    Hey Aperture,
    I'm a long time fan and watch your videos whenever they come out. However I need to point out that observation of a super position particle isn't what collapses the super position. This belief is called the Copenhagen model, which is actually still being taught in universities, however has been proven wrong. I was also unaware until I read the book "our mathematical universe" by Max Tegmark (professor at MIT)
    The basic reason Copenhagen model is wrong, is that there is no definition of what an observer is or isnt. When quantum physics first came out, it bothered a lot of scientists and Copenhagen model became a convenient fudge factor that allowed scientists to not have to actually do the math to collapse super position. Unfortunately many people are still not even aware of this mistruth as evidenced by this video from an intelligent and awesome RUclipsr. I hope he takes this comment to heart that it is not for trolling but to spread awareness about what is true. As I said, this comment can't do justice to what is written out there.
    So what actually happens in simple terms? If a particle is in super position, it will stay in super position until ANY particle that is not in super position bumps into it, thus reveling the position of the former super position. Yes, it's that simple.

    Superposition makes me think that the simulation argument is real. Think about it, something that isn't observed is in multiple states. But when it is observed it becomes one state. It's as if until it is observed it has the capability of becoming any state, its like its there to be able to do this based on the observation and environment its in.

    • @nicolasazzi1664
      @nicolasazzi1664 5 лет назад +11

      Simulation theory is most likely real to say the very least about it. The most pertinent question is, ‘WHY are we being simulated?’ The conclusion is simplex enough, but is not something you can explain to someone and it be accepted on its own merit. Rather, that revelation is earned the hard way and you will never likely fully recover from it.

    • @markwedzielewski8186
      @markwedzielewski8186 5 лет назад +9

      Observation is when something is interacted with by other things, ie the light waves that allow you to measure it. Particles do not have a concept of being “looked at” due to them being actual mathematical things, and not human concepts. An “unobserved” particle is one currently not interacting with anything else, as I understand it.

      Akaik, Quantum Entanglement can be thought of as creating two identical (or opposite) superpositions. These superpositions will act the same way if given the same conditions and will always collapse the same way when measured.
      This does not create the ability to transfer new information through one to the other. I'd like to see how such a transfer of information can be explained, but I don't believe that FTL communication can be achieved through something like this.
      I understand that you can use this to transfer a quantum state, by linking the initial quantum state to the first of a entangled pair it is possible to apply it to a new superposition using the second entangled particle, but no new information is carried along with such a transfer. The implications of the results of the collapse in the new location are dependent on how the state collapsed in the first location, and until such information is transferred over the result is incomplete.

    You don't need to break yourself down to subatomic particles in order to teleport. Just Imagine a coin placed on a sheet of paper. Now pick the coin up and place it a few inches away from the original position. From the perspective of the 2D paper, it would appear that the coin has magically disappeared from Point A and reappeared in point B, a.k.a. teleported. But in reality, the coin has travelled through the 3rd dimension. Similarly what if we can find a way to travel through a 4th special dimension. In our world, it would appear that you have just disappeared into thin air and reappeared into another place.
    I believe matter can travel through the 4th dimension. That is the single logical explanation of why Big bang created so much matter out of nothing. The Mass always existed in the 4th dimension. It just intersected with our universe. Just like if you drop a coin suddenly into a piece of paper. it would appear that the mass suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

    • @robertserban2008
      @robertserban2008 5 лет назад +1

      Nice way of thinking my friend, but let me point out some interesting things about this:
      From a 2D creatures's perspective It would have appeared, that a 1 dimensional line, (that he sees) just disappeared from his perspective, from point A, and after some time, that line (1D cross section of the 3D coin) reappeared elsewhere in Point B. (Everything here is only possible if we assume, that TIME is not really a dimension, but a concept, that is present in every possible spacial dimension, we know / or not know of.) In this case, the coin is not really teleporting, because from the 2D creature's perspective it still took some time for the event to happen. In fact the coin MUST have moved slower that way, because you was not moving the coin in a perfect straight line, but moved outside of that 2D cross section, into infinite amounts of 2D cross section (through 3D, and lets say this is the upside movement)
      It wasn't really teleportation, because we didn't move faster than light. We just left that 2D cross section for some time, and then revisited it. The whole thing of teleportation is around the question if it is ever possible to send information or matter faster than light. And yeah there are some theories, that the closer you get to the speed of light, the time will slow down more and more from your perspective relative to others, that aren't moving that fast. In fact they say if we were to ever reach the speed of light, Time for us would completely stop, and from our perspective, we would travel anywhere instantly, with no time. From this theory tho, we face tons of more questions about the concept of time. Is it a Dimension? Is it not? Or is it a dimension, but not a spatial one? Or is it a spatial dimension also? ( In the concept of if you want to pass a big wall, you just move 1000 years through time when the wall was not built yet, then move back to present, and you passed it.
      So much about that for now.. The other thing you said, is that you believe that matter can travel through the 4th dimension. The problem is that, we don't even fully understand 0D, 1D, or 2D, let alone 4D.. I mean we understand 3D pretty well right? We know life can exist here. We also know that 3D is the combination of infinite amounts of 2D cross sections. Yet we still theorize about possible life in 2D, but in fact: WE ARE LIVING in 2D. More precisely we are living in an infinite amounts of 2D cross sections, aren't we? We are in multiple 2D "worlds" at the same time. Right? Yet we are also living in an infinite amount of 1D cross sections, after the "fact" that a 2D plane is made of infinite amounts of 1D lines. Same with the 0D. The "nothing", the so called: "point", witch has no dimensional space. A topological space. Witch logically has to be nothing right? But yet, infinite amounts of this nothingness are making up a 1 dimensional line. So basically the whole 3D world is made out of 0 Dimentional points, that we are living in at the same time.
      The point that im trying to make is that we don't really understand the Dimensions other than what we live in. 3D. We know that in 3D, a matter can form. A normal 3D object.
      But, can you say that in 2D also? Can something really exist in only one 2D plane? Witch has absolutely 0 thickness to it? Even a paper is a 3D object, because it has length, width, and thickness. even a molecule is 3D, and something with a plank length thickness is still a 3D object. For something to be a true 2D object, it can only have width, and length, but NO thickness AT ALL. By human logic and understanding, there cannot be something that has everything but no thickness, because that is physically nothing. It does not exist. Same for 1D and 0D. Yet we are still here in 3D, witch is made up from these 2D planes, witch has to be impossible again, because nothing times infinity, logically should be 0, because we took infinity, a total of 0 times.. so, not once. In contrary to this, we can also say in a more sophisticated manner that it just doesn't have any meaning, so its neither 0 or 1.
      Thinking more into this whole Dimensional concept, maybe one can realize, or at least consider it as a possibility, that maybe this whole 2D world and 1D world, or even 0D, is only fictional, and only made up by us humans for help, to better understand, or at least, get an idea, or a glimpse of, what the 4D world could actually look like, or be.
      Brakes fully pressed, and Everything aside, because I could go on and on for days about this topic, I like that idea, that in 4D, everything already existed, and matter just intersected with our 3D cross section world.

    One "small" mistake with HUGE consequences. 4:12 "Information can be transferred across vast distances of space".
    This is false. Though the observation of the state of a particle lets you know the state of the other, you cannot transfer any information this way.
    This is because there's no way to "choose"/influence which state the particle will fall into. Even though you know the state of the other particle, it's just a string of random garble, you can't get any information out of it, thus it's not information which is being teleported. If it where, we could have galactic internet with 0 ping, which would be great :D But sadly the world doesn't allow it D:
