I’ve seen many star destroyers throughout the ages, so I was confident in guessing the ships in this video. The first entry was enough to know that I had no idea what any of these ships were or what material they’re from
I knew all of these, though had forgotten the Force Unleashed variant ship. The Tector and the Pride of Tarlandia/Ilthmar's Fist may have been intended to be the same ship, from an earlier stage of the ROTJ script, where the 'communication ship' might have featured. Deleted test footage seems to support it being in there originally.
There were several different bridge towers built for the Executor, and we see one used to represent the ship at 2:07. It has a larger bridge window than the final version (which may be overscale as a result)
The Dark Empire series has some of my favorite ship designs in Star Wars. The Doombringer and Vengeance are also some very interesting designs as well.
As you were going through this list I could ID every star destroyer type you brought up. Then you got to the final ships and actually brought up something I had never even heard of.
+Chris sonofPear Tales in general is not necessarily canon to Legends, but a character from that particular story arc did show up in a full legends comic later so the story was retroactively mostly canonized.
Fernando Marques it could also be the executor while its being built because it was in production in the clone wars and its purpose would be to defend kuat/coruscant, but idk
Love all of these designs it would have been great to see this level of variaty in the imperial fleet during the original trilogy it could have brought in some awesome background details
I think the Communications star destroyer could easily be an Allegiance. It is known that Death Squadron had one in 3 ABY and it makes sense the second-largest ship in the fleet would be the second in command. Not to mention the Allegiance-class is merely a larger Imperial class so the description fits.
Well who ever design these was either on drugs or really hates the empire. I always like before I watch the video because I know I will like it and great video.
That particular arc of Star Wars Tales was set I think either before Naboo or between Naboo and the Clone Wars leading a lot of people to think that it was a Mandator 1 or Mandator 2. (SW Tales were also not necessarily canon to legends until they were referenced in another Legends [Or at the time "C-Canon"] work which that particular arc was when its protagonist showed up in Dark horse's Star Wars: Rebellion.)
Honestly, we have to admit, that most likely all these Star Destroyers were meant to be Imperial class Star Destroyers, but have been drawn by the artists in such a bad way, that now we talk about distinctly different vessels...
Impressed, I usually know 90-100% of what you post already, but I barely knew anything from this list! And as always u deliver it to us so well. No idea what you were on when I first subbed but you've diffinitly grown and I thought about time I commented something, congrats on 200k ecks, u deserve it!
5:19 “based on the presence of acclimators, I would guess that this is during the clone wars” observe the Tie Fighter towards the front of the image, and the Super Star Destroyer look to the ship you claim not to recognise.
I like the battlecruiser. My favorite class both in real life, and star wars is the battle cruiser. it comes from my two other favorite classes the heavy cruiser and battleship, combining the speed of the cruiser, and armor and armament of a battleship. seems perfect, but alas if only it could carry bombers.
depends on what your fighting. andything thats not a battleship goes down. its speed also makes it better against destroyers and air targets, a huge flaw of the regular battleship.
Attempt 2, short list. Please like and comment a number, Thank you 🙂 1) StarCraft vs Halo Can Reach survive a Zerg invasion? 2) 2 Harrower Dreadnaughts vs 1 Imperial Star Destroyer 3) Factions Compared Best Military Commander
I've always operated under the assumption that the communications star destroyer was an Allegiance-class. I based this off of the information for the Imperial fleet forces for Endor listing at least two battlecruisers with the Pride of Tarlandia being named as a battlecruiser. If you cross reference that with the Allegiance-class' (itself a class of battlecruiser) designated roles within the fleet, two of those roles are listed as 'command ship' and 'communications ship'. Combining the Pride of Tarlandia's designation as a battlecruiser and the Allegiance-class' designated roles as both a command ship and a communications ship it doesn't seem like much of a stretch to assume that the two are synonymous.
I wasn't aware that a hangar was mentioned honestly. As for the type not being invented that doesn't matter quite as much considering how many times things have been retconned in the franchise. The hangar would be a far bigger hang up than the type's debut in the universe.
True. The book (I still have it somewhere) said Lando flew into the a hangar area to unload torpedoes towards the reactors, before escaping. Then Blue Leader (in a B-Wing) was killed trying to outrun the blast.
Noice. Keep it up Eck. Definitely more legacy content fo sho. Recusant Class Light Destroyer vs Something (Gladiator Class Star Destroyer, MC75, Assault Frigate Mark II, etc.)
Also, if any one has the X-Wing: The Warrior Princess comic story, they might be able to SEE it briefly, in a flashback. Unless it's a badly drawn Executor being shown.
