Also another piece of advice, if you fire the KH58U's at the max launch range of the 25MPU, they tend not to get intercepted as easily as the booster of the 58 will still be firing on the downwards trajectory into the target. This is useful for anti-ship missions as well against OHPs and Arleigh Burkes :D

hi, i used to play with the exact same setup you have (t16000 stick, m&kb) until very recently, here are the keybinds that worked well for me, its completely up to you if you already have something you are comfortable with though :) im right handed and had my mouse between my stick and keyboard for looking around, my left hand would alternate between my mouse and numpad while my right hand always stays on the stick numpad 7, 9 --> throttle up/ down (i used ralt and rctrl as modifier keys for L/R engine incase one of them got shot out, which happens A LOT on low level attacks against cannon aa) numpad 8,4,5,6 --> target cursor slew numpad +/- --> shkval zoom in/out stick top right button & numpad enter --> target lock keyboard backspace --> target unlock numpad 0 --> launch permission override (sometimes on attack runs you will find yourself just barely out of launch parameters because the shkval takes forever to lock on, you will notice this especially when trying to hit multiple targets in one run with vikhirs. press this button to let you get that quick shot off if you are just within max range) keyboard arrow keys --> target size increase/decrease (almost never used this in practice, for all vehicle targets 10m seemed to be perfect) stick top left button --> countermeasures both dispense (easy to spam when panicking) numpad / --> chaff dispense numpad * --> flares dispense numpad . --> countermeasures continously dispense (easy to reach and hit with left thumb just before running in for an attack, but must remember to switch off since manual dispensing wont work while continous dispensing is on) stick top center button --> autopilot override (because you will spend a lot of time in autopilot modes flying the frogfoot) numpad 1,3 & stick twist axis --> rudder left/right numpad 2 --> wheel brakes keyboard Pgup/Pgdn --> zoom in / out *slow* (there are a few zoom settings, slow is the one you want because its the smooth one and the other ones zoom in increments) i used the 6 buttons on the left side of the stick base for my different modes (nav / a-g / a-a), dont bother assigning them to anything important since they are difficult to press quickly while maneuvering the plane in stressful situation with this controls setup i had all the important buttons to fly the plane within reach of my 2 hands, and they worked well too when i moved on to the flaming cliffs 3 planes, but you might want to bind laser on/off to something more convienient since you need to press it frequently on ground attack runs with laser missiles
also some more tips for the su25t: the jet has has built in infared jamming, which you can enable with Lshift+e. this will improve the defence against heat seeking rocket launchers when flying low, and there is basically no downside to having it on all the time. you know its on when russian letters resembling COEN appear on the left of your hud im sure you already know this one, but you can also do radar jamming by pressing e on keyboard if you have the mps-410 ecm pods on your outer pylons. this is good for sead attacks against radar sams you can enable salvo mode with Lctrl+v when attacking with vikhirs or s-8/s-5 rockets, it lets you fire 2 vikhirs at once or fire with all your rocket pods at the same time. you can tell its on when your vikhir aiming reticle is centred instead of offset to one side when you have a target locked

I would be happy to use the autopilot but it messes up the trimming and sadly there is no button to "reset trimming" that's why I don't use it, is "auto pilot override" reset trimming because I didn't try this button yet. @@Hunter_i86 there is a autopilot mode called "transition to level flight control" (default Lalt+3) that will automatically level out your aircraft in flight. expect to use this a lot when flying the su25t. to return to neutral takeoff trim im afraid you must do manually by looking at trim indicator as for autopilot override, it is a push and hold and will let you take control over autopilot while you are holding down the button. this is best used to make small adjustments to flight path while autopilot is on without turning off the autopilot altogether (for example, if you are in altitude hold mode and want to climb slightly, you can push & hold override, pitch up, then release override button at desired altitude. the autopilot hold mode would then re-engage and hold you at new altitude) to disable autopilot completely, default control is "autopilot disengage" (Lalt+9). however, this WILL NOT return your trim to previous position (if you are in banking turn due to route following mode when a/p is disengaged, your wing down trim stays, this is why the aircraft sometimes rolls violently into the ground even after disengaging a/p). to counter this, make sure your aircraft is flying level before turning off a/p. sometimes i like to use level flight transition a/p mode to return my aircraft to a level state before disengaging autopilot
@@Hunter_i86 as for other useful autopilot modes in su25t, i will list the few i used the most: *Attitude Hold (Lalt+1)* this mode holds your current aircraft attitude (i.e. your pitch and roll). i found it the most useful immediately after takeoff to put my plane in a climb while i looked at other stuff in the f10 map (takeoff > gear & flaps up > pitch at 10-15 degrees > attitude hold on) and let the plane do the boring climb for you lol *Autopilot (A)* follows waypoints in mission planner. in nav (MPW) mode, cycle through waypoints with (Lctrl+`) and (Lshift+`), and this autopilot mode will bring you directly to them (to see waypoint numbers, open f10 map and press the button at the top that looks like 3 dots connected by lines. this should let you see all waypoints and route lines on the map). however, i find this a/p function best used in rtb (B3B) and landing (HOC) modes. you can cycle between nav/rtb/lndg mode by pressing 1 a few times. engaging this "A" autopilot in rtb mode will fly you straight back to the base you departed from and put you on the landing glideslope, all automatically. the only thing you will have to manage is throttle/gear/flaps/airbrake since the a/p does not control that. using this properly, you can rtb from engagement zone all the way to final approach without ever touching the stick. the a/p cant land for you though, so you must disengage and take manual control before touchdown. *Altitude and roll hold* this mode keeps both your current altitude and roll. it is useful for quickly and easily establishing a holding pattern, whether to orbit around target zone or do stuff in f10 map etc. HOWEVER, because this mode preserves roll angle, you must remember to retrim aircraft after disengaging autopilot, be it manually or with level flight transition
@@Hunter_i86 a final word about autopilot: it helps greatly to memorise which combination of lights on the autopilot panel represent which autopilot modes, atleast for the common modes like level flight, attitude hold and "A" mode i must apologise for the long comments, dcs is just such a complex game and there really isnt a way to teach it in a concise manner. Pickinthebanjo has a great 5min tutorial video for su25t autopilot, just search dcs su25t autopilot tutorial and it should be there.
You should get the Logitech extreme pro joystick, its only 30 usd and is actually really nice. Alot of poeple say its bad and cheap but its actually pretty smooth and reliable. Ive had mine for many months and I love it. Also, loving the frogfoot content!
I have Thrustmaster T16000M but I must play with left hand and free look with mouse in right hand. Takes time to get used to, also I spent a lot of time playing WT sim using M&K so it is very difficult to change now.
U should download standalone version from brower and request the vehicles for 14days. I've tried F-18, F-16 and Su-33. I can't wait to see u fly some fighters. The F-18's single player missions are amazing. Like dogfights against; 1 MiG-21, 3×MiG15, 1×Su27 and bvr against 4 MiG23.
Some tips: -you can rearm with canopy closed -it's easy to overspeed, be careful. Max speed is 800km/h in the base model (there is a mark on the speed indicator), but in the t version it's a little bit lower. If the cockpit shakes you are going too fast -playing with mouse and keyboard is very difficult. Try to buy a used hotas X for about €30. It's crap shitty cheap hotas but it's game changer to use a hotas. You can upgrade to better hardware later. - for head tracking I can suggest you some options: opentrack + aitrack(free), opentrack with its built in face tracking neuralnet (not sure on the name but you'll find it easily, this method is free too), opentrack + aruco marker(the best free option, but you have to put a qrcode on your head), trackhat(lot of people think it's good but I could never play with it. It would be very uncomfortable for me) and delanclip(like track it but much cheaper. If you have a ps3eye you can modify your own and save some more money). -as first module I'll buy flaming cliffs 3 pack when sales are on. It contains all the low fidelity aircrafts and it costs only $25 dollars. The planes are very cool and lots of mods are based on these planes. Fc3 includes also su 25a (first and lighter version of su 25t. A completely different experience)

