- this song has been requested by many people because it is hard to find on the internet, due to the fact that it is a bonus track if you buy the album on itunes, and since nobody wanted to buy it, I decided to and here it is. The reason things had gotten shaky was mostly due to conflicts with EMI. Due to the poor chart performances of "Stylo"(because it was leaked) EMI didn't want to continue funding the project.
Wtf!? Stylo is one of their best songs

YES! i'm glad they saved this bit... Rhinestone Eyes is a great song, but i was sad that it seemed like most of the Electric Shock demo was trashed. i'd have loved to hear the demented carnival music fleshed out, but hey. this is still awesome times!

I can relate, im a long time fan of gorillaz and i introduced my friend to gorillaz and hes only been stuck to clint eastwood and feel good inc, and so far this is one of my favorites
I really have come a long way looking at all these songs in gorillaz people barely talk about that fascinate me.

I wish there were more orchestral pieces on the album. Apparently they recorded hours of the stuff but only White Flag, Orchestral Intro and this song were released.

Gwar and Athediscotv are partially right. This plays in the background of Murdoc's Ident, and it was also the beginning of Electric shock back when the demo songs were released.
Guess they decided to cut that song and apply its bits and pieces into different projects.

@Schmittsterful It's definitely NOT Empire ants. The melody and the way he sings are really different. There aren't even violins on Empire Ants, while there are on Russel's ident.

If you check out the dvd that came with the experience edition of the new album, electric shock is still there...its just going to be a b-side i suppose. The dvd shows a handful of songs that aren't on the album which is exciting!

Hey man, I'd have bought this album on iTunes had I not already bought a physical copy.
Okay. Crashing down was the demo for Empire Ants. Then they wanted to make it separate because it was a tad different. But it was never released because the guy, a famous Arabian Singer, cancelled on Damon and they never got to sing together on the song. That was the plan. So only the chorus is recorded. Damon talked about trying to finish it in an interview when discussing "the fall." So it's not released because it's not done.
I actually love this track. A lot. Is there anywhere I can download it without buying the deluxe edition of the album?
it may be Empire Ants, but it's not the CD version, which herculeanmusic was trying to say. It wasn't edited; it's a different version entirely that will probably be released later.

What song is in Russell's ideant? It's definetly not Empire Ants. It sounds quite interesting as well.
A couple of the lines are similar, like the "world crashing down falling through space", but it sounds like a completely different song, that just happens to have similar lyrics to a couple of lines on Empire Ants.

Thank you for uploading it. Pirate's Progress is easier to find than this. it seems like the two bonus tracks are just extended versions of other songs' specific sections. I'm pretty sure this song is in one of the idents. it's good, but not "me buying it from itunes" worthy.

if you have the Japanese edition or the experience edition online booklet, you can clearly see that there was a demo recorded called "Crashing Down" by Gorillaz ft. The national orchestra for Arabic music. (the book also has the names of the other music that was to be be in plastic beach)