Noooo Eck you missed one! The chiss Ascendancy Star destroyer. Would've made a great addition to the list! Alternatively you could do a vid on some of the chiss capital ships? Ascendancy, phalaxy battleship, even the auriek carrier?
I definitly need to find these dark empire comics...lots of interesting lore from legends there. Especially since I was quite disapointed by disney's star wars movies...
Best transforming Fighter: VF-11 thunderbolt from Macross plus vs the Union Flag from Gundam 00 vs the Viking from StarCraft vs the Mecha Tengu from Command and Conquer.
there's also those odd looking Imperial ships in the original Battlefront 2 that spawned as escorts with the main ship, they acted as extra points if you destroyed them, theyre called Victory II frigates and here's their Wiki starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Victory_II-class_frigate
Hey ecks I can remember when I was just chilling and reading a star wars novel, and it mentioned a space station the size of a planet can you think of the name?
The expanded universe comics are great, but remember that nearly all of what is now being packaged and sold as "Marvel" was in fact made by Dark Horse. That company held the license for years, and Marvel only got it back from Disney after Dark Horse's license to publish expanded universe materials expired- right around the time of the Disney takeover.
Forerunners would win, they build things on a scale that the Ancients could not deal with...plus, all they need to do is plop a Halo Array down in there section of the galaxy, and boom, no more life for 25k Light years
jesse klassen But the Ancients were so advanced that they came to a higher plane of existance which made them almost impossible to kill. They also had a device that could destroy the entire milkyway galaxy. And also a device that were made to kill the ori which is another sort of species that were able to get to a higher plane of existance
Are we talking about the Ancients after they Ascended? cuz if so, then there is no way to beat them. Also the Forerunners were just as advanced, they just were advanced in different Ways...more focused on Weapons and massive buildings in space and such. think about it, they fought the Ancient Humans, who were damn near equal to them for Centuries. Hell, from what I remember the final battle for the capital of the Humans lasted a Century. Then they fought the Flood for Centuries. So by that time they would have had SO many advanced Weapons that it would be insane. Also, Super Advanced AI that could prob Hack into anything the Ancients had, and turn it against them
The first image shown for the 4 unknown ship looks like an enforcer picket crustier. Also I knew about the communication ship and we need a design it would be cool.
One of the star destroyer types shown in the Force Unleashed portion of this video (the second one specifically) looks a bit like one of the ships seen on the Dark Empire cover also shown in the video. Perhaps they're of the same class?
I think there was the Gunstar Destroyer it sacrificed it's hanger capacity for more weapons and the capacitors to use them at least that's what I remember.
Hey Eck, my main proposition for a future video is more of an idea for a new series; but before we talk about that i wanted to ask you a lore/science based question. I know there are ion cannons in the star wars universe but my limited knowledge an I have never heard of or know if its even possible to ionize a turbo laser shot. I on occasion like to design capital ships and some of my designs have a axial super heavy turbo laser. I was wondering if its grounded in the star wars universe to ionize the axial turbo laser shot either before or after it leaves the barrel. I'm having a lot of fun making these ship and your videos help me find weaknesses and balance in my ships. I really don't want to design anymore around a axial ionized turbo laser if it isn't even possible. Please let me know in the comments if you have heard of anything like that or if you believe it would be possible in the star wars universe. My idea for a new video would revolve around large battles conveyed beautifully with your majestic voice and amazing story telling abilities. The series would consist of an iconic "supercapital" ship like the eclipse or the executor with a small escort fleet battling it out to the death with a second fleet with a make up strong enough to give it a run for its money. The fleet make up and size would be completely up to you; whatever you feel stands a chance against the super's. I think this could work with your current series, star ship verses, or as somewhat of a stand alone. Super Capital ships are one of my favorite aspects of the star wars universe and a combination of your knowledge, enthusiasm, voice, and story telling capabilities would make for an amazing few videos. That said, everything I've watched that you've made so far I've loved; keep up the amazing work! P.S. I loved both episodes of the "after Endor" series and would love to see them return. You are an amazing story teller!
Darth Thrawn thank you so much for the support! The "ship designs" are mostly sketches so they aren't super good or detailed... if your still interested and there is a way I can send them to you let me know!
JediAcolyte22 thank you. I'm actually a subscriber to Manda-LORE it seems that I simply forgot to put on notifications and forgot about the channel. Besides that have a great day.
The story is a bit tangled. The Death Star novel tried to summarise it, but mixed things up a bit regarding Danuta and Darknell. Shadows of the Empire and X-Wing Alliance adequately cover how the second one was discovered.

