I love how his diction is unclear so when i finally get around to reading the lyrics it adds a whole new layer to the experience! What a great surprise

No, that's definitely Alexander leaving his body after he realized he died. Just as the lyrics say, he was confused at first because nothing happened at first to let him really know that he died until the doctors from the ambulance pronounced him dead. He never went straight to heaven or hell, it took a while, and he wondered if it was the same for everyone else after they die. I'm certain that it's Alexander sitting up from his body when he died falling, and now he's trying to figure out what's supposed to happen next when you die.
"Truth be told we all remained silent. Not before the law or in awe. That was just all we had left that we hadn't yet tried was to be quiet and they outlawed it yesterday."

Yeah, who the hell would down vote this? A) This is a great song, B) what is there to dislike? C) Turn back on the top 40 radio, this is not for you.

as someone who took his own life and was clinically dead for a few minutes, this hits way too hard.

Really impressed with what these guys are doing. Have heard a few songs now, I don't like them all as much as I like this tune but that is only a commentary on how great this song is not that the others are lacking.
