- The vibrant and extremely colourful Hermosa Festival in Zamboanga is a chance for the City to showcase it's cultural, contemporary and historical uniqueness to the world. Here are a few of the things I did and saw while I was there. Buckle up folks!

Great vlog Marshall. You've certainly put a shine on many aspects of the Mindanao traditions and cultures. I hope one day, my fellow Filipinos, don't see Philippines as unsafe as they think it is. Many Filipinos who don't live in Mindanao still thinks it is unsafe. In fact, many would also say to be careful in Manila but I would probably feel safer in Philippines than many cities in the US!

Each vinta can be fit with 2 person to add more speed the race they called it Regatta de Zamboanga.

It means that the Patron saint of Pilar is the virgin Mary of Zarragoza. In the Philippines, every town and city has its own patron saint based off of a Catholic saint, either from Mexico or Spain or Italy... I think. Cause i have never heard of a Dutch saint or a British or African saint... So I suppose its from Latino saints hahaha.❤

I am solo traveling to Phiilipines in November.
I cant decided if spend my last week in Zamboanga or south Cebu Siquijor Dumaguete. From your point of view, to know authentic Filipino culture, what would you recommend?
Both areas are good choices my friend. Zamboanga has a diverse mix of cultures and for that reason can be very interesting. Dumaguete is a lovely town with a beautiful esplanade/ boulevard and you can get a boat to Siquijor Island from there as well.
