he sings exactly like how he looks
This song is called "Broken Hours", it was released as a bonus track on Japanese edition of "Beyondless". It was posted on RUclips as well.
I took my friend to see iceage at pitchfork while he was tripping on acid his reaction was "we need to get out of here"
lmao they are that bad, yes
@@drrtysanchez9579 what are on about dumbass? That's not even the point if the story
@Conor Winston Close. Lol he wanted Chvrches to brighten up the mood
For anyone who doesn’t know the song is called “Broken Hours”
I've always found Iceage's live performances to very transparently and cataclysmically emotional. Elias' constant staggered and in this performance, unravelment into the fetal position really corresponds with the emotional intensity of the lyrics. I love that their live performances always fall into synchronization with songs, that is to say that Elias' movements really look like the song sounds.
***** Thank you ! I'd suggest getting into some of Elias' friends work and his side projects like Var and Marching Church? Lust For Youth, Loke Rahbek's band released a very synth oriented album called International but other than that I'm pretty sure they're very noise and I suppose lack melodies. My favorite bands are Oasis, The Jesus & Mary Chain, The Libertines, Nick Cave & the Badseeds, and Tom Waits if you maybe want to check them out ? If you want better recs would you mind telling me some of what else you like n I can help out more ?
+L Mezquiti man can u give me some recs a new band similar to nirvana? :)
***** No problem ! On the note of 'high vocals' and bands that sound like that, Hanaoi Rocks is pretty good and similar to things like that. And Hanaoi Rocks' biggest influence, Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers and the New York Dolls. I'd also recommend early Manic Street Preachers, anything off the albums Generation Terrorists, Gold Against the Soul, and The Holy Bible. As for things like The Smiths you could always check out The Chameleons, The Railway Children, and of course The Cure xx
Priandika Ramadhan I'm not that big of a Nirvana fan, but The Smashing Pumpkins is a band that comes to mind when I think of Nirvana as well as Courtney Love's band Hole, which I adore. You might like The Sisters of Mercy and The Merry Thoughts? x
***** Thank you ! Feel free to message me whenever for new music or just to talk x
Guitarist has a great style, he's really good
+Radixxs Yeah he's phenominal. In my mind he's the best rock guitarist of the 2010s so far. Maybe I havent looked hard enough. I was lucky enough to be right infront of him at this particular gig you might be able to see me in some of the shots of the crowd haha.
But yeah he's great I love how he can be brutally chaotic while still being melodic
+Zac R Try listening to some other danish acts, a lot of talents, Communions (guitar pop), Yung, Lower, Young Dinosaur. But Johan is definitely sublime
Ill check them out, thanks
+Zac R Brutally chaotic and melodic --
I like that. Had something like that in mind as well.
Favorite band of recent times.
+Zac R stockmanager.bandcamp.com/track/security
this raw version is way better from what it became on the new album. still one of their peak performances
Song called "Broken Hours" from their new lp Beyondless (2018) only on japan edition
Shatterhaven on my channel
Caught them in london last night and they played this as an encore, I can now die happy.
Elias might be one of the best frontmen around right now
ever
ever is a stretch
not might. Is.
That Drop was Fabulous.
probably the best new band of the 2010's..............
+Marko Jimenez Definetely.
Hands down
iceage and protomartyr up there for sure
Preoccupations, too
@Walt Franz Allah Las
Anyone who digs this should check Archers of Loaf, Shellac, Polvo, and the Jesus Lizard for sure. Iconic shit. Loathsome and grimy, intricate and timeless.
this should have been on the new album wtf iceage
Japanese exclusive bonus track apparently, hopefully someone uploads it soon
Cyril Crutzen I uploaded it yesterday!
broken hours
is this the same guitarist from all of their albums ?
such a chaotically stylish way of playing it
Yes it is. He's great!
It sure is! He also plays in Marching Church with Elias
This video was my introduction to Iceage. Couldn’t have asked for anything more
I'm still watching this daily
ZiggyWiggySagman same lol
It's called "Broken Hours". They released as a single last year
Digging that crescendo
fucking incredible
I bet Elias doesn't practice Hygge, he eats nails for breakfast
damn that was good
The reason he fell is because he took a Benadryl before this concert and was really sleepy
this performance pretty much sold me on this band
Broken Hours goddamn it yeah!
hope this song is on the new album
Matthew Willis me too, really want a studio version of this
Not that Beyondless isn’t great, but this would’ve been the best song on the album.