Another Great Video 👍
I say this from my soul when I say you deserve waaaaaay more than 200k but congratulations on the milestone
Trevor 1205
Nice Clone Commando Picture 👍
Tim Bartsch I use this picture for everything I love the Commandos and the novels
Trevor 1205
Awesome dude I've read the Republic Commando Books as well and they were great to read
I’ve seen many star destroyers throughout the ages, so I was confident in guessing the ships in this video. The first entry was enough to know that I had no idea what any of these ships were or what material they’re from
I’m gonna keep a tally from now on whenever you notice my comments
You wut? Didn't play jedi knight 2?
A. Ahmou no I wasn’t interested in Star Wars back then but now it’s like any info that I don’t know is super exciting to learn about it
I knew all of these, though had forgotten the Force Unleashed variant ship. The Tector and the Pride of Tarlandia/Ilthmar's Fist may have been intended to be the same ship, from an earlier stage of the ROTJ script, where the 'communication ship' might have featured. Communications star destroyer. " It was never pictured" so I have probably never seen this ship, the title is correct :)
Actually, it MAY have been seen in the X-Wing: Warrior Princess comic, in a flashback to Endor.
I've never heard that before. I'll have to check it out
Can you source links
I still have the comic. It's early on when Ibtisam is discussing her past.
It's the SDAN Star Destroyer Area Network its how they get their Holonet.
Should do a lore video on smaller Imperial star ships; like the Strike-class Cruiser, picket ships, gunboats and the like.
The Dark Empire series has some of my favorite ship designs in Star Wars. The Doombringer and Vengeance are also some very interesting designs as well.
Isn't any flying triangle a Star Destroyer???
you dont even know your own ships
Big space doritos certainly are
i dont even know you anymore
Canadious
Flying triangle is about 80% of the imperial navy. Even corvettes, cruisers and carriers are giant triangles.
Hehehe
As you were going through this list I could ID every star destroyer type you brought up. Then you got to the final ships and actually brought up something I had never even heard of.
In the end, the SSD you point out surrounded by Acclamator ASs might be the famed Pride of the Core, perhaps?
Some have theorised it's a Mandator, yes, or a close rival design. Tales comics are not always clearly in continuity in Legends though.
+Chris sonofPear Tales in general is not necessarily canon to Legends, but a character from that particular story arc did show up in a full legends comic later so the story was retroactively mostly canonized.
Depends if the picture is supposed to be generic or more closely tied to the story of the comic, also.
Fernando Marques it could also be the executor while its being built because it was in production in the clone wars and its purpose would be to defend kuat/coruscant, but idk
Love all of these designs it would have been great to see this level of variaty in the imperial fleet during the original trilogy it could have brought in some awesome background details

