Wow, I really enjoyed watching this. My Dad drove the trolley buses at this time. He would tell us kids stories about his experiences. He always spoke fondly of a conductor he worked with called Sloaner. I couldn't help thinking my Dad could have been driving one of the vehicles in the footage. My Dad passed in 2011.

Thanks for the memories. I was 10 years at the time growing up in Glasgow street. Wish I could turn the clock back. Happy days.😊

Excellent to view this. Trolleybuses were deemed old hat then , they only had two years to go till 68 when they were discontinued and scrapped. I remember how fast they were. Felt like I was at York street again as an 8 year old.. well done.

I saw our bus!! The number 13 for the Falls and Glen Road !!! Remember how the conductor used to get a shock when the trolly arms came off the lines on a wet day! And he used a bamboo pole to hoist it back up.

It's great to see all the "picture houses" in the city centre. As a boy I would go to the Curzon mostly.

As a Holywood boy, we were 'banned' from Belfast, so my itchin' powder and stink bombs were purchased in Bangor, just up the hill from Barries. That said, the 'stink bombs' did last the train ride to Belfast. As I alighted into Keeky Bay in the Kinegar...

Generally brilliant, but even more so for classic car enthusiasts. Mind you, none of these cars were classics then!

I watched another video but can't find it again. There was a short clip in it of a bus coming off the albertbridge I think heading out of Belfast. It sparked a memory that I can't quite place. The bus seemed not to go straight onto the Albert ridge Road but seemed to go straight down what I'm guessing is Madrid Street for 100 yards then turn right for a short length then left onto the albertbridge road. Am I completely wrong or was there like a little square at this junction of short strand, Rivenhall Rd and the Albertbridge??
