Hi Dan, always great informative videos. Have learnt so much from you since starting caravaning. All the very best to you and your family. Take care and enjoy your extended holiday break. You would be very good as a TV presenter. Cheers. B.
Evening I can go with you on LR. I was looking to buy an Evoque on a 66 plater with 26000 on the clock, but after reading up on them and even speaking with a LR dealer he warned me off it unless there was concrete evidence of FSH and all changes had been done as per spec. Needless to say I went away from the green oval and opted for the blue oval.
Thank you for the updates Dan ! Like Angela I’m a fellow back / hip ache sufferer/ nights in on the Duvelay double ! I’ve now solved it by extending the bed base even more fully and propping each corner with one of those pop out stools ( Mac & Sarah recommended). The lack of a slight slope makes all the difference and worth a go if needed! Gordon never gets bad backs , so he’s not affected by it either way ! 😉👍
HI DAN. We've been away for three weeks too!! We have the same van as you but are at a loss with how to best use the on board water tank .... It seems a complete faff to have to make so many switches on and off!!! Just trying to find out a better pressure for showering!!! Thanks. We'd be lost without your helpful videos. Hope to see you out there... Annie
Dan - A personal massive thank you for all that you do for the caravan community. It must be very demoralising to receive idle or silly comments after all the hard work you put in for the benefit of others. As our parents taught us to say "If you have nothing good to say, then say nothing". We would love to hear your thoughts on the Avtex TV but make sure you and Angela enjoy some quality time first. Happy travels David & Rachel (Colchester)
Hi Dan, I thought your comments on Landrovers was hilarious and true to form. I'm a tow truck operator so I can vouch for their lack of reliability. I'm also an Irish caravanner with a good sense of humour, no..... not the travelling kind of one with the gypsy lifestyle, the other kind😂. Anyway, I love the channel and I'm looking forward to the next videos, specifically the one about the on board water tank. I want to retrofit one to my own Lunar caravan. Speaking of Irish and Ireland, you mentioned in a video some time ago about coming to Ireland. Did you ever get here?
Anybody finding themselves constantly breaking down. Make sure you engage the rear window heaters while roving around. Just a tip for keeping your hands harm whilst pushing. 👍🏻
i personally found the range rover joke a laugh out loud moment .. have the days gone where we cant take the mick and crack a joke? .. be true to yourself Dan dont worry about the sensitive folk 🙂
Hi Dan I’m an ex Discovery owner and had a good laugh at your comments, yes I would be very interested in you doing a review of the new Avtex tv to see if it will be a good investment to upgrade. Dan keep up with your fantastic blogs as they are very interesting and informative, hope all is good with you and your personal life, take care and look after yourself.
Ye I’d like to see that tv review, Range Rover joke was funny. Accurate and funny. Regards video frequency, enjoy/live life, we’ll all be here when things calm down
Hi Mate. Probably should be in the Q&A videos, but could you recommend a breakdown cover which covers caravan recovery also? Not sure what's available . Cheers, Grant.
Dan - don’t worry about LR owners - they get a bit touchy about the reliability of their pride and joy. You were only stating fact! Like you, I have a Touareg (bought on October last year) absolutely love it - fantastic tow car! A bit thirsty. Love your channel- my wife and I always look forward to your latest ones. Hope to meet you in person one day. Steve and Margaret Finch
Hi Dan we have just done NC500 with Unicorn 5 Pamplona. With 7 sites over 24 Days. Keep the car topped up with Fuel. So you don't need to top up when Towing. There are plenty of supermarkets and convenience stores. To don't go mad on the food. You can always pop in to buy next few meals on your trips out. We also used onsite washing facilities for the first time. Take plenty of £coins for the machines.
Hi Dan, Agree with you on LandRovers 100% The Australians have a saying about them that goes " If you are traveling into the OutBack make sure you are in a LandRover, however, if you want to get back then use a Toyota Land Cruiser"
When we are moving from site to site, I arrange Tesco Click and Collect grocery shops from stores that are along the route. Admittedly, it’s a bit easier for us with a motorhome.
Hi Dan, re the food issue. Yes it's heavy, especially the essentials like beer and wine. We tend to only take a couple of day's worth and then buy local to help support the local economies. Pays to plan ahead as some areas have a shortage of decent supermarkets within easy reach selling quality fruit and veg.
I have a Land Rover. Its my third, and yes, they cost a lot to maintain. In the last few years I have adopted the method of scheduled maintenance rather than reacting to emergencies, and my enjoyment has got so much better. My latest is now a 22 year old LR Discovery 2 and I've had it about 8 years and its passing 280,000 miles on the clock. I don't think I'd get another newer LR as they are even more unreliable. I have many colleagues with nice shiny RRs and many of them have changed to other car makes due to the theft risk and ability to breakdown more than our Mercedes trucks that do 150,000km a year.... ;)
Hi Dan, great videos/information and yes please to the review. I’ve already got the new Avtex but hoping you’ll save me resorting to actually reading the manual! 😂
Hi Dan. I hope the issues on the home front are soon resolved. We have had our Avtex TV so long I think we bought it from John Logie Baird! Long overdue a change so please review the new 24" Avtex. Best wishes. Barry.