I suggest you disable labels, so you will get similar experience as in war thunder on ground RB. It will be hard at the beginning but then you will have even better eyesight and it will be easier
Do you not have a HOTAS? Honestly would be more than willing to donate somewhere to at least get you a starter one. DCS is so much fun to just throw the aircraft around with the stick a bit. Especially the Su-27's. They have a weird tendency to pitch up and down when you speed up or down (respectively), but when you get a feel for the airframe it is so much fun to loop around and such.
I have a Thrustmaster stick but I can't use it with right hand because I use mouse to free look with right hand, tried Smoothtrack app but no good results.
@@Hunter_i86 That's fair, I did it accidentally once but there is a work-around to toggle 'auto tracking' targets, can help with offsetting not being able to freelook as well. I've tried the IR tracking stuff as well and am really not a fan either. Hoping to eventually have enough to try VR and then truly enjoy flying 'in cockpit'
@@Hunter_i86 controls> Axis Commands > TDC Slew Horizontal/Vertical (mouse) in a heading for mouse u set Mouse X for Horizontal and Mouse Y for Vertical, that works as well in FC3 planes to move lock cursor (the circled one) around main hud, same as in su 25T for locking visually targets on the ground :), pro tip F16 is playable with mouse and keyboard as well ;) telling U that cause for 1k hours i played f16 with mouse and keyboard, so yeah u can master that :D oh and Mouse Z is for zoom if u want to use scroll for camera zoom but U probably know that :D cheers ;) great video btw ;)

If you see it in VR +HOTAS :) VR and DCS is a bit a pain (and you need quite the good hardware) but totally worth it. Haven't started DCS in 2d mode for two years.

If you want to get rid of the names over aircraft and vehicles, you can press left-shift and F-10 to cycle through the name modes :))

pro tip: when watching weapon, few seconds before it hits the target, press Ctrl+F11. ;)
You can get a sound mod to translate russian to english same thing with the french and other non english modules

What?! How? haha .. that can be a life saver! I couldn't do anything with mouse .. even clicks can't be modifiers which I'm used to in War Thunder.

I might do but I didn't change a lot of things .. only basic flight buttons like pitching, rolling to WASD, Q&E .. and TV screen is Ctrl + WASD.

I tried to play DCS with keyboard and mouse but couldnt figure out how to fly right and i see you fly as if you be playing the game for years.
Maybe because I play WT sim with mouse and keyboard and trying to use similar buttons in DCS, at least the basic flying buttons.

yo what are your keybinds are they the original?
I didn't change much, WASD for pitching and rolling, F flaps, G landing gears, H airbrake ... etc, the basic flight buttons.

What are labels? haha, I'm a beginner my friend, there are a lot of stuff I don't know about DCS.
@@Hunter_i86 the red words on top of enemy/friendly units, press Lshift+f10 a few times and you will see them disappear

Changed some of the basic buttons and made it similar to WT

Do I need head tracking? My camera does not turn but I have mouse and a gaming laptop keyboard with a high fps.
I tried it with mouse and keyboard, not very good experience .. flight stick and head-tracking are recommended.
