Alex's focus on child seats is top-notch and the extra dedication/detail to the 3rd row is second to none.

Considering how many people are buying cars to safely haul their families, I’m disappointed at just how many car reviewers focus on metrics like 0-60 times, instead of how well they can actually fit your family.

We just purchased an Atlas for our 10 month old. I wish we could’ve waited for a Hybrid Grand Highlander but Toyotas delays are absurd.
Good news is the Atlas is a wonderful car so far.

Fantastic car seat car. You would be suprised how many 3 row SUVs cant have a rear facing seat behind a taller driver and the Atlas does it with ease. If you get the 2nd row bench you can fit 3 car seats all side by side without getting slim fit seats. The lack of 3rd row lower anchors is a miss and I never understood that. Although we put are oldest back there (when we had a 2019 with captains) and since he was over 40lbs couldn't us the lower anyway. But now he uses a booster and seatbelt, but the booster uses lower anchors just to hold itself in place. The 2024 we have now has 2nd row bench so all the kids sit side by side easily in the various seats a 6, 4 and 2 year old use. With that configuration the 3rd row remains down and cargo capacity is huge. If you cant fit in an Atlas you need an Expedition Max (the only full size that also allows you to flip the 2nd row seats up with a carseat installed).

We just bought an SEL AWD Atlas, and Im in Love. We got the 7 seater and have a toddler. The space inside, compared to Telluride, does not come close.

Best review so far considering that most folks would be interested buying Atlas for its 3rd row. I got mine 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it

If you're concerned about the 3rd row and rear facing child seat, I bet the Sienna would be the best choice in the price range, if you don't need the ground clearance and an off-road mode for the AWD system.

You should have compared the cargo area at the end of the video to the Grand Highlander, not the regular Highlander.

Well when the seat is facing forward the seatbelt shouldn’t be in use until the child is in the seat… correct?
Because then are we moving the seat with child in it ? Sounds like a fun ride

Forward facing child seats can be attached with the seatbelt, and must be when the child is a weight that exceeds LATCH limit. Then the child is held in by the car seats harness, not the seatbelt.

Love your car seat reviews. However, I am not able to understand how you can fit 3 people in the 3rd row, at least in a comfortable level. With 2 seats, everyone can be comfortable.

    No airflow for car seats

Ultimate family vehicles, just like minivans. Except worse in every way.😊
