    Nice guitar, well demonstrated. Ridiculous price: but Gibson are responsible for that.

      @@soofitnsexyThe prices for originals are dictated by the existence of a collector's market in electric guitars, which has less to do with the quality of those instruments than with rich men's need for bragging rights. The same is true of all quality goods that are available only in limited quantities: owning one becomes purely a question of whether you can afford the market's price, whether you believe that that price is reasonable or not, and regardless of whether you can play.
      Through the Custom Shop, limited runs etc., Gibson are trying to create an artificially restricted market for buyers for have money, but who can't afford to buy at the top of the used market. Once again, the price is determined by what somebody can afford to pay - not by any reasonable relationship to better quality.

    Gibson uses veneer and lots of it.....Gibson's semi-hollowbodies like the ES-335 and ES-339 have tops and backs constructed of layers (either 3 or 4) of maple veneer. My understanding is that the veneers are assembled in successive cross-grain layers with the top layer having its grain longitudinal to the length of the guitar. The tops and backs are approximately 1/4" in thickness after layup.

      Gibson builds the custom shop Les Paul out of veneer wood? No sir.

    I have a 1998 TV White 57 less Paul Special. There is nothing better I was going to buy Real 1957 that I realize that the early custom shop was a much better guitar. It weighs 7 pounds and it’s a less Paul lol

    why is this guitar over 4k?

  • @geoffreycarter3981
    @geoffreycarter3981 5 месяцев назад +1

    obviously this guitar seems perfect, but I am really struggling to see why they price a CS version at $4k+ when the USA version truly seems identical to me for $1800. I am REALLY Impressed with the USA versions, bound neck, pearl logo, etc etc I know the epiphones are good too but I'm not really interested in one. Anyone played both the USA and CS equivalents of the special?

      I know me too.. I have a 2022 Original Collection LP Special and the build quality is superb. Correct me if I’m wrong but they share the same solid slab stained mahogany, same Nitro finish, same wrap around bridge, same pick guard, P90's (which are great) same tuner keys but I’m not sure about electrics but they can’t account for too much more money. I noticed this one has Thumb Bleeders that do not come on the $1,899 version but they’re not expensive and don’t know if the case it comes with is any different or better.
      Anybody know what makes up the $$ difference?
      I love the TV Yellow but I got the Vintage Cherry because it was less seen and the transparency allows the wood grain to show real well.

      They are very different in real life. Built differently, different quality of woods and superior custom p-90s.
