The recalibration took into account Ben's habit of smashing the omnitrix like a toddler, so the transformations were more accurate... until they fiddled with the watch.
That's different. Recharge was when the prototype Omnitrix didn't have enough power to sustain a transformation for an extended period of time, which itself was inconsistent because sometimes it took only a minute to recharge and other times took ages depending. Omniverse had a TIMEOUT function that would revert Ben to human after a certain amount of time, but he could immediately transform again if he wanted to since the Omnitrix had been massively improved since the prototype and had a lot more power available to it. I believe the prototype also had the timeout function, but it hardly ever came into play since it rarely had enough power to sustain a transformation long enough for the timeout to occur. If memory serves, the timeout function was present to prevent the user from getting stuck in a transformation should something go wrong with the Omnitrix and the wielder be unable to turn back on their own. Ben 10,000 found a way to disable the timeout, I think through Master Control
There was also a Ben 10000 from Untimate Alien series where Ben never physically transformed to other aliens, instead just gained the powers of desired aliens.....
What I don’t understand is how the watch can both have a cooldown/battery life and a life form lock function. Unless the life form lock mode removes the ability to transform until disabled but extends the “battery life” tremendously
Then technically, Ben got 4 Omnitices. The prototype that then recalibrated, the Ultimatrix after the prototype self destructed and which Ben went on to use without transforming in the future, the completed Omnitrix in Omniverse, and finally his own invention the Biomnitrix in Future Omniverse. To summarize: 1. Omnitrix prototype, 2. Ultimatrix, 3. Completed Omnitrix, 4. Biomnitrix.
eh, more retcons again. Azmuth already stated that ultimate forms for aliens are already asking for trouble, and Ben already experienced it. He's not Albedo where he can get away unscathed with evolved alien forms. I would rather him sticking with Omnitrix rather than with Ultimatrix, since it's a lot safer for him to do his hero stuff

But again, there might be a series of retcons looming around the current timelines, and the people behind Man of Action probably won't risk ruining the series just yet
If he combines any alien with echo echo he would win any fight. Echo’s weakness is weak physical attributes so any combo with a fast or strong alien would be great, if anything just to help positioning
Im pretty sure that the it wasnt a glitch with the transformations azmuth told him its because he slams down on the watch which is what causes the random transformations
Theres an episode where Asmuth tells Ben "it doesnt malfunction, its a delicate piece of advanced technology you dont have to slam it everytime you use it" notice in Alienforce he stops slamming the watch like its a nail

In Alien force, the Omnitrix almost always gave Ben the alien he wanted, until season 3, when he and Kevin messed with the watch.

The Omniverse version DEFINITELY still has recharge. It times out a lot it just seems to have a shorter recharge time