Great update Dan, the tour sounds fantastic! Also, loved the Land Rover jokes, I've never owned one so can't have an opinion but made me chuckle to know that some were grumpy about it 😂 Feel free to make Mazda jokes, I won't be offended lol. All the best
Hi Dan, I would like you to review the Avtex please. I have been considering one for a while to replace a JVC tv we have which I bought from Argos. My wife said to me ‘why do we need an Avtex? What’s wrong with the one we have?’ Good questions I thought, as I couldn’t provide an answer other than Avtex is designed for caravans/motorhomes? So a review from you would help with both my decision making and give me a better explanation to my wife! Thanks 👍🏻
Hi Dan, good to see you back. Can’t believe you had to explain the Land Rover joke! As you say, some people just don’t have a sense of humour 🤦🏼♂️ I’d be interested in a review of the tv and maybe a comparison. I think it was a Falcon one you were using, so comparing them would be good. At least a busy June full of work helps pay for more trips away in the van!
I once saw an auction that included a 2022 Ranger Rover 4x4 Starting bid was set at £4000.00 and no one wanted it. I wonder why ? As far as I know It's still on the parking lot. Obviously no Range Rover fans were there that day. Glad you are doing ok now and able to vblog. Hope things get better for you and the Missus. I had thought about a on-board water tank but we have a small 4 berth so finding space would a problem. Interesting idea though on how to fit one.
Another great blog Dan. We have the 24” Avtex tv, it is just great. Hand on heart we only use it via streaming services. I must try and use it via terrestrial services. I just find using it via Roku just great.
TV review video - yes please! If you put up a title and people don’t want to watch it, your stats may go down, but those who are interested would appreciate you spending the time please? We are in the market just now for a 24” TV for the bedroom of our Challenger 650. We already have an Avtex 24” in the lounge and we’re considering getting the same model for the bedroom (same remote etc), but like you I find it a pain going through the retune activity. Just my 2p worth of opinion. Thanks for the update.
The return of the AQT button on the Avtex new range is fantastic, it was for me the biggest downside to their previous Smart range as i mentioned in my review. It appears Avtex listen which is also fantastic!
Hi Dan, please don't apologise to Snowflakes, all it does is encourage them. It's your channel, none of us have a contract with you, post what you like when you like, most will stay, the rest, well they can just melt away. 🤣 Would be interested in a review / demo' of the TV if and when you get time. Bought our first 'Van last September and currently just use our little domestic Panasonic from the Kitchen. Have watched enough to know you are tech savvy which we are not, so keeping it fairly basic would suit us, but you know your audience so.... I can just glaze over if you lose me. 🤣🤣🤣 Keep it blue side up and have a lovely time away.
Is good humour for sure but unless you have actually owed one and know the facts then you need to reserve judgement unless you purposely wanted reactions. As you say, many other manufacturers also have issues. Anyway, you have had your say.
No need to apologize either for having a sense of humour, or for ( :: faints dramatically :: ) not priortising RUclips over your real life stuff. We shall be here for whenever the next video drops, and in the meantime there are always the narrowboat channels to watch... 😅
Hi dan i was trying to sell my caravan had a chancer wanted me to take 2 grand off the price I cant be bothered with time wasters like that kept pestering me after like that could you maybe do a video or give a mention or some advice on dealing with these pests thanks
An old mate of mine had a Range Rover and even he said, ‘Buy a Range Rover and buy a tool box,’ As for the TV from my own personal point of view if it is a 12 volt one then I would like to see a review.
Don't bother with the miseries who don't have a sense of humour. As a land Rover owner of 20 odd years, you comments were pretty accurate, although Ihave to say my Discoveries were no better or worse than any other car I or any one else I know has had. Love 'em anyway! Keep up the good work, and hope you've no serious problems.
😂 the land rover thing had me cracking up. I had a discovery, i had it 24 hours and it broke, 9 months later the gear box went. I love them but they are so unreliable on the whole. I have a tiny Toyota Yaris now and spend £120 less a month on fuel 😂
Hi, We have an older Avtex 19" TV which has the DVD slot on the right hand side, easy to use in the bedroom. I buy loads of DVD's in charity shops to watch then give back. Your new TV is in the front, can you buy these TV's with a DVD slot?
Dan I wouldn't get too bothered by any adverse comments from Landrover fans. I personally think Landrovers look substantially better than any other SUVs and in theory are technically brilliant. However, I would never buy one. I have three friends who drooled over Range Rovers for years and after the kids flew the roost and spare cash became a thing all three bought Range Rovers. One bought a Vogue and the others both bought Sports. All three have calved and left them stranded and all three required new engines under warranty. None of the three said gentlemen drive Range Rovers any more. I personally am a Kia Sorrento fan and am now on my fifth, a GT Line S. No reliability issues with any touch wood so 7 year warranties never used, all brilliant tow cars, all loaded with all the required toys and relatively cheap to run.
Thanks Dan and hope you are all well, looking forward to your Evora projects especially the onboard tank and water improvements 👍
Hi Dan, always great informative videos. Have learnt so much from you since starting caravaning.

