Thanks for taking use along with you. Your english is very good and will improve with practice. It was challenging for me to learn Japanese when I lived and worked in Tokyo for two years many years ago. I'm still so very grateful for the kindness and patience afforded me as I'm certain I made a fool of myself a few times but was never made to feel embarrassed. I have been trying to relearn the language presently.

The hardest part of any language is constructing sentences, not just repeating phrases. Yukachan did a great job here. Also, it looks like the temperature in Asakusa at the moment is around 98 degrees Fahrenheit/36 degrees Celsius (but feels more like 100 F/38 C) 😓 I had no idea Tokyo could get so hot.

It is much worse than that, and even when it says a temperature of 40 or so, the problem is the humidity. It seems like it wouldnt make much of a difference for her to try to get to shade, it does though. Even still, you cant escape the humidity no matter what so it gets deeply, deeply unpleasant.

I’m from America, and I am very interested in Japanese culture and Japan itself because it’s absolutely beautiful. I was recently in Japan and actually visited Senso-Ji just a few days before this video was made. Thought that was kinda cool. Also your English is actually not that bad! It’s understandable to the native english speaker. I’m also learning Japanese and I’m about on the same level 😅

Awesome! Having an accent is perfectly ok as long as it's comprehensible. Fluency will come with practice. One thing that really helped me is watching English/American shows with subtitles. Best way to learn it is to immerse yourself in the culture :D

Yuka Chan Konnichiwa! Thank you for the video! I worked with a Japanese company here in the States and they offered a Japanese language school. The school was only supposed to go for one month, but we liked learning so much the school lasted for 8-1/2 months! Japanese language is not easy for me because the order of the words was different. Also, I learned that Japanese have 35 different ways to count, and there are three types of lettering systems like hiragana, katakana, and kanji. So, it was fun to learn Nihongo, but very difficult for me to remember how to speak properly. I think you have done very well with your English language! I see that even when you don’t know the word, you still try, and give the Japanese word like uchiwa. We say “fan” for uchiwa. But, the word “fan” also has a double meaning… it is short form for “fanatic”, but we also call enthusiastic people “fan” as well. This is what makes English so difficult, especially for someone who is trying to learn. Arigatou!

Whaaa 😱, just stumbled over your RUclips Channel and had to suscribe instantly, as I only knew you from the rickshaw videos, and your personality seemed so sparkly and wholesome, so happy to have found you 🤭
And no worries about your englisch skills.
I'm german, and although we were taught german since 3th class in school, I still sucked at it when I left in 10th grade 😅
I only got better afterwards, when I started watching many RUclips videos and movies in english and having some foreign online friends.
With the RUclips videos and movies I also had to use german subtitles for a long time, and they gave me literal headaches for a while haha..guess my brain had to make some new connections or something.
But then I naturally got better and better without really noticing at first because it happened so organically. Sure I still have to google some words sometimes or how to spell something correctly, but I'm able to speak fluent english with my foreign friends now and I love it.
So, if you want to improve I'd say it's a good idea to gently integrade some english in parts of your life you enjoy and do for fun.
I'm hoping to be able to do the same with Japanese one day, as I love the language and culture and would love to visit one day 🤗

There's learning a language which many people can do. Then there is actually communicating which is much harder. Your English is coming along fine. But you are a natural communicator which is more of a gift. And you have it.
