- Big Star & Raw Sports Presents another classic episode of BIG STARS LOST TAPES featuring SIMEON vs CARVER. This game is a RARE 1985 CHICAGO PUBLIC LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME that featured 2 NBA LEGENDS. CARVER featured TIM HARDAWAY who was one of the best point guards in the country and gave us the infamous "KILLER CROSSOVER". SIMEON featured NICK ANDERSON who was also one of the best players in the country at the time and was highly athletic. This game was very special to Chicago high school hoop fans because SIMEON had lost senior BEN WILSON who was the #1 player in the country going into his senior season. He was murdered a day before the season was to begin. There are many other hoop legends featured in this game. Check it out, SUBSCRIBE TO THE RAW SPORTS RUclips CHANNEL, and Stay Tuned for the next episode of BIG STARS LOST TAPES.
Nothing like 80's Chi-town basketball
That be me, #53 for the Green $ Gold
53:00 Pro Level Defense by Hardaway to draw the Charge
We're did you get this film?
The basketball community appreciates this!
Again his name is Ben Wilson not Simmons
Wow i remember the UIC Pavillion over off Roosevelt down the street from jew town man those were the days!!! And you could tell Hardaway was pro material because he was so posed i remember watching him in the early 90's in Leclaire Park when he was with Golden State dude had game. Along with Brian Leech (r.i.p) and others!!!
Ben Wilson, not Ben Simmons, FYI
great video. love the old school hoops. Growing up in boston, we knew all about the great players in new york and Washington DC. But we didnt really know all about the great players out of chicago. We knew they were there. but didnt really get to see them.
In honor of Ben Wilson, Nick Anderson wore jersey #25 during his career at Illinois. A tradition carries on that any Simeon graduate moving on to play for the Illini also wear #25.... Deon Thomas, Bryant Notree, Calvin Brock, and Kendrick Nunn.
YOU DON'T KNOW CHICAGO BASKETBALL !!!!!!!
SOOOOOOOO STOP
R Kelly was never a basketball star in Chicago. I don't think he ever played a high school game. He did not go to Simeon with Ben Wilson so I'm not sure what he has to do with this story. He may have played pickup ball in the parks with Ben Wilson once or twice. Double check your facts please.
R Kelly played AAU with Ben
Ben wilson/not Simmons slow down..
The reason why these players could shoot better was because there was no 3-point shot. Back then, players always practiced the mid-range jump shot at the playgrounds and practices. They were not shooting bad, long 3-point shots like they do now. Players nowadays only know how to shoot very long, bad 3-point shots and layups.
I have no idea how I got here
Can you get the 1988 King vs Collins game from the Pavillion??
Time for the baggies to come back
10:08
This is ❤❤❤❤❤😂😂fire
Rip benji
Benji Wilson man
Anyone have the king vs crane championship city champ at the pavilion 1987
Carver beat Manley to get to the championship game. Big Brad, John, Kenny Shannon, and Greg Williams. Wade Jenkins and Tim Hardaway was just too much for them though.
Are you talking about the Kenny Shannon they call Kenny Shine off of California and Mozart on the west side of Chicago he became one of the biggest dope dealers on the west side of Chicago
@@mikeymckenney3215 I’m talking Chicago High School basketball history, anything else anyone has done is for the authorities God put in charge and his ultimate judgement at the appointed time.