Song had been released as single now and is called "Broken Hours"
Song is actually called ny sej
spoiler alert...damn
izzie833 I was front row and the set list for this show was released and that is the name of the song haha
***** I'm pretty sure it's something they wrote down because they don't have an actual title for the song yet. In Danish, "Ny sej" roughly translated means "New Cool", but those two Danish words put together doesn't make any sense at all. So I would assume it remains untitled :)
oh thanks haha my knowledge of danish is zero !
+juliaaglimmers It was probably "ny sang" which means "new song" in danish ;)
Really wanted this song to be on Beyondless. Darn it. Dang.
When these guys sobre up they could make a really good band.
Nah
Sounds great!!!
yeah!
2:49
Baseline gets me everytime
Was really hoping this would be on the new album :(
You beauty! Broken Hours!
I can never tell if he's drunk when he performs, or if he just acts like it for show.
+ILIKE NOODLES probs just passionate as fuk
ILIKE NOODLES Definitely drunk when I saw them
+ILIKE NOODLES How stupid can you be to confuse a performer with a drunk
+MrCioCioLoco the frontman has stated in interview, regarding life on tour, that every day is a performance and getting very drunk, so most definitely he is drunk there
+ILIKE NOODLES i mean he's from denmark so most likely he is drunk, yes
Does anyone know of any guitarists with a similar style?
his playing reminds me a lot of the band Mekons
Check out early Polvo, he really reminds me of Ash Bowie’s style
go home, elias, you're drunk
wow...WOW....
Has anybody had any luck in making out the lyrics to this song?
can't make out anything from the first two albums
but then again it was intended that way.
hahahahhahahaha
i think the chorus is broken arrows lol
or broken hours
fuck that sounds good
set your speed to 0.75, gets much better
YESYESYESYES!
To All the Humans who use RUclips, The comments on this video end here, LEAVE MY ELIAS ALONE HE"S AWESOME PERIOD. COME TRY ME IF YOU WANT TOO. JK #notreallythough
i came here for the bass
Enjoy this with Vodka. Cheers. I don't drink.
Just noticed this band. Is 'iceage' a descendents reference? ('Myage', 'bikeage' etc)
+Yerkface they got their name from the Joy Division song 'Ice Age', I believe.
+megabus mati ahh thought I heard some JD influence there :p (was a wild guess)
Joy Division have a song called Ice Age, and they are known fans of them
They have stated they did NOT get their name from that song several times in the past
Now we finally got the song's name, huh
Seems kinda obvious now
Pitchfork are you Hiring?
rumble by link wray
Did this song ever get recorded?? Did I miss it on the new record??
❤
where is studio version of this song
ruclips.net/video/ADv9BEdXCtE/видео.html
does anyone know what guitar he is playing?
He reminds me of Ian Curtis somehow
will it be on the new album though??????
1800entity It won’t be on the new album. In a recent interview with pitchfork they said that they’re never going to release it either.
Daniel Rodriguez what interview is this btw? Would like to read
There's a bonus track called 'Broken Hours' on the Japanese special edition which obviously is this track. As of now the studio version is nowhere to be found but hopefully it will get to us one day!
The interview mentioned here is from Juan's Basement Live, that you can find on youtube. Somehow I believe that guys were just fucking around with fans and both this and the 'In My Eyes' tracks will be released on way or another. In another interview boys said that they just didn't want to put songs that sounded too much like PITFOL on Beyondless.
slowpokedieslow ooo might have to get it from big love records then
that's a great idea! And don't be shy to share the song with the rest of the world, you know!
Coolest frontman on the planet until we start performing.
Sorry Elias, only joking.
mr. mojo risin
BROKEN HOURS
pretty similar to Our Singer by pavement
I think you meant Hip Priest by the Fall
he is drunk?
WHERE THE FUCK IS THE STUDIO VERSION!!!!
T.O. The Stage Broken Hours on the Japanese version of the lp
He'd be cool if it wasn't so obvious
what does this even mean
He is not appreciated?
He appears to be an alcoholic.
Almost choked to death laughing at this comment 😻😭
Best comment on yt!!
Boring overly confident musicians make boring music
next time unplug the mic and hell, maybe it will even be listenable
He's so red
MattDaddy FatStacks cus he's full of red hot passion duh
what is this song?
thanks daniel
