Meanwhile japanese ATM's "do you want 10x1000 yen?"
There would also be times when the business would say to the customer: "oh forget it, just take the candy, I barely make profit from that anyway". But then they would try to compensate next time by asking some other customer with a big bill to buy more.... or let them keep the change. Sometimes it's with the timing and mood of the storekeeper haha!
I know this is just a silly gag. But honestly, you need to change your IDR50/100K at the mini markets to smaller bills. First thing you must do! Small stalls (and public transport) like these only has small money after around 2-3 hours since they open. Because the owner sums up and banks their income often (for safety, sometimes). But mini markets will always have smaller bills in their register. And if they don't have any, they are obligated to look for one. Just a suggestion to anyone considering going to Indonesia but don't want to experience this. Also, it's always better to know a local there as your informal guide. People won't trick you if you have one. I knew this from my local friend. Haha.
Cabinet meeting: Sir, how can we increase our Forex Reserves Minister - By telling these small vendors for lying the tourists of not keeping big change with them, & after each quarter taxing these vendors 🗿
Ah, yes. I've played the 'change game' in India. At the same time, I have found Indians to have an incredible ability to sort out "right change" from a collection of different value coins and notes.

By using such terms, we risk reinforcing stereotypes and overlooking the dignity and complexity of people's lives in those regions. Let's be more mindful about our humor and strive for a world that's respectful and inclusive for everyone.
This German guy's actions help to create a world where people get to know each other and have a good laugh together. Even people from distant cultures. You somehow missed the fact that the "local vendor" guy participated willingly and was very well aware of what that skit was about. So you think this whole thing is questionable, but he obviously doesn't - on the contrary, he, the vendor, seems to be enjoying himself filming it. Don't get me wrong - you're making a fair point. But not here. Your comment is misplaced. There's not a hint of malintent, ridicule or haughtiness here. Zero. If you think you see it then it says something about you. Go do some sports, your perspective will shift.
@@jansoltes971 Context matters. The title change from '3rd world country' suggests awareness of its potential harm. It's about the broader message and the fine line between humor and disrespect. The vendor's participation doesn't nullify the risk of perpetuating such stereotypes. And concerns raised by multiple commenters highlight it is not an isolated perspective.
Lighten up, dude. Don't get easily agitated by a joke. No need to escalate things unnecessarily. I have a good friend in Indonesia. And we laugh our hearts out seeing this skit. Who cares? The world is how it is. We can enjoy it or be negative about it. People in poor countries are generally happier than those in the west for a reason. Because they see the bright side of life. Apparently you do not.
@@SBmasta441 Title change already minimizes my objections, but your comment misses the point entirely. Your view that 'poor people are happier' is frankly naive. Dismissing valid concerns as 'negativity' only reveals a lack of depth in your understanding global disparities and human dignity.