Congrats for 200k subs man👌🏿
Well who ever design these was either on drugs or really hates the empire. I always like before I watch the video because I know I will like it and great video.
Someone call FractalSponge and have him make this stuff
A very many congratulations on 200k eckharts it must definitely feel goof
Love your vids keep up the good work

Imperial II vs Keldabe Battleship! Lets go!
I say Keldabe because it's able to drain shields for its own. Plus it has mass driver cannons.
Love your channel. Your knowledge and the pursuit of it in both canon and non canon timelines is fantastic. Keep up the amazing research.
Honestly, we have to admit, that most likely all these Star Destroyers were meant to be Imperial class Star Destroyers, but have been drawn by the artists in such a bad way, that now we talk about distinctly different vessels...

Anti-planetary shield face off; Torpedo Sphere vs. Mandator IV
Impressive. Most impressive.
Good work! Glad to see your channel growing!
congrats for reaching 200k+ subs!!!! 🎊🎉🎊🎉
you've come a long way. 😁👍
Interesting video keep up the good work and the legends series is one of my favorite and overall I learn something new
Congrats on 200K

Milk 7504 if admirals use battlecruisers as they were intended, they can be useful but when they are used as battleship, they die.
depends on what your fighting. andything thats not a battleship goes down. its speed also makes it better against destroyers and air targets, a huge flaw of the regular battleship.
All ships present at the battle of coruscant vs the byss fleet during shadow hand.
2:48 That star destroyer you pointed to in the middle looks kinda like an acclamator to me
Tie Hunter vs X-wing
I can't believe how far you have come over the last year.
Congrats on 200k man!
You deserve every one!
That’s some way out there lore, I’m really digging it!
That was super interesting :)
Also, congratulations on >200k subs Ecks!! You really deserve it and more!!
Dark Helmet Vs Darth Vader
YES! This must happen!
Dark helmet all the way
Another great video...

So this is it, 200K subs. Congrats Eck you really deserve it !Thanks for making every day more enjoyable.
Yey 200k finally!

Well, the Allegiance class hadn't been invented when the novelization was written, and it seems to lack hangars, unlike the ones in the novelization.
I wasn't aware that a hangar was mentioned honestly.
As for the type not being invented that doesn't matter quite as much considering how many times things have been retconned in the franchise.
The hangar would be a far bigger hang up than the type's debut in the universe.

Ah, didn't know that.
Learned something new today.
Noice. Keep it up Eck. Definitely more legacy content fo sho.
Recusant Class Light Destroyer vs Something (Gladiator Class Star Destroyer, MC75, Assault Frigate Mark II, etc.)
The Pride of Tarlandia could've been a Allegiance class battlecruiser or Praetor Mark II class battlecruiser.
Also, if any one has the X-Wing: The Warrior Princess comic story, they might be able to SEE it briefly, in a flashback. Unless it's a badly drawn Executor being shown.
I thought the Com ship at Endor would be a Preator II-class.
I still like the one that's just a double decker star destroyer, because that seems super useful in space combat.
Noooo Eck you missed one! The chiss Ascendancy Star destroyer. Would've made a great addition to the list! Alternatively you could do a vid on some of the chiss capital ships? Ascendancy, phalaxy battleship, even the auriek carrier?
Awesome as always
4:06
That green ship looks like a Klingon Bird-of-Prey without wings.
congratulations on 200k subs, i love your channel
Congrats on 200k Eckharts!!!, been here since 7k
i hope you make videos about the comic books you just bought, but all of your videos are good
Always good to look into the obscure side of the lore of any series, it's the side that keeps you curious
(P.s congrats on 200k m8)
I was explaining what net neutrality was to my mother and a net neutrality ad started to play, the timing was awesome. Lmao
I definitly need to find these dark empire comics...lots of interesting lore from legends there.
Especially since I was quite disapointed by disney's star wars movies...
The Doomgiver is an ingenious ship, if it was pared up with a fleet,
Any video relating to the old Marvel comics would be awesome. Those stories don't get anything near the attention they deserve nowadays.
Great video as always Eck!
Can you do The Eclipse vs The Supremacy sometime? :p
The ones in byss appears in alliance mod of empire at war
Best transforming Fighter: VF-11 thunderbolt from Macross plus vs the Union Flag from Gundam 00 vs the Viking from StarCraft vs the Mecha Tengu from Command and Conquer.

