Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
Chris Stanley and the rest of the Megastyle crew have been teasing screenshots of this awesome C64 Star Wars tribute they've been developing via Twitter for some time now, and it's finally available for fans to enjoy. The game is a recreation of the Atari 2600 and Intellivision game, published by Parker Brothers back in 1982, and Megastyle has done a great job.
Pilot your T-47 airspeeder as you blast AT-ST and Super AT-ATs in the Battle of Hoth, defending Echo Base from the Empire's nefarious forces in this cool arcade-style blaster!

Hearing that SID chip rendition of the Star Wars theme filled a void in me I never knew I had.
Man that is really cool. The level of detail is pretty astonishing. I remember playing it for the 2600. I had no idea what to do, but hearing the AT-ATs clomping along was pretty terrifying.
The original Atari game used to give me joystick rot fingers, those were the days!
Game developers have been savvy for years that people who saw Empire Strikes back were thinking 'I want to fly a Snowspeeder and fight an AT-AT'
Here Italy, fantastic game for the old Commodore 64
Wow. Nice for C64
Nicely played! The game is excellent, they did a really good job on this one.
May the pixels be with you
This is how you make art on the C64!
Brilliant!
C=64 in hdmi is an eye'candy ☺️👌
has a uriduim vibe lol
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my goodness
Beats the hell out of the Atari 2600 version.
This is more like if the Atari 2600 version got a remake on Game Boy Color or Game Gear. Actually there were a few c64 titles ported to Game Boy Color.
Is this JonTron's Bird VS Camel!?
Now in HD
muy bueno amigo saludos
The Commodore 64 version of the STAR WARS game looks so awesome,
I definitely would like to give a try 😺👍.
It also reminds me of Midway's legendary arcade classic DEFENDER 🐱👍🕹️.
Yeah, it's simplified Defender style shooter. Defender was a lot better game, but this one has very nice graphics for C64 and music from the movie.
@@mattx5499 Oh, i totally agree with you 😺👍🕹️.
Keep it up 👍 supporting with like 👍
Wow! Wait, you mean to say there was no conversion of this back in the day?! Count me surprised!
There were conversions of Atari's arcade games, but not the Parker Brothers version of ESB.
@@AL82RetrogamingLongplays The same Parker Brothers version, made for the Atari 2600?
You might check out Jeff Minter's "Attack of the Mutant Camels," which isn't a conversion, exactly, but is in the same spirit.
@@ApoplepticDialectics I had REVENGE OF THE MUTANT CAMELS on my Commodore 64 as a tape version 😺👍.
There was a clone called Attack of the Mutant Camels from Jeff Minter, but no official conversion.
Why the hell I missed this awsome game when I was young? Did I played to much Last Ninja or did I just started to early playing with girls?
This was just recently made.
this is fan game or real game?

Homebrew :D
Well it looks nice, but had some basic troubles with the faithfulness. these ships could not stop in the air, or move back and forth like in thei game.
The small walkers did not have rockets, they used laser beams.
The big walkers had such a strong shield they could not penetrate it with lasers, had to used the cable to stop them.
Because of the aboves the sampleplay is too simple, although the gfx and the sound are ok and well done. Sorry.
It looks great but to be fair but the gameplay seems weak.
at least it does not expect you to play 3 hours to see ending. nice 15-20 minutes of gameplay. repetitive - yes, tiresome - no. after-credits battle is purely optional for score
agreed..
@@user-uk5bx1kz2k It's like an arcade game, only it doesn't cost real money to play which is nice. You can rack up a high score at your own pace. The gag names in the high score list are pretty great too. lol
@@user-uk5bx1kz2k Only thing really missing is the tow cable. Other than that this is super faithful to the battle on Hoth.
