- Microtrenching creates a trench in the asphalt instead of a large open pit.
The trench is a few cm wide and usually around +-30 cm deep as compared to traditional approaches with meters x meters. In this little trench a bundle of microducts fits perfectly. The GM flatliner has been used in many microtrenching projects world wide.
This is the optimal solution for deploying both access and backbone, especially in urban areas. All in only one handling. A safe way to work in a city landscape where open pits and cracked asphalt are best to be avoided.
A proven method that now has been used as "best practice" in many FTTH roll outs as it is cheaper, faster, environment friendly and reliable.