Yeah, I remember those. I think Wookieepedia is wrong on the length though, as they seem no bigger than a Nebulon frigate. Maybe only 275 metres?
Chris sonofPear yeah I'm disagreeing with the wiki to on that
I seem to remember them looking as long as the width of an ISD tower, which is where my estimate came from.
Chris sonofPear yeah I can see that
Congrats on 200k subs!
Hey ecks I can remember when I was just chilling and reading a star wars novel, and it mentioned a space station the size of a planet can you think of the name?
Eckharts man, when are we getting that faction’s comparison of dental plans?
2:47 the bottom ship which was the second to be pointed out was an acclamator assualt ship
The expanded universe comics are great, but remember that nearly all of what is now being packaged and sold as "Marvel" was in fact made by Dark Horse. Wow, I actually didn’t know a lot of those.............surprising
Where can I see all of fractal sponges work?
fractalsponge.net
2:48 i've always been under the impression that the ship below the Eclipse' bow was an Acclamator.
Way too big
That ship with Acclamator may be famous Republic Supercruiser.
Great work on getting 200k subs :D
Do a part of this video because there are more Obscure Star Destroyer types out there.
I'm such a proud nerd that I knew all of them!
You should touch on the Adz-class patrol destroyer one day.
Could you do a Harrower class Star Destroyer vs a Imperial 2 class Star Destroyer?
Would love more lore from comics
Hello There
General Kenobi u were first
General Kenobi GEnEraL KenObi
2:49, the lower obscure Star Destroyer is a aclemator (probably spelled wrong), you can tell by it's bridge, stern, and lower hull.
Ancients (Stargate) vs forerunners (halo)
Asgard (Stargate) vs Borg (Star Trek)
Replicators (Stargate) vs Borg (Star Trek)

Krogan vs Brutes [36th ask]
Here’s another idea: Independence Day 1 invasion force (Mothership and city destroyer fleet) vs Admiral Trench’s armada at crystophsis
The first image shown for the 4 unknown ship looks like an enforcer picket crustier. Also I knew about the communication ship and we need a design it would be cool.
Please more Legacy Era Content!
One of the star destroyer types shown in the Force Unleashed portion of this video (the second one specifically) looks a bit like one of the ships seen on the Dark Empire cover also shown in the video. Perhaps they're of the same class?
please god yes i wanna see those comics
The ship at the end could be the pride of the core, if it's clone wars era
Do a video on what can defeat a Resurgent class Battle cruiser
I think there was the Gunstar Destroyer it sacrificed it's hanger capacity for more weapons and the capacitors to use them at least that's what I remember.
what about the Sorannan class?
Darth Thrawn thank you so much for the support! The "ship designs" are mostly sketches so they aren't super good or detailed... if your still interested and there is a way I can send them to you let me know!
benny chesney I'm definitely still interested, and i'm on twitter (Dreadwolf02) and tumblr (sirkingalot) if you want to send them that way:)
Darth Thrawn hey man I can't find your Twitter handle
benny chesney i think i gave you the wrong thing (i've never really done anything with twitter) here's the handle @CalebQueen02
Destiny Guardian vs Master Chief
you should do a summary of the Legacy era
You should do some videos on those comics.
Has there been a versus where The Flood go up against the alien from "The Thing"?
What about the Twilight? It’s a mix between a victory class and imperial class, also possessing a superlaser at its prow.
Do we have time for bonus ship? Yes we have
How many ISD's do you think you would need to take on a Super star destroyer
I would say 20 to 30 maybe, assuming the fighters also get to use torpedoes.
I got a question how did the Alliance learned of the Death Star in legends?
Gilberto Cortez Spy networks, I think
JediAcolyte22 thank you. I'm actually a subscriber to Manda-LORE it seems that I simply forgot to put on notifications and forgot about the channel. Besides that have a great day.
