If I was looking for a guitarist that could shred and play a 20 minute solo that did not get repetitive and was filled with soulful artistry, Yuki would be up there in the top of the list. I have been a follower for years.
Actually, Yuki got me into J-rock. I happened upon her cover of Judas Priest's Painkiller; it was rather a shock, a nice Japanese girl playing such a mean guitar. I managed to get a D-Drive album and learned about other bands later on, but she is still at the top of my private hall of fame.
Yuki has been one of my favourite guitarists for a long time. She's done a lot of side things with Saki and she does those little short videos for animes like Hazuki does. I have a bunch of D-Drive if you want to see it. Great video, man! 🙂
Glad to see Yuki is getting a lot of love and appreciation in the comments. I think she is a bit undervalued considering the skill she has. I have followed her and D_Drive for a few years now. Love D_Drive but hoping that being part of East of Eden, a band that has a vocalist will get her more recognition
A truly fantastic guitarist and beautiful woman. She was a dancer before becoming a guitar player. Her version of Steve Vai’s For the Love of God is monumental, and of course all of her bands and projects are awesome. She has her own RUclips channel as well.
Outside of Band-Maid, who are always at the top of my rankings, Yuki is my favorite current guitarist. Both in D_Drive and East of Eden, she's incredible, capable of shredding with the best of them but also always tasteful in her playing.
She is so elegant, reserved, and plays with fantastic feeling. I know her because of D_Drive (Unkind Rain is one of the most beautiful ballads ever written.)
Could it be that, prior to East of Eden, she was more unknown than underappreciated? Whatever, she is another excellent shredder. With a little time and proper promotion ... she will rise to being known as another Japanese Wonderwoman.
I agree, I don't think D_Drive is one of the more popular bands and that may have to do with the fact that they're an instrumental band. I saw D_Drive live at NAMM 2020 but even though Yuki and the other guitarist were fantastic, the band and the songs were boring. Now with East of Eden, I worry because she's actually playing second fiddle to a fiddle. I would hope that the band gives her more of a chance to shine than what I've seen so far.
Yuki is without a doubt an extraordinary guitarist and one of my favorites. I recommend a guitarist who is still less known and whose name is Chiaki (Suichu Spica), for me an excellent guitarist. Great video 👍
She's got the expressiveness in her playing to go with the technical skill. I hope one of her projects takes off. I listen to D Drive now and then. East of Eden are also promising, but it's too early to say yet whether they'll be the band that gets her the recognition she deserves.
OMG! She started playing guitar at 17??!!!..I'm still floored by that... When I first saw her in East of Eden, I thought, "Wow, another Japanese prodigy musician..probably started playing guitar in the womb or something.." lol..I started at 16...maybe there's hope for me yet!🤔 heheh...hmm..I thought you would have started with Kanami, but I guess you're saving the best for last!😉 Great vid!!
Actually, I started at 15 too! 🤔 I'm ok..but nothing to brag about, lol..yay kanami!! Can't wait to gush about mincho, but there are quite a number of super talented Japanese guitarist out there .. like Hal-Ca , hint hint 😁 🤞
Yuki has been one of my favorites since I discovered D-Drive. She and Seiji are incredible as a duo. Her work in East of Eden has been terrific. She and her gear are both gorgeous. Hard to see how she can remain underrated for long!
Yuki has been around for awhile. I noticed her age when researching her new band and was surprised. Unfortunately in her new band, the one that stood out for me the most was the vocalist. I always thought that Eidee was the other guitarist from d_drive.
She is more than I want to be in a rock band, she is the real thing like Saki. I started late at the same age of her and when it is real and what you really want to do you play your ass off all the time. When out wasting time you feel i wish i was playing guitar instead. Put up Halca/ Asterism next thankyou.
Until recently she has not really been involved in much that would be seen as an opportunity for a large profile as the masses just don't care about instrumentals. She is up their on my underappreciated list along with Tomo-zo for shred ladies in Japan.
I don't think she's underrated. Perhaps it is little known outside of Japan due to the fact that D_Drive is instrumental, which in itself does not attract a large audience. But in Japanese music and media circles she is well regarded, so much so that she is always doing advertising campaigns for big brands. I think with EOE she will become famous in the mainstream. Not to mention that in my opinion she is the most beautiful Japanese guitarist I have ever seen.
Yuki is a Japanese treasure. I don’t think she’s underrated. I‘m pretty sure that she’s high rated as one of the most amazing guitar player out of Japan by almost everybody who plays guitar and knows her. The point is that not to many knowing her as she’s not playing in a well renowned band. EOE might change that. But yes Yuki is incredible and plays complex stuff with high velocity, precision, taste and feel. She holds her place in my guitar player Olymp.

I didn't know that! Please send them to me or put them on Drive 👈😅

i like her goofy personality that you can't imagine from her appearance😊

…continues..Iron Bunnys Lightning Speed is phenomenal song. Glad you you get that in this video too 🤘❤️
Thanks😁👊

I started playing guitar when I was 15, but guess what? I'm horrible at the guitar😆😂🫣😭
Kanami is definitely on the list😎👊

Yuki & Saki, my two favorite female guitarist in the world.😍💙🎸❤
PS. Chiiko, D_Drive's drummer girl is fantastic.👍
Chiiko-san is heavily underrated.
Yes, Yuki is one of my favorite female guitar players. She’s an outstanding guitarist, nice personality and so beautiful.
I didn't really follow her previous projects, but East of Eden is one of the best new bands debuting last year.

i am a big fan of Yuki and D_Drive - glad to see her getting some well deserved recognition!

Yes! I see this!
My apologies wholly guacamole 🌺really?!!
She's got my attention Right now
Rock metal found home in Japan ⛩️🗾🇯🇵🔥❣️
East Of Eden are set for major things if they continue on their current trajectory. My favourite new band of 2023.
All tracks of D_Drive drive me crazy
