@@natalialoveee weeell it really depends on how you practice Buddhism. Though I am a Christian- I can see the wisdom of having a daily spiritual practice. We don’t do chanting but do spend time singing worship songs. God says “Be still and know that I am God” feel his presence- spend time alone with him.🌟
Just know that Christianity also had (has?) a mystical tradition. The mystics were always frowned upon in established monotheistic doctrines as they broke the code of dogma and tried so establish an alive and self reliant connection and experience of god. Usually they were ostracized for this. The knowledge has been largely supressed and excluded from the canon. I spent some time in a benedicta monastery and some time with tibetan buddhist monks, visited a shaman etc. At the end, beneath it all the ultimate goal is the same in truth. But our comprehension and cosmologies are very different. It is just a terrible loss to limit yourself to one tradition "i am a christian" - if this implies that you limit yourself to what an authority(the church) allows you to think and believe. But of course we will at some point find ourselves commiting more to one tradition or another if for nothing else but for the sake of practicality. I do think there is value in all paths and in the end the result is what counts, right ? (You shall recognize the tree by its fruits.) But at the same time, no matter what tradition we follow we should never be overcome by blind faith hut continuously discern what part of it is manmade thinking and lackluster interpretation and what parts of it are truth and instructive. We just need to remember that all of us are very imperfect in our understanding and just because someone gets elected as an authority does not automatically mean that they grasp and live in higher truths as these don't obey and bow to man made hierarchies. That was my ramble for the day :)
@@Humanaut. I keep my eyes on Jesus Christ and what he taught and how he lived (not on sinful men) He gives me grace to live by faith in his finished world on the cross. ✝️❣️👰🏻♀️🌟
@@nataliegwiegmann5007 yeah. No offense. But you sounded like a religious ideolog first time around. I was trying to broaden the horizon a little bit. When someone is deeply entrenched in religious ideology all you hear you hear with a specific set of ears and a you see you see through a certain lens. Not saying Jesus is bad or anything, to the contrary. But religious dogmatism and having blind faith / 0 critical and original thought is bad. Think about it. Jesus wasn't a yes man, he was a rebel in his times. But humans love to follow and never emancipate themselves. Everything you believe you only believe because someone wrote into a book. A book written several hundred years after christ by many different authors and then curated by fallible men of the church with many different interests in mind. The church hated mystics and people genuinely seeking connection to God. Usual they first get killed/denounced and then posthumously spoken holy. But sure. Religion makes things simple. Less thinking, discerning and less self responsiblity. The world can be a frightening and heartless place and ar least religion offers some consolation. But remember. It's just concepts and concepts are just thoughts. Thoughts believed in produce your reality which can then be felt and experienced as real. But all of the saints, they found something within themselves that gave them certainly. They didn't just eat a book. They weren't yes men.
Your video popped up in my recommended suggested videos to watch. Im glad I did, thank you for your video.. This video is keeping me going today 🥰
Awww thank you so much Tina. I'm glad its helpful. Please follow this feeling of wanting to learn deeper. Keep it up. Blessings to you from Thailand ❤❤
I know what you mean Tina as soon as you start talking about being conscious of your thoughts combining elevated emotion with a clear intent and drawing from the future that is unknown instead of the past creating brain and heart coherence and opening the heart chakra you lose the majority of people's attention
Thank you for sharing your insights. I have found the stillness and clarity in the midst of the current crisis, getting severely ill from it at the beginning. I was longing to find this inner tranquility for a long time, but never had a "reason" to search for it - until I was forced to stand still. Looking back, I'm so grateful for what I've found, although at the same time it has been the hardest time in my life.
What if you have no friends, no community? I’ve been on my own on this path for over a year. It’s hard but what can you do if you are alone? Its just the way my life is.
I think you can join a group, a temple, a retreat, an activity. It just take effort on our end. Also there are many communities online now. You don't even need to leave your home 🙂
I think he was saying not just in Buddhist practice but in goals and activities like say volunteering to help others, classes(maybe philosophy), in a mental health support group that’s positive, or anything you enjoy but going towards positive goals you all share
you don't need friends to meditate and recite prayers from a book. You can learn meditation techniques from online teachers or even better rinpoches books. The meditation will lead you to higher understanding. Not friends and not teachers, you yourself have to walk this way if speaking about real practice
I do believe in magick and prayer, and I would pray for new friends and people that meld with me and my beliefs. I'm also open to talking to anyone about anything crazy no matter if they openly judge me or not, I'm not shy. Over the span of a month I found a whole different friends group that I share beliefs with, and as we manifest and discover wonderful new spiritual truths, we have eachother to share and be excited with. I agree with the other person, set your intention through magick or prayer and go out in the world not afraid to be who you are now. It will all shift according to who you are, and will reflect thw new you. I lived my own proof.
Books like Autobiography of Yogi,Many live many masters, Gospel of Ramakrishna have taught me a lot. They have guided me in the journey of spirituality. Used to meditate daily for an hour and I could see a lot of improvement in my creativity skills, I used to love to meditate, used to wake up at 3:33am jlt and few others but working on my temper was not that easy. After some incident at home :( I have stoped meditating and trying to begin again.
I was at a point in my life and was tempted, my friend counseled me, it was not what I wanted to hear, yet what I needed, I understand this message. thank you for sharing this with us

