blanket that you used in the beginning!! so colorful and wonderful!! Where can I find another one just like it?
Agreed, the coast from Big Sur up to Cannon Beach with frequent stops along the way is bucket list material.
Thanks.
This is great! Our family and a friend’s (13 of us) just completed a 10 day roadtrip around the entire state of Nebraska. It was incredible!
We just did a month long trip to Yellowstone and Glacier. Speaking of things not going right. First night out the bedframe collapsed, second night the shower drain broke, and two days later had a flat tire on the truck. Despite getting off to a rocky start, we still had a great trip.
