I'm an American and it was totally disrespectful especially while on the green from a caddie!!
It wasn't the end of the world, it wasn't Joe's finest hour but he's been around the game a long time and I'm sure he knows that. All hand bags in the end 👍
Both Joe and Rory have well deserved reputations for being very classy and respectful individuals and I think that in the heat of the moment they both lost their cool and acted out of character. This shows how much this competition means to everybody, even the caddies. In my opinion once Rory let Joe know that he was being a problem waving his hat and being a distraction Joe should have put the hat down, said "Sorry Rory I'll get out of your way" and that should have been the end of it. I blame him more than Rory.
The American caddy knew what he was doing and was disrespectful to Rory, Rory perhaps on reflection will think he probably overreacted but there again this is high-pressure sports and Europe did win and Rory had the most points of any player on both sides at the 2023 Ryder Cup
He still has a ways to go to catch Jack, but he is one of the best golfers in the world! I would put him top 50 all time!

@@BidenIsKing I think you’re wrong with Rory, particularly in the last 10 years. There are not many golfers who win numerous major tournaments. The last one is Tiger Woods. The nature of the game has changed vastly what hasn’t changed its Europe, consistently beating the Americans in the Ryder Cup. The last time the Americans won the Ryder Cup in Europe, was 30 years ago

I hope Rory reads these comments but probably doesn't. 1st..The reporter is an idiot asking if Rory would duke it out in the parking lot. No place for violence at any time. 2nd..Rory should be ashamed of himself suggesting he would. The caddie in question is as old as his Dad so he's suggesting he would fight someone his Dad's age. 3rd and lastly...these guys work together as anyone else does regardless of stature. People have disagreements in the work place. FIGHTING should not be suggested or tolerated period...whatever the reason!
Nevertheless, the way the caddy behaved was not professional at all. He is there to help his player, not to be an opponent saboteur... .

I’m just trying to figure out what he did that was so disrespectful! I didn’t see what happened and there isn’t really a good clip that I have seen to what he actually did. I personally have lost a lot of respect for Rory.
Basically - once the player had putted out his caddie should get out of the way to allow the opposing player to line up his putt. Joe continued to celebrate Cantalay's putt on the green by waving his hat to the gallery, even after Rory asked him to move. Rory's putt would have tied the match - but he missed. Obviously the incedent got him. Most people get upset when respect is not given when due. In other words Joe disprected Rory's request & golf etiquette in general.

The European team played great every day of the Ryder cup! It was great seeing McIntyre picked at long last! But if I were to pick out the star of our team, it would be the cool Mr Fleetwood - He was fabulous - As expected!
I'm glad Rory and Joe texted and at least somewhat ironed this out. Neither of them did themselves any favors.
Zack f'd up by not demanding that night for Lacava to publicly apologize to Rory. Instead a seething Rory got his whole team fired up and they had an another mission aside from winning the Ryder cup. Any small chance we had of coming back was over before it started Joe got caught up in the hat waving, and just caved in to the pressure. Guarantee you he wouldn't have done that if her was on Tiger's bag. Cantlay played dumb but her was right there and absolutely saw what went down. He could have made nice and apologized while shaking hands. Bones tried to make peace but Rory wasn't hearing it from him.

McIlroy has always had anger issues. He's worse than John McEnroe and Illie Nastase combined. Just not a pleasant guy to have around.

Blown out of all proportion by the media. Joe is normally the regular caddy to Rory's good mate Tiger Woods. So they have been in each other's company quite a bit in the past and will continue to get on.
At least they stoped crying! That goes for both sides not sure if the American players are done with the tears, but I know I'm sick of watching these millionaires crying. What happened to men? Professional golfers as the most thin skin, prima donnas over paid individuals that I have ever seen they were born with a skill that is better than the rest of us but for some reason they can’t take a little rib or someone saying things a little off-color that’s all I’m gonna say I’m 83 years old and I played that game for 60 years and never had the problems that these guys have when there’s a crowd around

Congrats Team Europe! You guys came ready to play and got the job done. That said, it was disappointing to watch the decorum of both teams. We’ve come along way, in the wrong direction, from Jack Nicklaus conceding a putt out of respect.

Also I want to say (as an American) to any American PGA player who wants to get paid for the Ryder Cup....GET LOST !! That attitude is what give us a loosing record with the Ryder Cup. You should pay to be on the team to represent the U.S.A. One last thing, its a big fat E.G.O. that usually causes this garbage. E.G.O = edging, God, out. Get back to the basics of what it means to be on the Ryder Cup team!!

What really happened was that Joe asked Rory if he had heard that Jay Monahan had signed a secret deal to merge with LIV Golf.

@@franklyn1010LaCava wasn’t directing anything towards Rory, he was reacting to one of the only good things the American team did all day and was caught up in the moment, and I don’t think he was aware of who he was near. Rory made it a confrontation. In a perfect world, LaCava keeps his cool until getting off the green. But was it an egregious affront and intentional disrespect to the EU team? No.
