    I feel that true crime followers like myself, generally, become informed about a case or watch TV shows or videos about cases with the completion of said shows or videos having a conclusion where justice has or is in the process of being served. With that being said, your devotion, thoroughness and obvious compassion and commitment in the content that you provide is so incredibly honorable. Not only are you fiercely advocating for the victims and his/her loved ones, but you're also working, relentlessly, to not only keep the information prevalent, but also, to get the answers and justice that even complete strangers so desperately want. Thank you for the work that you do!

    I don’t know - on the surface his attitude about good and bad memories in relation to the vehicle sounds “OK”… But I can’t imagine that any number of happy memories are strong enough to get rid of the absolutely horrific thing that happened there. It concerns me that he’s able to minimize, to some degree, the horror of the event.
    And if he’s capable of minimizing it, why?

    Have they looked at Tommy Lopez's ex girlfriend? She apparently had knowledge of the case that was not public at the time, and the way she described the crime did not require two people to be present.

    After watching lots of cases like this, I have come to the conclusion that if you want to murder someone and get away with it you need to live in a place where there is a small police force(usually run by a sheriff) and be rural.

    I’ve heard what you described as a “geofencing” technique referred to as a “tower dump.” That was a crucial part of a case here in Louisiana. Because of the information from the towers they found one other phone that pinged simultaneously with the victim’s. Without that evidence the killer likely would never have been prosecuted.

  • @BarbaraT.
    @BarbaraT. 2 года назад +29

    "Her old man" definitely sounds like a reference to her father to me rather than to her husband, but people talk in different ways. It would fit nicely to your initial thought that the killer wanted to hurt Brittany's family.
    Still, the father seems determined for the investigation to go forward, just like her husband. And if he had a big debt I think investigators would have found out pretty soon.

    Yeah...poor lady and little kid. The thing about "stranger" shootings is that it's almost impossible to catch them when there's nothing to tie the shootings to these particular people and there's no video. It could have really been just a person who thought it would be fun to kill someone (yup, in the true crime community, we've heard of people like this) or more likely, could have been road rage as per Brittany's cursing text about another car (which was unusual for her). Since it was in a rural area with no cameras...yeah, people get daring with what they feel they can get away with. I don't think LE has a clue who did it and the person probably will get away with this, sadly. God bless.

I heard you say that she was a stay at home mom with several small kids in her care and one on the way so why was she interviewing and for what? A job? Were they desperate for a dual income or was the interview for something else?

  • @dellahicks7231
    @dellahicks7231 2 года назад +6

    I simply do not understand Shane volunteering it was someone he knew, "But not personally" well who is that 'Someone'? It doesn't appear to be Tommy Lopez so where did that branch of the investigation go? I am in a quandary about the witness, the ex girlfriend of Lopez, why would authorities state she knew information not available to the public, if what she told investigators was a dead end?
    It seems like John said, he was still leaning to Lopez's involvement, talking about a white or silver van, and a blue light pulling her over.
    I can understand why Brittany's parents are frustrated, I just hope they finally get the answers they are searching for, and Aubree continues to do well.

  • @sandrafaith

    Terrible and tragic :(
    If she was driving Shane's Jeep, it really feels like he was the intended target. A yellow Jeep is so distinctive.
    FWIW I have never heard "old man" / "old lady" refer to anyone but a spouse. It may be regional (though were I grew up is regionally close to there).

    May depend on how old the person is. I've heard older people say "I knew your old man", and the were talking about the person's father. That was years ago, and older movies, they used to say, for example a cop talking with a victim, "ya know I knew your old man"..I'm 49, so movies in the 80s
    ...so it could be a generational thing or as I've gotten older, I hear people use that phrase, and they were talking about their significant other...so maybe based on area. Prayers for this family to find peace. So very sad.

    You have to be very cold-blooded to point a gun at a baby and pull the trigger. Some members of motorcycle gangs are certainly no saints and may very well be involved in criminal activity (including murder), but the way I see it, they have a certain code of honor. I can't imagine at all that they would just shoot down a young woman and her baby while driving by.

    This happened a fairly rural area and the areas around it have low populations. IMO this was targeted not as the result of road rage. We do not know enough about Brittany's or Aubrey's injuries to visualize how close the murderer was, the type of gun they used or from what angle they shot from, other than the driver's side. If it was a rifle they could have fired from some distance which means Shane could have been the intended victim. This makes me wonder why LE hasn't made the type of weapon a focus. I think LE needs to come out with... We are looking for the gun used in the shooting. It is a ______. Please contact our agency or the anonymous tip line if you know of anyone who owns/owned an unregistered or otherwise illegally possessed ______. It would generate new leads.

    But suspects I honestly don't know. Her husband could've hired them or it's totally different than that! Route 68 is not busy in these kinds of areas especially at night & not well lit. It sounds like the police did a terrible job of collecting good evidence at the initial crime scene. When the sheriff said that they may still need the Jeep to determine possible angle of shots, I realized that they are clueless. That needed to be done at the crime scene, and would have been very easy to determine by a qualified investigator. This is why state or federal officials should be the only people investigating murders. These incompetent country police screw the investigation up so bad that it can never be recovered.

    Although Shane seens like a good suspect, Im kind of going with the random road rage and them actually following her and waiting. I had a similar situation where my boyfriend bumped into someone accidentally in a fast food line in an international scout. We apologized but they pulled over and waited and then followed us onto the freeway and were threatening us with a gun, we managed to finally make a last second exit off the freeway and lose them but honestly people are crazy and kill people over any perceived slight. Its shocking what people kill other people over.

    How tragic... Two murdered and one left without a mom...
    I don't think it's that odd that he wanted the jeep back. I think the detectives should have asked him if they could keep the parts of the jeep that had been shot, instead of giving him the jeep and him later saying they could take back those parts - thus breaking the chain of custody like John said.
    Obviously, there's a chance that it was a murder for hire, which would make his alibi worthless, but I'm leaning towards a simpler situation. Maybe a road rage incident.

      In the movie A Christmas Story, "my old man" meant the person's dad. That movie took place in the 40s. I think people said that more back in the day. But they probably still do in different parts of the country. I'm an Arizonan, so it isn't an expression you really hear.
      I tend to think of "my old lady" as meaning the wife because I've heard that before in movies, but Idk if I've heard "my old man" in a movie meaning someone's husband.

    • @tracytracy622
      @tracytracy622 Год назад

      I'm thinking it may be somewhat generational. I'm old enough that in my neck of the woods, "my old man" (or "your old man") referred to a father. It's only recently (comparatively 🤣) that I hear it to mean a husband or boyfriend.
      Then again, even here, to subcultures I've never been affiliated with, it may have always meant husband or boyfriend 🤷
      My first reaction was "her father," but I apparently am wrong.