Hello Nick ji ... very crucial tips shared by you..... thanks once again.... on my spuritual path , dhamma has contributed a lot ... following 8 precepts , teachings of Buddha are always with me 24*7 .. I totally surrendered towards Buddha,Dhamma, Sangha ... I totally dissolved in it ... one thing i observed is that as i am staying alone with my son Dhamma always kept wrong people out of my life... Many of my friends say me that dhamma will not allow people with wrong intention to come in contact or close to me.... i got this great boon from dhamma. Namo Buddhay ! With lots of love & METTA to you all!

Thank you so much for the video. I came off my self-imposed ban of RUclips because I miss the spiritual videos. Yours is one of them. I learned a lot while being off of social media. One, I have a lot more time to care for not only myself, but also others. I was able to get my dog's diabetes under control, I was able to help my elderly parents more around the house. I was able to spend time in deep Bible study. Now I miss the community. I miss watching videos that help me on my spiritual path. I enjoy watching your videos even though I am not Buddhist because I have never met anyone so dedicated to staying spiritually strong and encouraging others to follow morality over anything else. I need a virtuous friend like you in my life right now. So thank you for making these videos!🙏👍🙂
Awww thank you so much. And congratulations on the wonderful work you have done. It's a big deal. Keep it up. And like you said, its important to have a middle way. It's ok to use technology for its intended purpose. If it helps to support your practice, then it can be a good thing also 🙂🙂❤

