Eastleigh Lakeside Railway - Summer Loco Gala - 24/06/12

I made my first visit to the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway for their Summer Loco Gala, held on Sunday 24th June. With up to seventeen locos running on their 1¼ mile dual gauge network, the gauges been 10¼ inches and 7¼ inches.
Locos in action during the event were:

- LNER A4 class 4-6-2 No.4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley" (10¼)

As my first time visiting I must say I was very impressed, it is a lovely railway with a very nice collection of locos.

Thank you very much Tim =) They sure do have a lovely collection of locos, two of my favourites are the Britannia and Lord Nelson. I was surprised to see the lawnmower being hauled around like that, a novel idea. It was a very good day and a superb gala, I look forward to returning sometime during the year =)

Marvellous Kris. Thats the way to do a gala. Lovely " just like the real thing " locos. How about that blue Coronation? Wow. Love their version of a freight with the lawnmowers and wheelbarrow. Great action all round. Nice one mate. All the best....Tim.
