I'm loving your throwback reviews Chef! Been looking for reviews of earlier figures with great video quality. Appreciate your reviews of the Unicron trilogy figs, looking forward to more in the future.
I feel bad for pulling out the batteries in my old transformers a few years ago to be safe when some died. By the time I had second thoughts I realized I got them mixed up with each other and most weren't dead. Whatever the generic demo batteries they used for these armada figures 20 years back they're infinitely more reliable of a quality than the pricey ones somehow. I got a feeling if I managed to somehow figure out which ones still had a charge they'd still be working. Despite universe RAMJET technically not being a member of the main seeker trio you could kinda consider him somewhat of a third/fourth member depending on whether you use thundercracker as super starscream or not. I kinda feel like the weird splitting of the deluxe class T30 versions of these guys between several subscription service, region, and convention exclusives was sort of a precursor to the stuff that went on with the Earthrise seekers and coneheads. Never got those T30 deluxe versions aside from the basic starscream, so I'm hoping the legacy versions are easier to get in terms of updates. Shame the legacy one doesn't attempt to include the sword gimmick at all, though.
oh man, sorry to hear that... yeah, exclusives suck... well, i'm actually kinda glad they're putting separate sword weapons on the upcoming legacy mold.... the wing to sword gimmick is a little scary for me... i feel after removing and replacing the wing/swords, that it will grow loose over time...
Fantastic review Chefatron!!!! Thundercracker is extra special to me, since he, along with Cyclonus were the first Transformers figures I ever purchased from the Internet back in 2003. :D Keep on being amazing.
Nice review ! I love Armada . There is also Universe Ramjet and Costco exclusive Energon Starscream repaint of the Armada mold that also came with a repaint of Armada Ref Alert.
@@chefatron yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Being forty sucks, man! But, I do have many of my original g1 toys (in horribly loved and slightly broken shape), so I can’t complain too much lol
@@chefatron Damn… My friend loves this character, but straight up refuses to get him because “he’s smaller than the original.” I was hoping he wasn’t right. (I still preordered though.)
My only question with this mold is why did they stop with the articulation i mean all it needed left was outward leg movement and he movement then thats it
That's a weird issue with a lot of figures from the armada line.Some figures it's somewhat excusable if a gimmick is involved, but usually it's just weird stuff they could have easily implemented being omitted.
@@Sleesus yeah the only one i don't mind much about articulation was demolisher since he had enought for what he is he could pull some pretty good poses
@@charperalta9489 Demolisher has really good articulation save for his arms which have the missile launcher gimmick built in and his head which sits between the two halfs of his alt mode. I have either two or three of the light green energon version that I used back in the day as some kind of weird army-building type security squad. It's really neat how his minicon can either pilot him or become a deployable mini-vehicle for his vehicle mode, I'm surprised that kind of thing wasn't as common as it could have been.