so spot on
Anybody finding themselves constantly breaking down. Make sure you engage the rear window heaters while roving around. Just a tip for keeping your hands harm whilst pushing. 👍🏻
We've had 4 Landies, with a reliability range from brilliant to awful. Loved them all. Great vid Mr T.
Thanks Dan look forward to your onboard water tank project, I’ve got an idea how do it, so be interested on how you make auto fill?
Hi Dan, completely agree about the newer Avtex handset and the lack of the AQT button - what a pain.
Looking forward to your onboard water tank video as I’m going to to that mod.
Happy hols

Would love to hook up at some point mate. Especially after the support you gave me when Sal was very ill. I'll always be grateful mate.
Love the quich start on our old cello. Couple of clicks and it tunes in the channels 👍

Love your videos Dan can’t wait for next.
We have a 19.5" avtex TV series 9 iirc the AQT button is one of the finest features always use it
We were at Henley four oaks last week. Go towards back of the site if you can, a bit less road noise. Keep up the great vids.
Hi Dan, I’ve done work at James’s house. He’s a lovely person and definitely a Land Rover lover.
Hi Dan, I would like you to review the Avtex please. I have been considering one for a while to replace a JVC tv we have which I bought from Argos. My wife said to me ‘why do we need an Avtex? Enjoy your site hopping adventure 😊
Hi Dan, yes please, do a review of the new 24 inch Avtex TV.
Yes please Dan I’m interested why their are so dear compared with the alternative
Hi Dan, good to see you back. Can’t believe you had to explain the Land Rover joke! As you say, some people just don’t have a sense of humour 🤦🏼♂️

Hi. Is it worth the money for the Avtec sound bar because it is quite dear.
Love your range rover sense of humor.

See you at club fest Dan, Bruce and Chrissy.
You should come on a tour with us if you want to go site to site to site. 😊
100% up for that Bob. 👍
yes please do a review of the tv
Dumped my Landrover, so much trouble with it 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
We got stick with lunar leaky lunar was always stated when say you have a lunar but
Our lunar no leaks no damp just perfect

My local garage begged me to buy a Range Rover says it will keep him in work for years and years!
Regarding the tv and webos my LG pops up with a messaging asking to return. Press okay and its donw
As a JLR owner mine is a lot more reliable than a Skoda o had
Hi, We have an older Avtex 19" TV which has the DVD slot on the right hand side, easy to use in the bedroom. I buy loads of DVD's in charity shops to watch then give back. Your new TV is in the front, can you buy these TV's with a DVD slot?
Why not just get a fire stick that you connect to your inbuilt WIFI? No messing about tuning tvs at all then
Good point, we tune TV to watch live TV and for locations where signal isn’t strong enough for streaming.
Dan I wouldn't get too bothered by any adverse comments from Landrover fans. I personally think Landrovers look substantially better than any other SUVs and in theory are technically brilliant. Range Rovers don’t breakdown they’re running super efficently
My Range Rover is reliable! I can rely on it being where I left it in the barn! Assuming no one has stolen it
Crap in the front locker? Ain't that the truth. Ours is like a skip. It's too easy to just throw stuff in there and forget about it.
The truth hurts Dan so don't worry 😂
Anybody & everybody knows land rover breakdown & all cars breakdown but not like land rovers ! don't apologise u told the truth
JLR Owners shouldn't be made fun of - they've got a lot of stress in their lives already.
Land Rover ownership is like a sick cult and god forbid you point it out 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is funny land rovers are awful 😂😂
Why do I see so many Range Rovers on the back of low loaders
Might be for secure parking mate, it's not as easy to rob them off the back of a lorry than it is when they're on the ground 🤭