Thank you Nick for your videos. They truly inspire me as I continue on my spiritual journey. I sense your beautiful spirit and your advice resonates deeply with me. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and handing it on a "silver platter". May your journey continue to be rewarding and I wish you love and peace always. I am from the Caribbean - thousands of miles away from Thailand but as you say, the teacher arrives at the right time.
If I can share something very personal. I’m Christian but i had lost my faith. I stopped going to church and stopped talking to God but one rainy Sunday I had this urge to go back. I pushed this feeling down for hours and hours but eventually I had to go or I felt I couldn’t rest. The first time I walked into the church I started crying and couldn’t stop, I felt so silly but I did manage to calm myself and enjoy the service. That was a turning point for me
Nick! Not sure how but you always have answers I am seeking for. Recently I have been dealing with anxiety and feelings of loneliness and I have been contemplating going back to serve at a Vipassana center which is about an hour drive one way and I kept wondering how am I going to do so regularly given I am a nurse working 12-hour continental shifts. Your perspective solved this conflict in my head. I have been constantly desiring to surround myself with this type of community as I do not feel that I fit in anywhere else. I have this desire to learn about my true self as the suffering of being disconnected within is too painful. I believe it is a long journey especially when I am not really around people I seek to surround myself with. Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful Nidhi. Yes please incorporate this in your schedule. It takes time to commute but it will be worth it and bring you so much joy and peace ☺️☺️
Was very impressed after watching this video. I am an ardent Buddhist follower but the problem with me is that I don’t have any teacher or friends who could be of any help to me. My only guide is books and RUclips. Pls help me find a teacher and a spiritual friend.
Thank you so much my friend. Maybe you can try joining some activities or groups. There are both in person groups and virtual. This may help. Also try going to meditation retreats also if possible 🙂
Thanks nick. U r helping many and esp with you taking time to reply each one...it makes a huge impact to most. I always fell that I have no purpose in life. All my focus is on my business and earning. Started meditation 2 years ago and life was better, I was more content and calmer but now I don’t feel that esp with my inconsistency in meditation. I am looking for inspiration to continue with my meditation and be contented in life
Hi nash. Thank you so much. Yes try to keep a daily practice if you can. But also take the time to explore other areas outside of work as well. Do your best to keep balance 😊😊
The most important one is the first one. It is hard to find the sense of belonging especially when you are highly intelligent or if you are more mature than people your age. Even with the people that I hang out with, I don't feel a sense of belonging. I feel alone, even though I hang out with them alot because I don't have much in common with them.

Thank you so much. Time and time again, I would fall off my meditation and start doing bad habits that I told myself that I wouldn’t do again. You have given me a clear understanding about what I need to do in order to remain consistent and have the drive to continue. I do not have any friends and a community. My family does not understand spirituality and what I want to become. I will use these tips everyday and transform my life for the better. Thank you Teacher Keomahavong. ❤️

Thank you so much, Nick, for all these videos... They are a great help... I won't say I have a teacher or a Kalyanmitra or a community as such, but I realise that whenever I need help in understanding something, I just have to close my eyes and ask for it... And then be patient about it, and help appears... Am sure I just need to continue my practice, and the next step would reveal itself to me... Been like this for 4 years now, and I am doing just fine... Sending you love & light from India!

Aww thank you so much and welcome to the channel 😊😊😊
Though I am a Christian- I can see the wisdom of having a daily spiritual practice. We don’t do chanting but do spend time singing worship songs. God says “Be still and know that I am God” feel his presence- spend time alone with him.🌟
That's beautiful. Thank you for sharing that. And keep up with your practice 🙂🙂
Being consciously aware is difficult, but like all things the mind will take time to train. Each person will develop their own way and pace.
(You shall recognize the tree by its fruits.)
But at the same time, no matter what tradition we follow we should never be overcome by blind faith hut continuously discern what part of it is manmade thinking and lackluster interpretation and what parts of it are truth and instructive.
This video comes exact at the right moment, thank you! 🖤
Yeaaa. I'm glad to hear. I hope these tips are helpful 😊😊

This video came to me at the right moment in my life. Thank you so much , guru 🙏

Thank you so much for sharing Elfi. I'm glad you're doing better and recovering. 🙂 greetings to you from Thailand.
@Tian333 It’s full of ego traps, I noticed.
Yes pick it back up and keep going my friend. It's very important. Cheering you on from Thailand 🙂🙂
Thanks for the books titles.
It is when you feel down that you need it even more, I hope you will find your path to freedome again my friend.

Thank you . I've been watching this alot
That was a turning point for me
Thank you for your insights. Much gratitude 🙏🏽
Aww thank you so much ❤❤❤🙏

I'm glad I found this video today. I kind of need it. Thank you.
The most important one is the first one. It is hard to find the sense of belonging especially when you are highly intelligent or if you are more mature than people your age. Even with the people that I hang out with, I don't feel a sense of belonging. I feel alone, even though I hang out with them alot because I don't have much in common with them.
Yeah its important to find people we can connect and learn with.
