You should start practicing your DSA and apply to as many companies as possible. Product based companies respect your experience and you can definitely switch to any one.

C++, less verbose
Go with Java and make some projects with Java. Cpp is good for practice but Java will give you Enterprise level of expertise and Knowledge.
